    The tie in table tennis is supremely stupid!

    Pretty typical for ITTF. For example, their inconsistency on how to enforce service rules really boggles my mind.

    It's like the group fase in the world cup of football, there are some team's that in that last round are already eliminated, but they still play cuz it's important to decide the results of the teams above them. So it's not like ITTF made something completely nonsense, this method is kinda common in the world of sports

    I agree with the players it’s gut wrenching to watch, can’t imagine playing

    First of all it boggles the mind how a professional organization can hold a tournament without thinking through the rules. Second, why would they try to change the rules from a normal format that's used in countless other tournaments all over the world. We're they trying to change things up to make it more interesting? That would be a big fat FAIL!

    What was ITTF thinking when he did this?

    The rules are made by the kindergarten kids... sometimes it's also nice to play without pressure 🤣

    This system has more sense for teams competition like the mixed teams tournament made in this year, in which I liked the system, but on singles matches is misleading

    The rules established for this World Cup in Macao were as delusional as it is stupid. Why play on 4 sets with possible equality. And what about the sets played unnecessary when the elimination is acquired, 3 months before the Olympic Games? Thank you ITTF, The players had to appreciate !

    Groth must be ridiculously mentally fragile & unstable if something like this affects his 'mental health'....

      Don't mind his kind of talk. It's Millennialism, nothing more. EVERYONE wants to claim to be a victim of something, gets you a lot of likes. Groth was treated poorly by ITTF, but not tragically abused.

    Ittf do appear to be pretty good in the “balls up”. Dept Again. Ranking points only a year or so ago. What drivel tbat was for several montbs….

    First the ITTF rankings now the playing format?? Come on ITTF the sports is nearly struggling to prosper in the media aspect and you thought this would help? Tsk...

    TT is a pathetic sport because of ITTF. Money never pay out to players. Mix up all rubbers type play together. Junk rubber like LP, SP, all play. Go play tennis better without table.

      Maybe they can make the ball even bigger. Let's say: Twice the current size. And even less grippy. So thy will lose the rest of the elderly players with more feeling than power.

    Esta regla ubiera sido muy buena si clasificarán dos por grupo...pero al clasificar uno no tiene ningún sentido. Deben ser los mismos que cambiaron el angulo de la camara en los torneos wwt

    I expected that with the departure of Adham Sharara (the guy that made the most damage to the sport with the stupid rules modifications) things would improve, but it seems that the efforts to destroy the game have gained traction again... it is a shame that one of the most beautiful sports has had the worst leadership throughout the last 25 years

    Difference of points won / lost is the correct calculation.
    The previous method of calculation is wrong.

  • @24ghosh24
    @24ghosh24 5 месяцев назад +1

    Groth was definitely 1 coz his points difference was better too.

    • @CH-mk8hw
      @CH-mk8hw 5 месяцев назад

      Harimoto has 2 more win points and lost 2 more points because he did not win 11 to something, but 13 to 11. This means his win is weaker win than Groth's win which are always 11 to something. It is definitely wrong to use # of win points, instead of using Points Win to Point loss ratio. The rule should be # of games win. If the same # of games win, then compare PW/PL ratio, instead of comparing # of points win.

    I am not all knowing and neither is no one here. But why did they go to the tournament if everyone seemingly agrees the format is not good? Are they under contract or something?

      ITTF has a recent new stupid rule pointed out by Quadri Aruna, which is that all players must go to certain tournaments as decided by ITTF otherwise they will be deducted ranking points as a penalty. Only exceptions are if they are injured or sick and get a medical doctor's note. Dumb policy by ITTF, which is ruining the sport by not caring about it's players. Quadri Aruna pointed out, if they have other obligations, such as club obligations they can't fulfill them if a tournament that they are forced to go to gets in the way.
