I love how amazing you are at drawing different body types! I see a lot of artists that stick with drawing one certain body shape, and with you I don’t see that!!!
So thankful this was recommended to me! I've been going through an art block and this is unfortunate because I have an art project that needs to be finished, but after seeing this I now have some inspiration! Thank you! I hope you get accepted ( I've only known you for 8:00, but I'm positive you'll get in) 💛
my dream college is CalArts, but I'm really scared even though I'm still in middle school :,) you can do it I believe in you, these arts are so good and inspiring.
After watching this, I feel obligated to comment, I can’t leave without telling you, that you are ABSOLUTELY Amazing, I don’t know why but this video made so happy and inspired me to finish my own sketchbook, to keep going to my classes and get better, you are an inspiration for me! You have no idea! Please keep doing what you do! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow, filling a sketchbook like this takes some serious dedication and hard work! I applied to various art schools this fall and I know that calarts animation has one of the most demanding apps. Good luck!!!
every single one of your drawings is just stunning and so aesthetic, really pleasing to watch and colorful i have no words!! i wish i could one day get on your level, you really inspire me to draw more, thank you 💕
It's amazing that I could see every single one of these pages turned into their own animated short. SO much expression and emotion in each character and location you drew.
Wow, did you really fill two sketchbooks in three months?? It usually takes me so much longer. Do you have any tips to speed up sketchbook completion time? Also, love the work, it's beautiful and inspiring (motivates me to let loose a bit with my art.)
Having a deadline helps!! But also not worrying so much about what goes into the pages - loosen up! I have a list of stuff to draw if I'm stuck which helps keep me going during art block. Just saying it took over a year to complete my previous two sketchbooks which had the same number of pages so this speed isn't off limits to anyone :D
I’m about a year and a half away from being able to try and get into CalArts and seeing all these different amazing artists’ work is so amazing and motivates me a lot! You’re art by far is some of my favorite that I’ve seen, very creative and beautiful!
Viewing your artwork has opened new doors for my future sketchbook. The energy is jumping beyond the inserts!! What a fun experience. An extra texture I include in my books are pressed flowers and leaves. Thanks again for sharing your skills. Your books are in my top 3 favorites.
Ahhhh meppity your sketchbooks are so beautiful!!!! That architecture tho!!! Your character designs blow me away and all of the dance study pages are so inspiring!!! You’re the best of us, congrats, you’re definitely getting in!!!
This sketchbook is honestly FIREE 🔥 i love how you used both pages mostly all throughout the book. Not too many artists on youtube that i watch do that that often. And i love how you added in extra paper into your work to keep it going on certain pages. Its very fun and inspiring.
I am in awe at this sketchbook. I sincerely hope you get in since your skill is amazing. I am thinking of applying to calarts in the future too, and this is my favorite sketchbook until now. I am amazed at everything and I love it seriously. You’ve won yourself a new follower, your art is amazing and I look forward on what you can create on the future.
This is probably my favorite sketchbook flip through of all time! You're real talented!!! If cal art does not accept you they are missing out on such great talent! Also when I realized that you made the music too, I am just overwhelmed, keep doing what you're doing!!!
you are the most unique, talented, just outright beautiful artist i have EVER seen in my entire life. i want to learn all that i can from you to become a better artist. thank you because your art just made my day:)))
If this sketchbook wasn't accepted, what hope is there for the rest of us. You drew in this with an awareness borne from the the fact that this was the submission that you hope would guarantee success and it shows. There is a variety of mediums that show that despite not being your favoured you can do each well (I can't tell which you prefer). Additional there is a chameleon of art styles that vary like they're from a different entity. Split personality maybe. All those sheep, you make the countryside look like a postcard from a country I'm eager to visit. This is just amazing, if studio animation doesn't work then you have so much else to offer.
Character design ✓ Story boarding ✓ Animal drawings ✓ Architecture ✓ Colours ✓ Life drawing ✓ HOW AREN'T YOU EMPLOYED YET?! WHO NEEDS CALARTS IF THEY ARE THAT SKILLED
very nice! good luck, realize you are already successful in advancing your talent by applying. When my daughter applied to SUNY New Paltz for art she had to bring in a large portfolio of her work, including professional photographs of items that could not travel well (her amazing art teacher did that for his students). She was assigned a review and interview day and when her portfolio was being reviewed by the art team we were taken on a campus tour. It was quite a stressful day but she was accepted, just as her older brother had been years before. Nowadays with digital art and design there are more opportunities for successful careers for art and design majors than at any other time in history. Don't forget to enjoy your youth and school experience whenever you can. Take care to cultivate close dependable friendships as you each will be the lifelines you need when dealing with the stress of the classes and assignments, particularly a senior project if you have one. Looking back you will realize that these years flew by.

This sketchbook is absolutely gorgeous- and I wanted to ask- do you have any tips for applying to calarts/ tips for creating a good sketchbook? Thank you- and good luck!
Snowy Thank you!! I‘m no expert on sketchbooks but after looking at a bunch of other calarts sketchbooks for the last four years, there’s some things that I feel need to be included:
Literal stuff to include:
- life drawing (nude and people in environments)
- environment studies
- animal studies
- layouts/concepts
- character exploration
- movement studies
Stuff you should demonstrate you can do:
- draw characters that have a sense of movement/life
- create and draw solid objects that work in a three dimensional space
- understand perspective
- understand anatomy (preferably not just of humans) they like skeletal studies for that.
- push shape and form to make unique characters
- use a variety of mediums. You can focus on a few as a specialty like me with my fineliners and don’t worry about colour too much. Understanding value is much more important.
- tell a story. It can be as short as a single frame or as long as a full length storyboard!
- develop your work from studies into explorations and more creative ideas. For example the tree people in my yellow book. I drew the trees then created characters based on them then drew the characters interacting with each other.
^^^ I feel this may be one of the most important yet overlooked points - people can be incredibly talented technically but it doesn’t offer much if the sketchbook lacks flowing ideas and is more like random scattered, undeveloped doodles.
Other stuff to be aware of:
- don’t worry about how your stuff looks!! Be experimental and loosen up. A sketchbook isn’t for finished work (I know mine has a lot of polished pages and I’m worried about that - don’t be like me)
- they want to see the inner workings of your brain. Write notes/diagrams/connect points and build on previous ideas. Cross stuff out but don’t hide it. Maybe comment on what you just drew with a post-it.
- they want to be able to see *you* through the book. If you keep in mind that by the end of looking through your sketchbook, the admissions person should have a decent idea of who you are, your interests, your home, your personality then you’ll be on the right track. I tried to focus mostly on my life in rural England and my travels.
Hope this helps! I might edit this comment if I think of more points.

Thank you! I hope you get accepted ( I've only known you for 8:00, but I'm positive you'll get in)
💛
Wips out the 2nd book.
Im like oh wait theres more. What a pleasant suprise
these sketchbooks are absolutely stunning, I can tell how much work you put into them. Amazing job wow my jaw was dropped the entire time.
my dream college is CalArts, but I'm really scared even though I'm still in middle school :,)
you can do it I believe in you, these arts are so good and inspiring.
Check out laguna college of art and design!
I love everything you do with sticky notes. They always make me chuckle. Good luck !!
I can see how long he/she has trained her self to improve her drawing. I admire him/her.
Knowing i will most likely not get this much progress done in 2 years is filling me with determination and an urge to try. Thank you!
I just watched this with my 6 year old daughter and she’s spotted so many details in your art that I’ve missed. She loved it and is super inspired.
Wow, filling a sketchbook like this takes some serious dedication and hard work! I applied to various art schools this fall and I know that calarts animation has one of the most demanding apps. Good luck!!!
I can see how long he/she has trained her self to improve her drawing. I admire him/her.
All the art is so dynamic and diverse and yet it all has this little charm to it that ties it all together
every single one of your drawings is just stunning and so aesthetic, really pleasing to watch and colorful i have no words!! i wish i could one day get on your level, you really inspire me to draw more, thank you 💕
It's amazing that I could see every single one of these pages turned into their own animated short.
Stunning work!!! You’ve worked so hard for this moment, I wish you the best of luck into getting into CalArts. You deserve it :)
I can see how long he/she has trained her self to improve her drawing. I admire him/her.
That isn't a sketch book, that is a coffee table art book. DAMN! Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
Your art is so lovely, the colors you use are beautiful too!! I’m glad you finally finished your sketchbook 😁
I don't think I've ever seen sketchbooks with so much PERSONALITY!!!!
That subscribe to PewDiePie at the end is just, *muah*.
Very 👏 Nice 👏
Dang it, shouldn't have gone to the comments >:(
Sketchbook 👏 review 👏
@@lonliestfudanshi3170 oh, brother..
LonliestFudanshi oof yeah. was enjoying the video but that bit at the end was a major yikes especially considering recent events
This person clearly draws A LOT. I wish I was this motivated as a kid.
Hey good luck!! I’m really confident your gonna get in as I’ve watched your growth!!!
This is just amazing, if studio animation doesn't work then you have so much else to offer.
these are the single most coolest sketchbooks i’ve ever seen
Wow. This is the best sketchbook tour I have ever seen. I am in awe.

HOW AREN'T YOU EMPLOYED YET?! WHO NEEDS CALARTS IF THEY ARE THAT SKILLED
Your art style is the most liveliest and unique thing I’ve ever seen.
very nice! good luck, realize you are already successful in advancing your talent by applying.
Farmwife this is truly valuable - thank you very much!!! Great advice as I enter my 18th year of life today! ☺️
Your sketchbook has just became my favourite. It’s filled with new ideas and amazing imagination

This is actually the second time I've watched this all the way through. I am passionate about your art. It's colorful, free, creative, inspiring, interesting. It's self-contained. I don't need to think about anything else when I'm looking at it because it just fills my mind. Thanks for sharing!
OMYGOODNESS YOU GOT ACCEPTED INTO *THE CALARTS?!* CONGRATULATIONS!!! Thats my dream college x) I want to go there when im an adult! :D!
Started watching more art videos again and this pops up! Your stuff is amazing and I’m not joking when I say it looks the best I’ve seen on RUclips full stop.
I had your notifications set and never ot any notifications for your videos. Well done these are fantastic and Good Luck Anya! :D
The bench sketches are so cute!
It looks amazing! Every single page is a piece of art. You should be very proud of your work.
Hello Anya, my jaw dropped while watching this video. Your work is amazing!! And I was even more surprised when I found out that you are 17! You are a real talent! and you mentioned in one of your comments that you are self taught artist. Could you let us know how did you start, which methods you followed at the very beggining? That would be really great If you can shot a video for beginners who are into sketching/painting. Or you can give us some tips below this comment. How many hours were you practicing? We would love to hear your methods. Thank you and wish you the best!
My Gosh!! Absolutely the most gorgeous sketchbook tour I have ever had! I was awed the moment u started..
slow down, your art is to amazing to miss!
First video of her's I've ever seen. Blew me away. Her lighting is so realistic it almost looks digital...pops right off the page! Love it. New subscriber
im setting ur drawings as a skill i want to achieve one day! they’re soooo amazing thank you so much for sharing 🥺💖
btw im not an art student im a medical student but i really loveeee drawing as a hobby 💕
Soooo satisfying to look at, especially the scenes and backgrounds and lighting...just everything...
Im making a few sketchbooks to apply next year. This video really helped show me to enjoy the process of keeping a sketchbook rather than thinking of it as a chore. The amount of creativity you infused in your observational work is rad and showed me to the importance of showing my creative side rather than just my observational work. btw you did this music!? professional quality
someday meppity's going to be big. she's gonna create an amazing kids tv show that's unlike any other and hopefully i'll be able to show my kids her work and tell them that i've been following this girl since she went to college :)
