Thanks again Rebecca. I love your patterns, I now have quite a collection of them and I’m an old lady. Your designs are fabulous and I think they speak to many different ages. I love your energy and honesty. ❤
Bought the pattern 😁 when I looked at the pattern ai said how can Rebecca have such a huge pattern! , Amazing 😮 and very easy to pick and choose the style that you want… you are a wee dynamo 😂. Have done my swatch for Tolsta Vest fingering weight with merino and silk which I hope gives a nice drapery look. I will join your KAL.
would love to see you sorting through your yarn, maybe with thoughts on what you think of the yarn, why you like it or not. Maybe thoughts of why you bought it or plan to use it for..
Rebecca, I would want to be your bff except that I’m 55 yo so I’m going to say i want to be your favorite aunt! 😂 you are so fun to watch and I love the way you think and create and express yourself. I think we are very similar and that’s why I’m connecting with you!!! I’m about to purchase your tolsta tank pattern - I’m a little late to the game but that’s ok! I’ll try and catch up.😉 can’t wait to see more of your designs! You are an amazing designer!!! The options you give for making the design work for each person is so wonderful!!! Every designer on this planet could learn from you!!! Keep up the great work❤
Wow, another great pattern!! Thank you so much for your beautiful designs. I can't wait to make this little tank, just need to gather the yarn😁. Take care
Thank you for another set of beautiful patterns and a discount code💐. I wear my Tolsta tee all the time and have yarn set aside for two more. Looking forward to a long sleeve version.
Haha, I wish I had watched your podcast before buying the pattern this morning. I am 8h behind you and while struggling to get my three kids ready for school I purchased the pattern (because I was super keen on it) and then sent all the files to my printer before looking at it like I always do. I was wondering while the printer was still working hard many minutes later 😂 I am a size small B cup. I really didn't need to print about 50 pages or so. Oh well. Casting on later tonight! 😍
Hi Rebecca, I love the vlog style videos. It's like having a chat with a friend. Loving your patterns and I'm trying to chose which one to buy. They are all so nice. Much love ❤
not knitting related, just needed you to know you added to my vocabulary as I have been using the word 'wobble' every time I am stumped or puzzled over the past couple of weeks. I love it and am shocked at how many times I have had opportunity to use it! Have a great week!
You're such a prolific knitter, Rebecca! I appreciate you also sharing your frustrations with your projects. Im sure many of us relate, i do for sure! I have been looking forward to the tolsta long sleeve ever since I saw it on your instagram. It's so nice it's almost here ❤
Congratulations on your latest pattern release! I really enjoy listening to how you come up with pattern names… I’ve always found maps and place names fascinating. I do not think the similar sounding name to Tolsta would be confusing - it’s cool! Your certainty and energy are bound to go up and down. I think every artist has that - the darkest before dawn moments in their making. You just keep doing you! Happy sailing and knitting!! I just finished my first Dornie: LOVE. Will be making more. I was travelling a lot while I knit and I literally had people coming up to me and saying what a gorgeous pattern, who is it by…. Spread the joy - yay!
Rebecca! Don’t give up on Kipp (?) - absolutely LOVE the Herringbone! So unique, can’t wait to try it. And will appreciate it more for all your hard work on it! 👍👍👍
I agree! Hope it gets back on track soon! Is it possible that the hem is flaring out because the gauge is so strange with the herringbone pattern so you have a ended up with a lot more stitches than you’d usually need for the width of the hem? All beautiful projects as always!!x
Thanks for all the extra info. Looking forward to Kip and the other autumn mystery projects! My local yarn store group is making the Corran now too 😍 Totally know what you mean about the creative process. I’m a graphic designer and also doubt decisions part of the way through and sometimes totally hate a project for a bit then get over it. I think it’s often when we’ve been looking at it too closely/too long. Congrats on all the work on the boat too! Phew that’s a lot.
A little over a week later and I completely love the sweater again. I worked through the fit issues and now it's back in my good books. Funny how sometimes it just takes some time.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for providing so many options! These will be great alternatives for those times I bought several skeins but not enough for a full-on sweater!
Congrats on the boat you are such an inspiration. Congrats on all your designs. You just make me smile every time I see a new episode. Love you so so much.❤
this pattern is coming out at the perfect time for me, as my sister has asked me to replicate a tank top our grandmother made for her years ago... and i think the Tolsta will provide all the templates i might need to try to get it done! so looking forward to playing with it! (and then making one for me!)
Just bought your new pattern to add to my list for things to make this summer. I purchase every pattern you relase, as you are a generous and compassionate person. Your generosity is evidenced by the scope of each of your patterns in both sizes and options, including multiple renditions of each pattern which are normally sold separately. Your compassion are your past - and I'll assume future - charity donations which encourages otehrs to also share their good fortune with others. I feel blessed to be a part of your life, even if only tangentially. Plus, I look better in my Creabea creations!
I'd love to knit that t shirt. It looks like the perfect drapey baggy tee which is my favorite type of t shirt. I'd also love a fingering weight version! I find that living in Southern California, I really can't tolerate DK or higher-weight knits during summer (or most of the year for that matter). Thanks, Rebecca, the Tolsta tank pattern looks incredible.
I've just knit Corran with set in sleeves. Because I wasn't able to find shoulder shaping for size 3, I did ask for advice..nothing so I flat knit the sleeves which is very easy
Hey, were did you sent the advice to? I reply to all of my emails fairly quickly. I'm sorry if I missed it, that's very unusual. There is no shoulder shaping, it's a drop shoulder sweater.
I have been waiting for this! Already purchased even though I have no business casting on a new project.😂 maybe I'll finish something before the knit along starts.
Congratulations on the pattern launch. I’m excited for this one and look forward to joining in the KAL. I’m just finishing the second sleeve of my Tolsta Tee and am keen to wear it. I have really enjoyed your studio vlogs, I think you should keep on with them. I know you can’t please all the people all the time!
would love to see a stash dive/ sort out video, always interesting to hear thoughts on what the intention was for yarn acquisitions. Congrats on the mammoth TT release.
Rebecca, you're the queen of making such thoughtful patterns! While I haven't made any of yours yet, I admire how much variation you put into each of them. Opposite to other designers who will make 3 similar patterns and sell them individually, you put them in one for great prices. Keep up the amazing job! ❤ And the tank looks great, I was looking for v-neck loose cami, so you convinced me to buy it, especially if it can be knitted so quickly 😊 And of course right after that I bought the pattern 😂
I spent a good 10 minutes before I filmed trying to put a shirt on over the vest and being worried about having my arms out. Then I decided no one else cares but me! Much asier said that done, but I do find it easier to wear tshirts a lot of the time.
First, your hair looks awesome in this video. Second, I have been impatiently waiting for this pattern release, bought it first thing this morning. Cannot wait to cast it on ❤
great podcast, again !🎉 for the stripes: you do not need to cut the yarn after 5 rows, just push the needle to the other side and use the other yarn. knit 1 row blue purl 1 row blue knit 1 row white purl 1 row white k white p white k white k blue p blue p white
I don't cut my ends, I just go on the other end where my yarn is and knit or purl as it appears, so even if you have 2 row the same after each other , you don't see the difference, no need cutting. ♥
oh my gosh your hair is gorgeous today! curly wurly! :-) You create SO many variations of the pattern - it's so commendable and generous. since you make so many samples and have so many samples, how do you store them????
Hi Rebecca, watching your podcast quite a while and impulse bought your Tolsta Tank pattern just this second😂. I think your camisole withe the white edging will go nicly with your chanel-like Daft Days cardi, totally elegant and stylish. Okay, maybe a bit tricky with the necklines, but worth a try I would say😀. Love from Germany🥰
Enjoy the podcast - content idea - how about how you got started as a designer, how you know about garment shaping, resources you use, interview with your tech editor.
I'm so looking forward to the release of the Kip sweater. I hope the design continues to go well. Would a twisted rib give more structure to the ribbing??
I REALLY like the pickle tee! So I have some special yarn I got at a shop that closed. They only had 2 hanks and after I bought it I thought it wasn’t enough to make anything. And then I found your Tolsta tee and it’s JUST enough (I did make it out of some different yarn first). Now I’m wondering if I want to save it for your “baby drop shoulder” version. So all of that is to get to this question: does the baby drop/ pickle version take more yarn than your first short sleeve Tolsta? Thanks!
Rebecca, are you planning on releasing the pattern for the tydes sweater this winter? I didn’t hear if you mentioned it anywhere… For a content idea, how about you answering some of your poll questions from your insta stories! I love those kind of videos to listen while working on a project 😊
I can't believe it. I am just finishing up my Tolsta Tee in fingering weight (1 cm on body left and the ribbing) and I love the fit, making it in Drops Safran. Now, I was planning to do another one in stripes and boom... you present the tank. I will do the tank in stripes now, and I am sure I will totally love it. Your Tolsta Tee is an amazing tee, fun to make and pleasant fit. Thanks!
The 3x1 pattern is very similar to one recently released by Inge's Knitting Lab, similar rib, similar shoulder detail and similar range. Inge's pattern has versions for men and women (maybe also children) plus a full set of videos to cover how to get a perfect fit. I realise that similar designs are often released by different knitters without there being any copying, just trends. I mention Inge's pattern because it might suit some people (I think it's knit at a worsted gauge?). Personally I'm extremely keen on a fingering weight version, being one of those people living in a warmer climate.
Hi Rebecca. Thanks for a wonderful podcast (all of them. The vlogs are fun and your week with a designer are great too). You’re on fire my friend. And your patterns are the most thoughtful of all patterns I’ve encountered thus far. You think of every area of the garment and your audience (which is WIDE). There’s something for everyone. And I feel you are putting out content more often which is great. You’re becoming a household name (at least my husband even knows Rebecca!). It’s all good and you have more energy than anyone I know. I hope it’s paying off for you in spades and you are feeling the difference you make in the fiber community. Patricia
@@the.creabea DUH ME!!! I just bought it! It’s worth every penny. You gave us multiple versions in one pattern. Like you did with the TOLSTA Tee. Not many designers that, especially the more popular ones. I would hope that other knitters would agree with me and appreciate you providing so many different versions of the TOLSTA in one pattern for one price. Thank you!!
You r amazing...congrats on your new pattern. Thank you for going extra mile to include as many of us as possible. Thats why u r my fav designer. one of these days I hope I am picked for test as well but you r so popular LOL (will keep applying though). Congrats again🎉🎉🎉
I think just a smaller needle size. The stitch pattern uses a big needle (5mm for sport weight yarn) so I went down a size from that for ribbing, but probably should have gone down two or three.
My cashmere-allergy always shows up as eczema on the skin, basically as soon as I put something with it on my skin. Can these allergies also give hay-fever-like symptoms? Just wondering. I like these kind of Podcasts and Vlogs, it gives me something to knit to and is so relaxing!
Etsy only lets me upload 5 so the vest and square DK and 4ply are combined into one document. I thought I'd updated the info about it but maybe I need to check again.
You are so generous with your amazing patterns ……most designers would sell each version as a separate pattern ……I’ve actually got a Tolsta Tee on the needles at the moment 🎉😊
At the woolly good gathering one of your friends wore a sweater you designed with a wavy pattern and stripes. She said it was made from your left overs and would be published soon. She talked about going to the states to her son´s college graduation. I don´t know her name. But I can´t find the pattern in ravelry. What happened to it?
Yes! That's Amy. It's coming out later this year. I pushed back the date and then it felt a bit too warm weathered to release so will come back when the weather gets a bit chillier
You said you moved coasts. Do you still live in Edinburgh or did you move across Scotland? I just found out that my great grandfather was born in Wigtownshire, Scotland. It is apparently on the coast. Sounds rural. Ever heard of it?
It's easiest for the square neck and the camisole, the vest is trickier. But for each of those you start at the cast-off number (for the camisole it's the shoulder and for the square neck it's the top of the neckline) and work increases instead of decreases.
I don’t think I’ve ever bought a pattern as quickly as I bought this one. Such fabulous value, such a lovely set of designs, thanks Rebecca!
I kept everyone waiting a while! Glad you're looking forward to it!
Same!

Thanks so much. The new pattern looks fab!
Thanks looking forward to tolsta knitalong I don’t usually join them but want to finally knit a Tolsta
Thanks for all you do

I’m so excited to start my Tolsta tank.

I am so excited to hear more about the secret project with Explorer Knits and Fibers!
I'm pretty sure the yarn is on its way to me now!
I have been waiting for this! Already purchased even though I have no business casting on a new project.😂 maybe I'll finish something before the knit along starts.
Must be good when we can see our different friends wearing the different versions lol now we can copy you ;) so nice!
I'm making your Sanna cardigan and enjoying the knit so much. It's a great pattern.
So pleased to hear that!
Congratulations on the pattern launch. I’m excited for this one and look forward to joining in the KAL. I’m just finishing the second sleeve of my Tolsta Tee and am keen to wear it. This is such a fun idea. It will be messy, but why not!
Love the design of the lime top also.

The pattern is lovely. I have “granny” arms so I don’t wear sleeveless. I have purchased some of your other patterns
Me too, but I don't even care, I'm knitting the vest...no one else seems to care if they have granny arms !

Honestly I was editing and thinking, "wow, what did I do to my hair today?". Glad it was noticed!
Yes!! Can’t wait to cast on❤️

great podcast, again !🎉
for the stripes: you do not need to cut the yarn after 5 rows, just push the needle to the other side and use the other yarn.
knit 1 row blue

knit 1 row white

This is SO clever, can't believe I've never come across this before. Thank you!

Oh I LOVE that!

Rebecca, are you planning on releasing the pattern for the tydes sweater this winter? I didn’t hear if you mentioned it anywhere…

I can't believe it. I am just finishing up my Tolsta Tee in fingering weight (1 cm on body left and the ribbing) and I love the fit, making it in Drops Safran. Just purchased and can’t wait to start. I started reading the patterns but I can’t determine if this is knit in the round? Can you let me know. Thanks
It's knit in the round! All of my patterns except for Cardigans are

Hi your coupon isn’t working. It says till Sunday night and it’s Friday. Let me know if it changed. Thank you
Yup, it was the Sunday after the video came out. So the code ended on the 9th.

It is an American single crochet or an English double crochet. I live in New Hampshire, US, so I am bilingual in crochet. 😆
I'm BARELY literate in crochet so I actually have no idea. I put the needle in, I wrap, I pull the loop all the way. That's all I know
Does your flaring hem need less stitches maybe? And Rebecca, you can ramble all you like! Happy to listen.

The Tolsta is the most beginner friendly. The tshirt is a little easier than the tank

Yes! That's Amy. It's coming out later this year. I pushed back the date and then it felt a bit too warm weathered to release so will come back when the weather gets a bit chillier
Hozier inspired?? say less, I’m sold
You said you moved coasts. Do you still live in Edinburgh or did you move across Scotland? I just found out that my great grandfather was born in Wigtownshire, Scotland. It is apparently on the coast. Sounds rural. Ever heard of it?
We stayed, we moved our boat! I hadn't heard of it but it is indeed coastal, a little further south than we usually end up
@@the.creabea thank you.
Or, is it not the yarn/fiber, but possibly the dye they used for the blue yarn that you might be allergic to?
Yes! I think it might be, buuut it might also be hayfever. Think I need to pop an anti-histamine and power through.
Umm, anyone else noticed a sudden shortage of Drops Belle yarn on Wool Warehouse? Just Saying...
HAHA I would love if this was my fault.
Where is the KAL happening?
Instagram and Ravelry.
A puppy??
Maaaaybeeeee....
How can you covert this to top down?
It's easiest for the square neck and the camisole, the vest is trickier. But for each of those you start at the cast-off number (for the camisole it's the shoulder and for the square neck it's the top of the neckline) and work increases instead of decreases.
