    Aaron Gordon’s dunk over mascot sitting in the air is the greatest dunk of all time IMO. It had difficulty, creativity, air time and precision.

    I think I'm honestly more impressed with Spud Webb than anyone else. Anyone who is 6'10" can jump, dunk, and make it flashy. Webb's dunking required insane precision timing. He's barely getting up there. But the fact that he is at 5'7" and delivering those dunks is insanely impressive to me.

      It's insane because it looks like a standard one-handed dunk. He didn't alley oop it, two hand it, didn't spin, didn't put it through his legs, nothing particularly impressive until you realize that he didn't *just* dunk the ball, he put his WHOLE FOREARM in the net with it and hung there. Just about everyone in the NBA can dunk the ball one-handed. Only someone with Carter's creativity and hops could pull off what he did.

      Wilt, kareem, Dr J, Magic, Bird, Big O were considered better than him at that time even when he had his first 3 peat.
      Talking about Spud Webb, I get it, his non dunk contest career wasn't as lucrative as some of the other past winners. So that could be a contributing factor to the perceived notion that he is underrated. His height can't be held against him, coz he always had those hops.
      If u ask me whom do I consider as underrated - it's without a doubt - Dwight Howard. He has had the most creative dunks of all time and still no one considers him in the league of - Vince Carter, Jason Richardson, Dominique, Jordan, Lavine, Gordon. Its a travesty.

He ran the last leg for his team - and came away the fastest runner of the day, and made up considerable distance to win. This video made me think of that day. How I wish I had been able to see it, instead of only hear and read about it. I was a single mom and had to work. My son was an amazing athlete. ❤️

    Vince Carter is unquestionably the greatest dunker of all time. He marked the beginning of the modern dunk contest. He had the perfect combination of athleticism, power, finesse. creativity, and swagger. All the other dunkers in this video have some of these but not all. People like to bring up Jason Richardson, Zach Lavine, and Aaron Gordon as they have all performed dunks that are more difficult from a technical standpoint, but they didn't have the same flair that VC had. If we were just considering dunk contests then I would admit that VC only barely edges out and all these guys would be in the same conversation.
    However, if you also consider in-game dunks, then VC blows EVERYONE out of the water and it's not even close.

    • @wuhanclan
      @wuhanclan 6 лет назад +8

      C'mon now. You seriously gonna compare Dominique Top 100 vs Vince Carter Top 100? I get it was the 80s and there is less footage to work with but it's obvious that Vince's repertoire of dunks is much larger. To be fair, in the 80s, the stuff that Nique was doing was considered very creative at the time. It's why I give Zach Lavine and Aaron Gordon credit for having the most difficult dunks we've yet seen at the NBA level (obviously dedicated pro dunkers like Flight Bros guys have come up with crazier stuff). Was Nique the best power dunker of all time? Absolutely. But as an overall package, he's just not as impressive as Vince.

      Richardson is one of the best ever but he had a certain stiffness about him compared to VC and MJ. He just was not as fluid in the air as them, something lacked. Plus he was one dimensional as he could ONLY dunk off two feet, and most of his dunks were variations of VC's.

      The only thing that makes them insane is because of the fact that the man was small. The dunks are lame otherwise. I've seen Nate Robinson dunk over so many people in-game that these Spud Webb dunks are kinda just... ok

      Ludwig Vonn I don’t think a lot of u younger guys can imagine or think about the impact & amazement seeing a 5’7” guy doing dunks like this in 86. He’s 2 to 3 inches shorter than Robinson. I’m 44. Jordan, Niq, Spudd, are my childhood. They change the whole dunking game. Jordan with his gracefulness, Dominique with his powerfulness, Spudd with his nonchalantness. We are talking about the early & mid 80’s. It was unthinkable to us to see the things these guys were doing. U gotta respect it. They’re far from lame.

      @soldier2009 Wrong. The guy who dunks alone is always more impressive than the one who is jumping over people, grabbing ball from their heads. You can always see the latter pushing down on the lower guy getting that extra air time. 2016 was judged perfectly.
