Took a 2L version out, surprised how good it was. Also don’t get the criticism of the CVT, found it smooth and responsive. Very relaxing to drive and enough fun to put a smile on your face.
You prolly dont give a shit but if you're bored like me during the covid times you can watch pretty much all the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. Been binge watching with my gf these days =)
I wish you’d mention the five year warranty, which says a lot about the kind of reliability that Toyota is renowned for; something the premium brands simply don’t offer.
I bought one in April and am amazed still, that six months later, there is still no Android or Apple support. The car itself has been OK, getting about 100KM to 4.5 L of petrol but when driven at 120Kph, that drops to 5.5 Ltrs/100 Km pretty much same as the previous diesel I had. The road holding is sporty and precise on tight corners but you will get enough warning before it gets loose and it is easy to reign in again if you have gone over that limit. Comfortable for driver and front seat passenger but back seat space is a little cramped with a poor view if you are around the 5Ft 9 inch to 6Ft mark.
Hi@@thodoriskonstantopoulos3691, I would be surprised if we do get it at all, to be honest, as a free upgrade anyway, but I would not be inclined to hold my breath waiting for it to come along anytime shortly.
@@Mike-pl1dz that whould be disappointing ! One of the disadvantage of the new corolla is the infotainment system (as the reviews says) im still waiting for the delivery (3.5 months ) i hope the car will be good as everybody says!
Just purchased a 2020 model after having a Auris hybrid for 3 years completely different car to drive in comparison really impressed with the mpg 60 + and the feel of it while driving is good especially when overtaking compared to the Auris very pleased with it
Just buy the Touring version (estate) looks better , more boot space. Also after so much complaining Toyota this month has upgraded the infotainment system to Apple / Android car play.
2.0L Corolla might have a small boot, but fits my golf clubs, without taking clubs out of my bag and placing at all angles. Like I have to do in a VW Golf.
I don’t like the dashboard look . Just my preference . As he mentioned sat navigation is not as responsive. Apple Car play is a must IMO . It does sound quiet enough , can hardly hear the engine Plus point is it’s self charge . Other car brands should make them . Gives options to people who want self charge or plug ins
Thanks for this vid. I feel atracted by this car. No belts to change, no clutch, etc, but what about changing the litium batteries after some 10 or 12 years? It could well be more expensive than two distribution belt changes...
Luis I don’t know what country you are based in but it’s worth asking the dealerships. I’ve got a GR Sport on order and the batteries have a 15 year warranty on them providing an approved dealer does the servicing
They aren't lithium but an older nickel battery technology better suited to the reality of a self charging hybrid. It isn't a CVT in the old sense but Atkinson cycle.
@ i have driven hybrids and EVs all of whch had a sungle planetary géar that takes you from 0 mph to maximum speed, which is by nó meánscoil a cvt; something I have driven in the Honda Jazz and hated.
I agree it's a handsome design and the interior really surprised me as it looks lovely, but the minute I heard no car play options and a CVT I was gone.
Thanks for the the info,it's just that all I've driven and want to drive are manual's but I think it's impossible to get in a hybrid unless it's a super car. Have a great weekend man ☘️.
I drive that 1,8 as a taxi, its a ok car, quite noisy pn highway, unconfortable seats, otherwise cool. I would recommend buy the 2 liter cause 1.8 leaks power. Find the styling of this car awesome, dont like the new model
Last night I had a lift in a Toyota Auris hybrid of about 2 hours. The car was almost brand new but was incredibly uncomfortable. It was noisy, had a poor ride and was incredibly jerky; every time the driver lifted off, it slowed down. The interior was ugly and of low quality. This Corolla will have to be a very different car to be competitive. I don't agree with your summary of the styling; it looks awkward and very Japanese.
Yep it's noisy as hell. Shame on Toyota. Yes budget car etc, but this level of noise is like in B segment. Unaceptable. An exterior looks much better than an interior which looks nice but quite plastic.
You are right about the auris quality, auris gen 1 was much better. Now Corolla stepped up the game and these cars are really good. Noise level subjective, road surface, tyres, engine loads, all cars does make noise. For jerky drive never caused by the car , Toyota hybrids are the smoothest cars in the world

@Eugene Gannon Definitely, have been using instaflixxer for months myself :)
This is the best hatch to buy at the moment if you don’t want to buy full electric car
I got one 6 months ago and is absolutely wonderful! The ECTV-gear is outstanding.
I wish you’d mention the five year warranty, which says a lot about the kind of reliability that Toyota is renowned for; something the premium brands simply don’t offer.
It's 10 years or first 100,000 miles now as long as you get it serviced with a Toyota dealer.

Do you know if we 're going to get android auto in europe; they said about the end of 19' but no news yet

Just ordered my 2021. Picking up end of May :)
Did you have good luck with it?

Love my Corolla Hatchback!
I've just bought a 2021 GR 2.0 estate. It's fantastic. Comfortable, quiet and is doing +50 mpg.

What transmission tunnel ? .... It's a front wheel drive car !!
Can you remove the back seats that fold down to level it out?
I'd be all over this if they offered the hatchback in the US.

Can’t you just change the affected individual cells? Not the whole battery. Costs around £30-£40 per cell

Only 50 to 55mpg!? Hyundai ioniq does better mpg
omg he havent heard of the floor thing u can put in so have NO load lip!!!

Very surprised at the mpg, 50-55 is not a lot better then a ford focus 1 lite petrol only
