@@Cassapphic Pretty much. I've never seen Trump play wild though so it might be interesting to see.
Not only did he hit legend in less then a month on a free account he also had to go through all the apprentice ranks. Actually insane
He also had a pretty insane WR with control warlock, which is pretty much universally regarded as a terrible deck.
To be fair apprentice ranks carried him by giving him a huge star bonus because of destroying some noobs (and some not so noobs)
@@harrygarris6921 Well I think "terrible" is a strong word. Control warlock is mediocre and not great in the meta currently but it's not "terrible". Terrible is like a 37% winrate. . Control warlock is just okay. Its winrate is just above 50%. Any deck with a winrate near 50% is not terrible lol.
And trust me, I know terrible. I played Freeze Shaman when KotfT came out. THAT was terrible.
But I do agree that Trump's win rate with the deck was awesome
@@Wilsbourne Well I guess it depends on what you consider to be terrible. Also VS has control warlock at a 46.7% wr. I tend to trust their wrs more because hsreplay limits you to just viewing performance at low ranks unless you have the premium version.
@@harrygarris6921 Okay, that's fair. But a 47% win rate still isn't terrible. It's just fringe, mediocre, and only really shines in specific match ups (like vs priest). And oftentimes, decks that require decent amounts of skill and general game sense suffer in terms of win rate simply due to most players not being good at the game.
But yeah, it's not like any deck with under a 50% win rate is terrible. Decks with under a 40% win rate are terrible. Realistically I don't think it's appropriate to describe decks with above a 45% win rate as terrible.
The hilarity that is Trump realizing he had more free packs that he didn't open was peak Trump.

Jaraxxus vs Jaraxxus is basically Star Platinum vs The World. They're both the same 'stand'.

And each deck literally has SOUL fragments. Stands are a reflection of their souls.

Lol this had to have been the fastest I've seen anyone go from piloting a new account from start to legend. Well done Trump. The series was an absolute blast.
I'VE DONE it in 2 weeks. doesnt take much effort. if u just craft the busted deck. and then climb to d5. and then it takes a good 3 or 4 days to hit legend.
Guy on reddit made it in 5 days with fresh new account. Trump was pretty slow tbh

@@projectx5154 Trump was slow because of how the deckbuilding chips fell. If he had ended up in aggro hunter or something, somehow I think he would have climbed much faster than this fatiguing control deck
Fantastic series, Trump! The length of the apprentice ranks made it seem almost impossible, but the star boost and genuine skill really pushed it over. Sad to see it end, but this just really proved how far you can get with f2p btw in current Hearthstone.
Trump had been saying in VOD's for weeks that his MMR must be high level legend but his chat always laughed at him.
And then the next night, despite Trump doing something most if not all his viewers couldn't do, they were back to acting like he didn't even know how to play Hearthstone.
You just can't win against Twitch chat.

Madman can instantly get on Rank 273 Legend with a completely green account and chat still makes fun of him
Tbf it is a tough pill to swallow that the guy who forgot to play his strongman like 10 times until he started looking at the button is a better player than you.
At 15:50 deck tracker mistakenly thinks Reckoning is ruled out for some reason, probably due to the infernal and Alex dealing 6/8 damage to each other while the minion that made the attack (Alex) survived, but the secret actually procs at 16:38 on the ogre anyway. Pretty interesting bug on the tracker's end.
Reckoning on Deck Tracker is bugged. If Firebrand hits a minion three times with it's spellburst effect it'll mark off on Deck Tracker but not proc the secret as well. I assume the same is true for Imprisoned Antaen/Priestess of Fury/Scav Shivarra.

I am playing on and off since Ungoro. I just hit legend for the first time this month. Tbf I only play shaman and in wild... so a lil bit of an unorthodox player
Hitting legend in Hearthstone really isn't "hard", it's time consuming. Even a player with a 51% win rate will eventually hit legend, they just need to play enough games. I highly doubt you play as much as Trump so it's natural that you don't make it to legend.

This series was so good! Professor V was really with a insanely high MMR to end at 273 after reaching legend at end of the season.
I think you are one of the few people i could watch doing something like this and be entertained and amazed the whole way through. Congratulations madman, you really deserve this and confirming your theory about your MMR (which i had come to the same conclusion around the time you theorised it)
Its amazing how good the free to play rewards are nowadays compared to the knights of rhe frozen throne free 2 play run.
this was an amazing series and was super fun to watch, amazing job Trump.
And the people crying that this isnt a true f2p run because he played good decks with.the free resources he got... I can see why you guys have never reached legend, and that is all right! but dont go crying that you cant get to legend while playing unoptimal decks on purpose and goofing around. What matters is that you enjoy the game and what this series proved is that you get more than enough resources in a month to build pretty good decks if thats what you want to do.
Its all about the attitude you take!

Really fun series to watch, i havent played hearthstone since forever and its amazing how much stuff you get for free nowadays, this honestly has inspired me to start playing HS again.

I know its cool and all but... me and my friends were watching these videos (we all play f2p) and we noticed that he got a bunch of GREAT cards. Its rare for f2p players to own those. I think f2p-to-legend journey is feasible but it needs a hell lot of luck when you open that packs.

@@collin6691 i *personally* think that saying its a skill testing card is just bad, at the end of the day you are just hoping he has it so you played around it and if he didnt have it then its a missplay, not like meteorite that was a few years back when you needed to position and if he didnt have it, it wouldnt be a missplay, just positioning. or the hunters crushing walls
@@collin6691 I don’t see why there’s skill in playing around it compared to playing around flamestrike? It’s just AoE and punishes over committing certain types of board but it’s clearly way too good for the cost (though I’m tempted to say alone it wouldn’t be bad, but you had also 4 mana destroy 3 minions, double twisting, 3 mana deal 2, 4 ways to deal 3, sometimes siphon, and ofc ysharj and tamsin to generate extra copies of all these. Basically warlock has just a critical mass of removal and any deck that tries to out value it just walks in to tickatus or jaraxus. Only other way is the burn strategy which if you notice, every deck in the game is right now (other than pala which tbh is overrated because people suck playing around secrets). Sorry to rant about lock, but it’s just such an annoying meta and I think it’s because of lock
@@joshyman221 its not, its countered with fast decks, histeria(and the other) is a needed card, remove it and lock falls(idk prob), if lock falls fast decks loose more often, then they fall and it wil just create a different meta, its not bad but if you had a fast or lock deck you loose dust.

OTK Demon Hunter is super underrated. But thats because its extremely difficult to play. The ammount of games Ive thrown is crazy, and it throws the stats off.
Its pretty consistant kill turns 6-8, especially if you play Lorekeeper/Sightless Watcher in your deck.
Loremaster Polekeeper or whatever the 4/5 reorder your deck is called is like having a 3rd hand of guldan in your deck and makes sure you get the discount on the most important card to get the discount on - the 2/6 lifesteal guy

I wonder if non-legend players realize how impressive it is that he's top 500 legend. Before the ranked update I found it very difficult to break top 1000 legend. And in the new ranked system I hover around 6-7k, 273 is mental

139 games according to decktracker. If we assume avarage time is 10 minutes per game that would be 1390 minutes ~ 23 hours, but becuase those were warlock games i think ~30 hours

Your star bonus at the start of the season is based on how well you did the previous season. Even if you hit low legend, you'll run out of bonus stars by the time you hit platinum 1 in the following season, but if you reach really high legend, you'll get enough bonus stars to make it back to legend before they run out. Because Trump's previous "season" was the beginner ranks, when he entered normal ranks, they assigned him bonus stars based on his MMR, which was high enough to be equivalent to top 300 legend.

You get bonus stars based on your mmr, a hidden skill rating each player has. The higher it is the more bonus stars, trump got 11 meaning his mmr was already at high legend when he got out of beginner
