The Vietnamese have a good saying. If you drive at night a lot, you will eventually meet a ghost. I never drive at night unless it is really urgent.

I did drive long haul at night, 2019 San Jose. I was looking for a paranormal encounter and had one, as I parked overnight. Woke up startled with the voice of a little British girls voice, right in my ear. She said "Hello?" "Hello?"
It was like she was right there in the bunk. Major goose bumps. Children ghosts or paranormal occurrences are scary! Didn't sleep the rest of the morning until the sun came up, the I was able to sleep.

"Despite my better judgement" is an understatement. Every story was a driver lacking better judgement. 😂😂

I’m a trucker, so these are my favorite. Currently parked 40 miles east of flagstaff az, heading that way. Going to listen to this while I climb the mountain. 👍

I have a happy story about truckers. One year as I was driving from Nebraska to Arizona to visit my younger sister I was driving my big old Van. The wind was roaring down the mountains and I was fighting the wheel for several miles trying to stay in my lane of traffic. There was an 18 wheeler behind me and we both pulled off at a rest stop at the same time. As I got out of my van the trucker approached me. At First I was a little nervous since I was a woman driving alone but when he smiled as he neared me my fear dissolved completely.
He proceeded to give me advice about fighting the steering wheel with the wind blowing so hard. He told me if I would open the windows on both sides of the van while driving the wind would have someplace to go and would no longer push on the van. I tried it and it works beautifully. I have never forgotten the good advice he gave me. Any high profile vehicle driving in windy conditions needs to have a window down on each side of a vehicle so the wind blows through
Instead of against! Thank you trucker.❤ 56:12

The physics work for me! I wish I did this driving near Portage La Prairie,Manitoba, in 2019, 80 to 100km winds, semis pushed off the road , and me in my Uhaul 5 tonne truck, lots of wheel buzz.

Hold on. Ok City to Sweetwater, Texas...THAT'S ONLY A 5 HOUR DRIVE! 4.5 if you don't mind a few tolls in Oklahoma. We made 5 hour drives one way for holidays! AND DROVE HOME THAT DAY! We aren't even truckers! "I'd been on the road a few hours...." THEN YOU WOULD BE RIGHT OUTSIDE SWEETWATER.
Hwy 84 runs east west, not north south. You cannot use 84 in getting from OKC to Sweetwater Tx. MOST of 84 isn't called 84, because it is the same as a Texas road, so that name takes precedent. 84 leaves Lubbock moving south east, and lands on I20 just west of Sweetwater, but you are on I20, not 84. I44 or Hwy 277 are the two roads you use to get between OKC and Sweetwater Tx.
And while I'm at it, the only thing moving into little bitty Sweetwater, Tx on a big rig would be Walmart trucks and worn out windmill blades from the wind farms.
    bullship. this story is fiction.
