the video actually has a lot of meaningful scenes:
-As many people said it represents the double standards between male and female idols, because EXID were censored for a thrusting choreo, while male idols even get praised for it
-Hani and LE scenes represent the male gaze vs female gaze (Hani is the ideal sweet and submissive girl that some men idealize while LE tells the guy what she actually thinks in an cool and strong way)
-The ending of the MV is a reference to the sexualization of girls (including minors!), which a filter (the blur) they can look suggestive and sexy, while in reality they are cute and innocent.
-The lyrics talk about how men often pressure women into doing things they don't want to do.

Groups like EXID is true Kpop , not like today where these young rookie groups are taking Kpop . T'ARA, Kara, GG, FX, Miss A, these are just a few of the top groups of those EXID days.

@@battleangel4833 True, but if you truly followed kpop through the 1st -5th gen. groups you can see the difference. If you can't see it, you haven't watched enough of the older generations music and style, that's why I'm saying Kpop is changing, the groups are starting out with less trained and younger members , the Kpop industry is pushing them out faster to take advantage of it's global popularity. the older generation idols trained for years, compared to today. That's why a group like XG from Japan who's members trained for 5-7 years have become a global super group of 7 members who can all sing, rap, do R&B, and dance like a pro dance team. They will prove what hard work and dedication with a super management team behind them will do. XG is unmatched and no girl group has the swag and charisma that these girls have. And that.. is my taste.

If you can hear that creepy voiced part. The guy is saying "Where do you live? Do you live alone." That was based on real stalker or crazy fan call that one of the girls received for real.

I think this video's concept was a funny take on all the censorship reactions to their previous songs especially their Up & Down video

  • @davidfrankis4905
    @davidfrankis4905 5 месяцев назад +4

Some nice Easter eggs in the video - note the way the age ratings change, the Up and Down album on the shelf near the photocopier, the way the view count goes through the roof on Solji's high note. Also, the Diesel ad (girl on a ladder flashing a security camera) behind Hyelin at 2:39.
What really elevates this MV for me is the way the censorship theme in the video and the harassment theme in the lyrics complement one another.

The video is meant to be a criticism of over censorship.
Sometimes unnecessary censorship can make something seem worse than leaving it uncensored. Example: The blurred images in the video. Solely due to them being blurred you assume they are offensive, but once the blur is removed its revealed that they're just cute innocent images.

for some context, it's worth watching the viral fan cam of Hani dancing for Up and Down. they even re did the MV due to how much that song blew up after the fan cam. i believe this is in response to both the success and criticism of Up And Down, based on objectifying women. essentially don't criticize their art if you're also objectifying them as idols, what they're doing is fun not seedy. my favourite title track i think.

You can see objectively without preconceived notions or prejudices.
I don't know if you know, but this team has no presence, so it's almost on the verge of disbanding. Because small companies are less frequently exposed to the public.
Even if you are so good, that's often the case. There are a lot of teams that disappear like that.
The reason is that the power of the agency determines the frequency of exposure to the public and expectations are focused on one side.
Of course, teams of big agencies are good, too.
This team suddenly rediscovered again on a freezing day. It received so much attention that it became popular.
It was a video uploaded by someone, but it was a little sexy. It suddenly caught the attention. So this team was reevaluated.
It's a very rare case in Korean K-pop, when a song released in the past spread to people late and gained popularity.
Similar cases include 'Brave Girls'. This is a more dramatic case for this team.
I'll write down the details in the team's video next time I have a chance.
Many of these good teams often get unfair results and disband before they become known to the public.
It's because the competition is too fierce.
Which trainee you enter and which company you debut with already determines success by more than 90%.
Of course, he made his debut through that competition rate, so of course, his competitiveness is at the highest level.
Because the most important factor in K-pop is individual charm, that is, appearance.
Members who debut in small and medium-sized entertainment companies often have better singing skills.
There was a boom in small and medium-sized entertainment companies because they saw the miracle of small and medium-sized entertainment companies.
BTS, the king of Korean K-pop. Now, 'Hive', which boasts the largest scale among the four major entertainment companies, is originally a very small 'big hit'.
Bang Si-hyuk, CEO of Big Hit, was originally an employee of JYP. He is a founding member of JYP. Two people, Park Jin-young and Bang Si-hyuk of JYP, composed the song.

Good info. Thanks for sharing. It is a shame that some of the artists from smaller companies don't get the same popularity because some of them are incredibly good.

@CoachCastTV one more interesting fact. Someone's direct cam that dramatically made this team a path to success just before disbanding. The direct cam that filmed only team member Hani.
These days, videos of only each member are uploaded on all music broadcasts.
The beginning of that was this case. Someone's direct cam. That's what changed the broadcasting industry. There was no such thing before.

    Have you ever been curious?
Why do K-pop idol pants always go up quite high to the position where their legs are exposed and their navel is covered?
    There was such censorship.
    No exposure to navels!
Interestingly, Korean broadcasting is fun, no matter how much you expose your legs, but not your navel.
    How funny is this?
In the second generation, there was no problem with navel exposure.
It's a story that goes well with the theme of this song, so talk about it.
