2 to 1 Point Slings: How You Can Use Them & Where It Can Be Appropriate

The vast majority of users recommend and use only a two-point rifle sling setup. In this video I go over how and why I use a 2 to 1 point rifle sling setup for police duty and how it works for me.
1-point sling setups do solve a common issue I often see with officers getting their rifle sling caught on their head, neck, or gear. For that reason I see a benefit of using a 1 point rifle sling. For me the 2 to 1 point rifle sling setup allows for a greater freedom of movement with my rifle without the concern of getting the sling snagged anywhere. The single point connection allows for the best rifle sling manipulation.
I am very deliberate with how I choose to run my rifle sling during certain situations. CQB and Vehicle operations I run my rifle sling in the 1-point configuration. I also run my rifle sling in the 1-point configuration if I know I am going to be maneuvering from cover to cover in training for the purpose of making transitions seamless.
For those who don't train that often and don't know how and when it can be appropriate to use a 1-point rifle sling I would not recommend it. I would also do not recommend a rifle sling that is only a 1 point. By doing this you are limiting the opportunity to use your rifle sling in situations where you can benefit from having a 2-point rifle sling connection.
