I'd also point out that in edh, it's almost never required that you deal ALL the damage to your opponents. With multiple upkeeps, court of vantress (and other "on upkeep make a copy" effects) becomes an amazing combo piece with any of the damage win cons.
I'm also confused about this, because his ability specifically states "untaps during the untap step" so unless you tap him in untap phases, which players can't take priority during, it wouldn't net you any additional upkeeps except the first from the untap.

I recently built Obeka and Tamiyo's journal and replicating ring have been great. What Grixis does really well IMO is have varied options. Some games opponnents may be able to kill your creatures as soon as they enter, making Embereth bad but Palace Siege better. As for evasion, Vanishing is really great because it's an aura and enchantment synergies (like Auramancer's Guise for example) are really easy and phasing for 2 mana is going to keep Obeka alive in almost every scenario. While winning in one turn is most often better than winning over multiple turns, I feel like you can really lean into the reliability Grixis can provide via tutors, different-mechanically-but similar-end-result options to have counteranswers to basically whatever your opponnents may try to shut you down.
Ring of Evos Isle is a decent balance of protection and upside too; (2) for Hexproof until end of turn isnt terrible if you have a Treasure producer, and given how Obeka works the rings effectively doubles her power every swing. Not *quite* as impactful as Valkas' Haste, but I plan to run both.
I finally beat my friend’s Atraxa super friends deck with Obeka. It was so amazing! Still trying to make it even better, I’m really in love with this card.
Great video, Solphim is another good damage booster! I noticed you wrote monarch = 3/1 knight, but you actually get the knight regardless of monarchy. Thanks again!
This is a great list and looks a lot more rounded than the one I did. Another card I have been considering to go alongside Descent is Lich's Mirror as a way to reset if you get enough upkeeps to kill everyone all simultaneously with Descent.
I'm a total sucker for Descent into Avernus. I just like the card even on its own. I found this commander by total accident tonight. And I'm immediately in love. I'm not great at the theory crafting side of this game so maybe I'm talking out my butt when I say this, but I feel like the deck functions even without the commander online. Upkeep triggers will still happen each turn like normal at least. And unless you're disproportionally stronger than the other 3 players in your pod, chances are you won't always be the focus of everyone's ire. And there are other cards to mirror her effect so to speak. Such as Sphinx of the Second Sun or The Ninth Doctor. And depending on what all you want to focus on, I can imagine that you'd also have additional layers of redundancy anyways.

Since the WHOLE POINT of the deck is to have Obeka connect, the more the better. 8-10 is realistic but you really only need 1 at a time so I wouldn't go more than 12 max. My list has only 6 UNBLOCKABLE affects, but a few more that give evasion like flying.

Question? With how it is wordered is the upkeep proportionate to how much damage she deals or is it how many times she has dealt damage such as one hit equals 1 upkeep?
It's based on how much damage she deals. Deal 2 combat damage, get 2 additional upkeep steps. Deal 7 combat damage, get 7 additional upkeep steps.
