    They should be checked yearly?

      @Kitty8791 25 дней назад +1

      They need to be checked monthly - visual inspection (indicator light), check battery, & replace any expired/unsealed components (like the pads). There should be an annual inspection of any medical equipment by biomed or a certified technician. They will need to produce these records.

    OMG. Schools must check to make sure their defibrillators are working. I hope they weren't making the kids run in this heat!

      It was a young teenager not „a baby“. But it is horrible to loose a child and especially at such a young age!

    Was CPR applied?

      Odds are probably, you have to understand that teachers and students aren’t responsible for how the school is run.
      I guarantee there was someone there who was cpr certified and attempted but without a working defib they can’t restart the heart. The board and whomever is running this school has failed these students royally.

      Exactly. Sounds like they did nothing. CPR saves lives.

    Defibrillators especially automated defibrillators or only used for certain rhythms. All cardiac arrest do not call for a shock. If these devices are to be utilized they should checked for function daily. You must have more information to assess this. Usually everytime they are used by checking or otherwise the instrument records the effort.

    Because no preventative maintenance due to dead batteries! This is a perfect example of willful ignorance regarding a child's death! Typical of HISD.

  • @Celisar1
    @Celisar1 25 дней назад +1

    Maybe the device worked just fine but the teachers didn’t know how to handle it or it was not a shockable rhythm. An asystole cannot get shocked. On the other hand at such a young age a ventricular tachycardia eg due too long qt syndrome is much more likely.

    Abbott and his takeover clearly left safety out of the equation. Old boy, (Mr. Send tax dollars to his private schools) knew this was the case when he avoided questions at the meeting.

      Still doing better than they were before. This falls on the school, NOT district. Idiot

      WRONG! This is NOT the governors fault. THIS IS WHAT BLACK DEMOCRAT LEADERSHIP LOOKS LIKE!!! YOU VOTED FOR DEMOCRATS AND DEI AND THIS IS WHAT YOU GET!!! GOV ABBOTT IS NOW WHERE AROUND THAT POS SCHOOL!! THIS IS ANOTHER DEI FAILURE!! YOU VOTED FOR THIS!!! HOUSTON IS RUN BY ALL DEMOCRATS! YOU CAN THANK THEM THAT THE CHILD DIED AND NO ONE WANTS TO BE Accountable!!! In this Democratic new world order, the judge will say the school should be commended and it’s the parents fault for not having the child examined before sending to school. That’s the DEMOCRATS POLICY! This is black leadership so go and be happy you got what you asked for!!! This is how blacks run business. Are you loving it yet?

    What’s funny is an aed won’t shock a rhythm that isn’t shockable. Who’s to say the aed was faulty. Are the teachers healthcare professionals?

    • @Celisar1
      @Celisar1 25 дней назад +1

      That was my first thought, too. An asystole cannot get shocked but on the other hand at such a young age a ventricular tachycardia eg due too long qt syndrome is much more likely.

      UH, THE SCHOOL NURSE IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just another black leadership dei failure! I wonder why these things don’t happen at the Muslim school, or the mandarin school, the Jewish or catholic school or the white charter schools. Hmmmm, what’s different? 🤔

    • @ashleyshpiller623
      @ashleyshpiller623 22 дня назад

      Most likely not this case though, post seizure, he’s more likely to be asystole after prolonged apnea. The key to life saving would have been quality cpr prior to EMS arrival.
