Ok so this is pretty random but is your profile picture John Cassian the Christian monk because it looks very similar to an Icon of Cassian that I have hanging on my wall in front of me.
HONESTLY BEST FUCKING SONG EVER WRITTEN GUYS. The song writing in this one is fucking strong! The odd time signatures, those fucking syncopations, fooling around with the upbeats and the downbeats. IT'S INSANE!!!!
Everything about this song gives me a hardon, the emotionally invested lyrics, the conflicting rhythms and out of balance patterns which is echoed from the intro to the outro. Such fantastic musical showmanship. And someone please tell me what this video has to do with anything ever.
1:35 - 2:03 best part of the whole song. The way that the two guitars and drums interweave rhythms and play off each other is just godly. Same goes for the end section, actually. Absolutely glorious
Oh my, I did not recognise Those eyes in that dress you wore Your thighs are stuck in my mind I'd like to carry them home Release, this urge needs feeding Now that's done, was it worth the fun? Tell me, could I be the one for you? I don't think I thought this through So see you around I never meant for this You know I'm damaged goods Lately I've listed the reasons why I can't move on And why I sleep in the house that we lived in For over three years now Staring at paintings, recounting the places we'd been together I tried to escape but I can't seem to shake all these pictures Of us The light up on the desk still burning bright The way I'm dressed suggests I left it on all night I'd probably done the same the night or three before Another crowded thought for clouded minds Of broken promises I'd made a million times On how to let go, breathe, and do more exercise It's getting colder as the days merge into one I best just lay my head and pray for morning sun So from this moment on, he started drifting And dreamed of colours that he'd never seen before And the all the types of fruit he'd ever tasted The air was warm, the sky was clear of water Beyond the lake were trees far as the eye could see This was the place we used to swim together Those things up on your chest look mighty comfy I best just lay my head and wait for morning sunbeams Morning The wait is over So in we go To find a home
Saw this one live in Oakland on April Fools, man did they fool me when they saved it for the latter half of the show, I had come to terms with them not playing my favorite song, pleasantly surprised when I heard it start up :)

I always thought this album brought to mind this sort of sadness mixed with nostalgic memories kind of feeling. I almost always end up thinking about either a lonely, solitary lake house or a ship lost on a turbulent sea. Warm, passionate memories mixed with loss and isolation, all while sinking into a great body of water. I feel like the songs are connected in almost a loose narrative with those kinds of themes. I always imagined a music video of one of these songs would either take place on a boat or in a decrepit house. I liked the part where the members of the band are isolated in an expanse of starry sky while stock footage of pleasant patterns and scenery plays across their faces, but I don't think I got the rest of what it was going for.
There's definitely some emo inspired parts on this album. Plus the definition of emo music is so loose to begin with, it's hard to categorise what is and isn't without displeasing someone, obviously.
im so glad to see them blowing up! when i first came across them they hardly had any views and it was perplexing- these guys have become a solid fixture on my top 3 and their new single el pastor has me more excited for their new record than I've ever been for any release. between them and invalids newest release this year is turning out to be amazing for great new music!
oh my god yes, i think if they would mix the bridge section at 2:00 and use that footage as well as a little bit of the cassini saturn footage that they used from "Space" that would make an amazing segment of an episode.
Matho rock gives some sor of satisfaction no other genre can, I never get tired of these songs, I always enjoy them, I get bored with other gendres very very quickly.

I only have one doubt, why is the number 666 accompanied by two rays like those of the n4z* ss patrol? Are you guys in lodges? Or are they just enlightened?
+Khamis1203 it could be a way of explaining how making music is like science that cant be explained just by witnessing it. then the part where its there box heads with stuff going on its just the stuff inside the heads of the musicians..they all have similar images but slightly different ( representing there individual takes on the track) just like playing in a band. or its just a visually stimulating video to go along with the pretty music.
Just found this like 3 days ago and I've listened to it hundreds of times now.
If Bon Iver and Mars Volta had a child......
It only gets better (like a fine wine)
I thought this was math rock, not chemistry rock.
This is a beautiful comment.
+Sam Dickerson That is a beautiful surname.

if you're referring to the weird pseudoscience/chem experiments, watch closely and you can see they're trying to concoct a love potion.
gorgeous bass line. I get lost in it every time i listen to this
It's absolutely breathtaking. Especially during the bridge.

I was abt to comment something abt this but you nailed it. I had to replay it to listen to every part individually
Definitely the best part to see live too, the whole crowd always screams along
More of a 0:34 - 1:15 fan

Now that's done, was it worth the fun?
Tell me, could I be the one for you?
I don't think I thought this through
So see you around
I never meant for this
You know I'm damaged goods
Lately I've listed the reasons why I can't move on
And why I sleep in the house that we lived in
For over three years now
Staring at paintings, recounting the places we'd been together
I tried to escape but I can't seem to shake all these pictures
Of us
The light up on the desk still burning bright
The way I'm dressed suggests I left it on all night
I'd probably done the same the night or three before
Another crowded thought for clouded minds
Of broken promises I'd made a million times
On how to let go, breathe, and do more exercise
It's getting colder as the days merge into one
I best just lay my head and pray for morning sun
So from this moment on, he started drifting
And dreamed of colours that he'd never seen before
And the all the types of fruit he'd ever tasted
The air was warm, the sky was clear of water
Beyond the lake were trees far as the eye could see
This was the place we used to swim together
Those things up on your chest look mighty comfy
I best just lay my head and wait for morning sunbeams
Morning
The wait is over
So in we go
To find a home

I love Delta Sleep, but it frequently makes me sad. Reminds me of a particular lost love. Ahh...
this is quite literally my favorite song ever made
Is this still your favorite song?

That bass line gives me life
This album is a serious game-changer in the emo/math rock genre.
This is def not emo.
There's definitely some emo inspired parts on this album. Plus the definition of emo music is so loose to begin with, it's hard to categorise what is and isn't without displeasing someone, obviously.
MyEverythingBurrito I agree it has emo influences. Not to be mistakened with punk emo, but Midwest emo kinda if I'm correct
Wtf is mathrock
As much as I wanna disagree... There are for sure some emo undertones to this record
Just bloody wonderful.
That is all.
im so glad to see them blowing up! when i first came across them they hardly had any views and it was perplexing- these guys have become a solid fixture on my top 3 and their new single el pastor has me more excited for their new record than I've ever been for any release. between them and invalids newest release this year is turning out to be amazing for great new music!

this genre is completely untouched in 30 years. That's neat.

Great music, It's been awhile since I've found a good math rock band! Time to love this genre again!
I love it when mathy songs groove like this.
The second part shoulda went on for like another 5 minutes. So good and soothing
The only bad thing about this song is that it's too short.
can we get this on an episode of Adult Swim's "Off the Air"
oh my god yes, i think if they would mix the bridge section at 2:00 and use that footage as well as a little bit of the cassini saturn footage that they used from "Space" that would make an amazing segment of an episode.
Garibubu Princess the irony in this comment is palpable
Man this bass line slaps so hard, unless you have small hands. If you got tiny hands you can almost forget about learning it.
Matho rock gives some sor of satisfaction no other genre can, I never get tired of these songs, I always enjoy them, I get bored with other gendres very very quickly.

fucking great. what kind of guitars are those
I'm not a huge guitar guy but I think those are fender jaguar's with p90 pickups
They're telecasters with humbuckers. Jaguars have the same body type as the Jazzmaster.
