Enjoyed watching your day - Christmas is full of traditions and yours are lovely. My gosh, you all look like an artistically talented bunch - the paintings at the end were all beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
Just catching up and wanted you to know I am enjoying your Vlogmas so much! Our kids are grown and live far away, so it is wonderful to be invited to join in your very warm and cozy family traditions along with your family. It’s a lot like comfort food. Thank you so much for doing this! I look forward to joining you every day (or whenever you post a vlog). ✝️❤
I love when you include your puppies! So excited to watch vlogmas with you again this year. Thank you so much. I know it’s a lot of work during a busy time of year.
What a lovely Ist day of Vlogmas! But the best of all was everyone painting, then seeing the beautiful finished paintings. Someone shared that talent gene, then helped it develop! That is a real gift. You have some lovely traditions! And a lovely family. God Bless.
We have a similar tradition. The Christmas after each of my boys moved out, I boxed their "over the years" ornaments and gifted them to them. From peanut baby Jesus (made in toddler church when my oldest was 2) to my youngest's computer geek ornament two years ago. The sad thing is that I miss having those ornaments on my tree, but they were always meant to grow wings and fly away. Thanks for sharing your Advent traditions with us.
So much talent in your family! Those paintings are gorgeous! As you were holding up the ornaments, I thought to myself, oh my don’t drop them! So when Lily dropped hers and it shattered, I felt terrible for her. Does a Christmas ever go by that an ornament doesn’t accidentally fall and break? Not in our house! We broke two this year! My girls had ornaments too that they now have on their trees at their homes. I have dozens of ornaments from the thirty-six years of teaching that I look at and remember. Sadly, I didn’t get smart enough for several years to write the student’s name on the ornaments. Some I remember easily, but a few I have forgotten. But I treasure every one of them. I am so excited to watch vlogmas this year. I was happy to see both dogs today. Stay well. See you tomorrow!❤🎄
Your tree is beautiful! I love your dogs, I have 3. I use all my mom’s crochets ornaments from the 90’s. They are carefully package away each yr. She crocheted over the Satin balls, which I found protects the Satin too!! It doesn’t get snagged and fray.
This was so fun to watch! You are so fortunate to have such a grand family with traditions and special times together to remember. I have 2 children and 2 grandchildren from my son but my daughter suffers from mental illness and it makes this time of year particularly difficult. Thank you for sharing your family and your joy of the season.
Hi Pam. That would be extremely challenging. I imagine it would be very painful for you to see your daughter struggle through that. I am very thankful for the blessing of my family and how close we are.
Amber, I am trying the Gnome Advent KAL by Sarah Schira, this is my first time with this type of advent calendar. I understand you will get a clue everyday (via email) but not every clue is a knitting task working towards your finished project of a mystery gnome. I am super excited to try this. I am stash busting and that makes it even better. I think this project will not be overwhelming with other projects I want to work on and while we prepare for Christmas. Thank you for diving into Vlogmas this year…I really enjoy your channel ❤❤
We had the same ornament tradition when I was growing up. Unfortunately, my basement flooded this summer (3 inches from my main floor) and I lost those ornaments. Your paintings are amazing!
I so enjoy watching. Your painting was beautiful I loved them. Great to see all your traditions was very nice. You have a beautiful family. God bless. Have a great week
We are in northeast Ohio and we make a trip to Kraynaks every year to see the Christmas display and buy ornaments. Then we head to Daffin’s for candy and eat at Quaker Steak and Lube. So fun!
We buy a dated ornament every year. Usually from a trip or something significant that happened during the year. We have been married for 42 years. It a memory lane event every year to decorate the tree.
Immediately I loved your floors. And your coffee mug. Wondered about your coffee maker. Got a little nauseous as we were in the car (typical of me🤢). You have a lovely family! Do you homeschool? Thank you for Day 1 of Vlogmas ❤
Hello! We just installed those floors during lockdown in 2020. It was a good and challenging family project. We all worked on it together and got it done. I have a Breville Espresso Maker. We've had it for years and we like it! I am actually a retired homeschooling mom. My youngest just graduated this past May! So, yes, I homeschooled my kids through their entire education.
You have so many cool ornaments. Our kids didn’t want theirs so I got rid of them and got “unbreakable” balls because our dog’s tail kept knocking them off and breaking.
Wow- you are all such talented painters!!!
Thank you, Beverly!

Hi Cindi! Yep, ornaments sometimes break as careful as we try to be! I'm sure you have SO many ornaments from being a teacher!

Thanks Amber and family.

We buy a dated ornament every year. Usually from a trip or something significant that happened during the year. We have been married for 42 years. It a memory lane event every year to decorate the tree.
Oh, I love the idea of buying an ornament as a souvenir!

Hahaha. Those pups of ours!
We aren’t the only country that measures in fahrenheit. There are six that do and an additional seven that use both.
Oh, I didn't know that!
Did I see a cross stitch caroler on the tree?
Haha. Yep! Good eye!
