Only us gear heads can appreciate a piece of gear that "doesn't change" anything. Haha
The most expensive gear 😅
I really enjoyed this commercial from the great Robben Ford.
Wow, this thing makes my incredibly rare and highly sought after amp really, finally sound great!
Thanks for watching!
It's time for "Riff"-trax🤣🤣🤣🤣
It’s the perfect pedal…turn it off during sound check and then turn it on during the show👍🏽
Well said!
Shhh there are soundmen around…
Yes, that's exactly how I use it! hahaha
Could do with one for my sax- soundcheck off. Gig starts - on AND SOME! In my guitar band I just turn up. With the Americana band I'm at the mercy of front of idiot man!
It is incredible to see the joy from a man who has been doing this for so long. This is what we, as musicians, should strive to do. Even at the age of 60 be excited about a great piece of kit and our tone.
S.R.Falvo - agree 1000%!
I had my doubts as to why the pedal cost four times what my TC spark boost did (which I thought sounded pretty damn good). So I bought one.
My immediate impressions: Noiseless, colorless, immaculately carries the tone of the guitar through the signal chain (10 pedals, all true bypass except for a TC chorus). Absolutely no tone suck from the volume pedal, or the stupid number of pedals on my board.
It also has two extremely useful functions that are not even mentioned in the promos.
First- no more of that awful digital noise feeding from my polytune back into my signal (I like to
keep the tuner on all the time to check the intonation on those big bends) and run it out the tuner out of my volume pedal.
Second- The great, clear tones that happen when the volume knob and tone knobs of a Gibson with 50s wiring can be brought up to unity gain with the touch of a switch.
Yeah, it's not cheap. But clearly worth it if you care about the quality of your tone.
If you have doubts, turn all your pedals off and then play into a clean amp. Now take a short cord and go straight to the amp. If you want them to sound the same, get this pedal.
That sounds like success to me.
Oh man I could listen to Robben Ford play guitar all day long
The best!!!
A genuine compassionate individual. Impressed with the Boost as well. Sold!
Nice work Mason.
Nicko30able Thank you sir! I appreciate your kind words! Robben is the best!!!
Here you have Robben Ford, you have a Dumble and an excellent Vertex pedal. Finish this video and close RUclips. You already made your day.
wow, that's the first true CLEAN boost to actually do what it says it's gonna do.
Mason, you are killing it, Beautiful Bloom w/o discoloration of the original sound, you are Amazingly gifted. Buongiorno !!!
It’s an absolutely unbelievable pedal just expands your amp is super musical and natural. Huge fan
Hey TIO..... love this video man! I’ll tell you what you cannot possibly have a better endorsement than Robben Friggin Ford man. What a legend this cat is within the Blues scene!!
I'm convinced!
Did anybody else get the youtube algorithm to bring us back to how dope Robben Ford and the Vertex Boost are?
Robben is King!!!!
Very interesting. Great demo and endorsement.
Damn that was awesome....I kinda was enchanted by Mr. Fords playing....I was like leave the pedal on, leave it on!! Haaa! I'll say this Vertex is on fire with their creations I'm not kidding....I need at least 3 as of now because I'm building a Dumble Stack that I have to have Mason & the boys involved in! Sweet Vid!
Thanks for watching Rocky!
I have the vertex boost, sss srv and the shin ei big 1. Boost before overdive, sss after, shin ei at end of chain. Sometimes the vertex and big 1 switch places. Boost has totally changed my playing and this one is up there with the cleanest and best
Thats a serious blues master.
Xotic RC Booster is another great pedal that does this kind of thing
true!
Funny, I always wondered why the RC booster doesn't get more love. Mine is a tone enhancer, very klon like. Superb
FANTASTIC Pedal...................worth every penny .....
Those boots though...
I guess I need one now
Jeepjones85 Eveyone does!
I recently bought one and I use it with an Ultra Phonix and a J Rockett Dude and a Klon KTR and each time it really enhanced the quality of the tone. Great for a solo boost too. It doesn’t change the overall tone of the amp but it certainly adds clarity and helps it cut right through. The HRM Ultra Phonix has a master volume on it and you can really get some great dynamics with that and the boost combined.
I think he's saying that the boost is buffering the signal when it is set to "off".
Robben Ford, amazing guitar player, great Blues lessons. Really like the Clean Boost tone... no need for more
Robben Ford is a classy human. He laid out a firm foundation for his reasons regarding the continued endorsement of Mason. It would not surprise me if there were some more endorsements to follow Robben. And by the way this is a great pedal.
Shane Logan Can you point to where he said those things? Cheers
Here you go :) +whynottalklikeapirat - www.vertexeffects.com/robben-ford-vertex-open-letter

Thanks
Most of the pedals i've tried literally suck the natural tone out of my guitar , the white noise and hissing are always amplified . my rig '68 Tele through a silverface Deluxe reverb . Now it's straight-in with a short cord and it sounds good , up the volume and you're off to the races . Robben Ford's always been an inspiration .
Try the Vertex Boost!
I have an Icarus boost on my board. It’s good but now I want the Vertex boost. Awesome pedal.
🙏🙏🥳
Robben the best!!
Absolutely!
There are so many boost/overdrive pedals out there, who knows what is best. I personally use a Mesa Triple crown 50 watt head. This alone gives me all the gain I need. I guess what ever works for you. I have tried some "Budget Friendly" pedals and literally am blown away by the results, be it a chorus, flanger, delay or boost. I recently bought n2 compressor pedals, A Way Huge and a Boss. They give me boost if i wish and the great joy of a compressor. I can not imagine playing with out one.
Thanks for sharing!
Louder, is always better!
"Almost a little better"... impressive feat, Mason!
🙏🙏🙏
I hear a slight difference. I don't use but a reverb and one light slap delay ahead of of it. I don't need a boost for more overdrive so I just made a small pedal with a volume and a bypass sw.and run it in the effects loop. Just back it down like 2 numbers then for a volume boost hit the bypass switch. Why add more SS electronics for a boost?
The inherent problem with this video - which sounds AMAZING! - is that we are listening to Robben Ford using his hands, through his killer Tele, then again through his Dumble Amp. The boost sounds as amazing as all of these factors combined. I'm sure it would sound great on my pedalboard, only I don't have Mr. Ford's hands, ears, guitar or his Dumble. Rather, a perfectly wonderful FSR Tele, and a Mesa Boogie amp. Still, I am intregued enough to wonder if I should remove my trusted Keeley Boost in order to try this pedal which is sweeping the www. Footnote: Robben Ford, I am a huge fan, and owe a great deal of my phrasing to years of listening to you. Thank you for the inspiration!
+Jonathan Hesbol - thanks for the comment! I suppose you'll have to take Robben's word for it as he's very familiar with that Dumble which he's been using since the late 1970's. I was shocked that he said he felt the Boost actually improved the sound of the amp, since Dumble amps are generally not very friendly with other pedals, and of course Robben's ears are second to none when it comes to good tone. If you want to try out a boost we offer free shipping in the USA and a 30-day money back guarantee if it doesn't work exactly as you expect it to: www.vertexeffects.com/vertex-boost . This Dude Sounds Great. That Telecaster Guitar is Brilliant. When I get some time, I need to Fondle, Cuddle & Caress my Stratocaster, then after a Smoke & some Pizza, I'll Play the bloody thing ha. Think about it Humans(;)
Got it today! It’s a „must have“ Pedal.. I love it so much.. Even every other pedal on the board sounds better..
By the way, I have the mkII
🙏🙏🙏
I just purchased this on a whim as I was lacking a clean boost for my AC30. Hoping to see that it lives up to all these videos. People hardly demo with VOX amps it seems lol.
Enjoy!!!
Will it work for a matchless sc30?
@@martydibergi5228 for sure!
In my sarcastic critic's voice: I always understood that the main reason most guitarists used effects is because they WANT to change the sound between their guitar and their amp. But then, that's just me speaking. Love me some Robben Ford though...
Ok so I've made a decision. Want to add a boost to my main board. Did the homework and was ready to pull trigger. Then I see Tom Bukovac with Bohlinger from PG doing his rig review. Hold the phone...TB has expression pedal jacked into the Vertex boost expression out. No vol pedal. He hates them because of the tone suck. Now vol is not pushing his dirt and chime beyond what he wants whether the boost is on or off. Nor does he have to mess with vol pot on his guitar while playing. Just toe the XP. It's brilliant. Then I see a vid posted by Shawn Tubbs and his rig with the VB, same setup. So...with limited real estate on my board and where to place the VB I can swap out my Empress Buffer with the VB. Sweetness! It took awhile but Thank you MM.
Sky Crusher 🙏🙏🙏🙏
What I hear is some midrange-cut and some clearer, more sparkly highs. When pedal is engaged that is.
me too
There is a definite push in the lower mids and it’s very, VERY low Q, very mild, maybe 1.5 - 2db, broad and sweet. Beautiful sound and playing, Robben. Thank you for that.
But is it the boost? Or is it how the amp is reacting? Remember anytime you’re pushing more output into the front of the amplifier, the preamp will react differently
@@VertexEffectsInc I honestly don’t know where the perceived EQ comes from but I do hear it. I would guess it is the boost itself and, as I said, it is wonderfully subtle, the kind of thing I’d be happy to hear with a pickup change.
That Tele is pure mojo!
heck yea!
at 2:11 … I'm sure Alexander appreciated hearing a $200 pedal made his Overdrive Special sound 'better'. Thanks Robben. :-/
Could you let me know what effects you use for Reverb and Delay? It all sounds great!
T.C. Electronic Hall of Fame Reverb, no delay used.
Hi, I've tried 3 kind of buffer, buffer-boost, boost pedals. I got different boards, some with buffer at first or at the end. some with Boss pedals, or kind of, and some without any buffer, but KNOW after this video i'm interested in THIS BOOST. but sometimes I use boost for "driving the amp" sometimes just to get the sound UP, like for a solo.
My question are, where do you think you boost is better, first or last in chain ??? and do you have any retailer in Switzerland to try one for example ?
thanks for making great effect like this, sometimes price is not important, just the sound, and THIS boost sound so good ( the videos of allen hinds and shawn tubbs are so good. what a sound)
There are many ways to use the boost depending on your application. I think the one that has the most use is after all of your overdrive/distortion devices so you can boost the level without adding any gain or saturation. However, some players wish to add gain to their signals, and therefore opt for putting the Boost first. You can find a full list of our dealer here: www.vertexeffects.com/dealers
hi, thx for the answer !!!
That dumble tho... My god
There's a guy in Grand Prairie TX that makes the best sounding amps i've ever heard. Mainly the El Patron model. It comes with a footswitch that has FET Boost, Overdrive and Preamp boost. When all those are engaged it sounds ridiculous. I think it sounds better than a Dumble. Yep I said it :)
Sweet!
@@VertexEffectsInc Longhorn Amps. check them out :)
Can I use a Vertex Boost to kinda bring up the level of my Strat, and match it with the level of my other humbucker loaded guitars? And I don't want it to change the tone of my strat.
Vikram Vivekanand yes, there is a more recent video on this channel where they do just that on a pedal board build. I used an Xotic EP booster to do this on my board, to match my les paul
Isn't this circuit comparable to boost circuits in guitars like the Luke III where the guitar volume controls the volume?
You also can't hear a difference in tone there between boost on/off because the circuit is always in the chain and the guitar is always "active". The same active circuit lots of players hated with EMG is now sold as the purest tone for your pedalboard. :)
This also means that old style pedals like fuzzes won't sound nice after the Vertex boost.
Harry Maes - I can't say as I don't have a schematic or any reference point to the circuitry inside the preamp circuit in the Luke III guitar. What I can say is with any on-board boost or preamp on a guitar, a player is restricted to using it as the first thing in line with their signal path and when boosting, could overload the first pedal in the chain in a pleasing or displeasing way (based on your taste). With the Vertex Boost, you can put it anywhere in the signal path (even in an amp FX Loop), and in fact, I recommend that it goes after distortion pedals so it doesn't add gain (saturation), but rather take what you have and make it louder without changing the tone. Some opt to put the Boost first in line, but that seems to be a less common application, especially when connecting it with a Volume or EXP pedal to control the boosted level and isolating the impedance of the volume pedal from the signal path and use it as a master volume, with the time-based effects after it to allow delay and reverb trails. If you use a fuzz, it wouldn't preclude you from using the Boost, again you'd want to use the fuzz first in line in almost any application because of it's sensitivity to the impedance it sees on the input. With an built-in guitar preamp (i.e. Luke III), you'll certainly have issues with a vintage Fuzz as the guitar will come before the Fuzz (can't change that unless there was an insert built into the guitar itself to patch in the boost preamp where desired in the single path), whereas with the Vertex Boost you can (and I recommend) that it come after any Fuzz or OD for that matter for the most flexibility.
Vertex Effects I understand what you're saying. I currently use the MF Boost from Moog which has 2 modes: VCA for very clean boost and OTA - opamp/clipping based for more controllable boost on the expression pedal. As mentioned before by someone else you're not marketing a unique pedal that can do this as the MF Boost is in the same category. You know your marketing and influencing patterns so no need to not be transparent about that. It's not rocket science just a good idea by a number of companies. All the best!
Hey Harry Maes! Thanks for taking the time to respond! We're glad you're very happy with your Moog MF Boost!
We hope you will give the Vertex Boost a try at some point to see how it works for you.
We made the first Vertex Boost with the EXP/Volume control in mid-2012 and by September of 2012 had already incorporated it into a dual pedal prototype for Michael Landau that had the Vertex Boost on one side and an SD-9 style Distortion on the other (two independent pedals in one enclosure). This (and previous prototypes) had the full EXP/Volume control over the Vertex Boost: www.hugeracksinc.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=84984
Alternatively, it appears that the Moog MF Boost Press Release was on Feb 7, 2013:
www.moogmusic.com/news/announcing-minifooger-analog-effects-guitar-bass.
In other words, the Vertex Boost was developed well before the Moog MF Boost was released, but we were not actually aware that Moog had released their MF Boost pedal until Summer NAMM 2014.
With that said, they are also different circuits. We designed our boost to be as clean and transparent as possible, but per Moog, the MF is not designed to be transparent (quote from Moog) "through the VCA signal path providing clean, articulate "tonal enhancement' with a subtle 6db boost (12+dB with expression). This setting "feels and sounds" like a boutique amp in a pedal."
The Premier Guitar review stated " VCA mode provides hi-fi, crispy-clean boost. There’s little coloration-just a feeling of airier highs, firmer lows, and increased headroom. It doesn’t sound precisely like, say, clean mode on a Klon Centaur or a Z. Vex Super Hard On, but it’s a similar “low dose of steroids” effect that "flatters" many guitars, especially ones with old or old-style pickups."
Moog also states in their product manual under the "HIGH GAIN" section that both settings, VCA & OTA, have "natural occuring musical compression," which is not totally neutral as we designed the Vertex Boost. I am sure this "flattering sound" and "compression" sounds great, which makes it a great pedal to have as an effect, but what we wanted in the Vertex Boost was total transparency, not a particular sound.
Also the Moog uses a VCA, and as good as VCAs are today, they are still not as audibly clean, distortion free as optimized gain stages like what's in the Vertex Boost.
Here is a link to excellent commonly used inexpensive VCAs www.thatcorp.com/Blackmer_Voltage-Controlled_Amplifier_ICs.shtml. There are still “artifacts” in VCAs that are not found in the specifications, that being they contain much more complex circuitry then straight gain stages. There is definitely a place for VCAs and if we were to design a pedal that had the features similar to the Moog MF Boost, a VCA is what we would consider.
So, to recap, the pedals are similar in some ways (both boost your signal, and both can use an expression pedal to control the boost), but not the same per what we "primarily designed" the Vertex boost to be - a boost totally neutral and transparent with no sound of its own and with the ability to use any passive volume or expression pedal with none of the side effects or tone sucking often associated with the use of volume pedals. Simple and clean, nothing else, not an "effects" tone changing pedal, but a transparent boost with the addition of volume pedal control. This is what it was designed to do and what sets us and the Vertex Boost apart from the others.
What do you think of the new TC electronic bonafide buffer?
I haven't heard it or seen it to comment.
Boost is fine it's the boots that gotta go lol
Hmmm want one now
Yes!!!
A Dumble amp runs about $60,000. I bet that effect doesn't sound too good through a $300 crate.
I could get one of these for about $225 shipped, I'd be in immediately.
Hi,
I don't want to doubt the the boost is a great pedal. But what else can come out if we have pedals like the Custom Audio Boost, Gtrwrks 63 Boost, Suhr...etc..?? I would like to hear your honest opinion guys! Thanks!
Hey Dóra Szántó, the boosts that you mentioned have their individual qualities, but none with the transparency of the Vertex Boost...you can literally set the Boost to unity gain, click in on/off with just your guitar straight into your amp and literally here no added frequencies, no added compression, to EQ change whatsoever. Additionally, it offers a feature that no other pedal or boost does, which is the ability to control any VP or EXP pedal with the Boost EXP out and have real time volume control at your foot to adjust the output level from anywhere from unity to +16dB over unity gain. RACKDOCTOR thanks for the comment! Can you tell me about your set up when you tested the Vertex Boost? It is designed to have a totally flat frequency response (no built-in EQ of any kind). You're right about the Moog! We hadn't considered the MF Boost because the EXP controls a VCA like a synthesizer.
RACKDOCTOR Thank you for the details on your set-up! We've done our best to design the boost to be as linear as possible with no deviation from the frequency response.
+RACKDOCTOR pardon me guys for getting into your conversation, specially cause I am not an specialist but I think you are forgetting the little fact that amplifiers react different to input levels changes, if setting the boost at unity as Mason suggests playing the exact same lick still changes the tone then you are right but I'm not sure that's the case in this video. Anyways, I might be wrong because the earphones I'm using in this moment reproduce only frequencies below 17kHz. Peace.
Very nice, i want to buy it. But this vertex boost isn t again in sell? Only red version, and we need alim? No battery in description? In Robben ford video, there is no alimentation, transfo.
It's the same pedal just the color is different. It has a 9V battery clip inside as an option.
@@VertexEffectsInc Oh tks so we can buy the same pedal, just différent color, and add battery clip option , thks a lot. WHere buy it?

Didn't Mason get caught selling rebranded Ben-wah pedals at a 300% markup?! Ultra-shady business.

Where is the reverb coming from?
TC Hall of Fame Reverb on the Plate setting
So much confusion about this. IMHO if you have a few pedals and cables you have to have a buffer circuit that's always on. True bypass is great but you'll get losses and suck tone if there's cable capacitance, etc. in the path. All buffers are not created equal but if Robben is endorsing it, it's obviously good. I have a separate buffer that is the first thing my guitar output sees. If you have that build into a pedal you like, as Robben obviously does, so much the better. But it's good early in the chain. Or use a buffer first and a good buffered pedal. I'm in high end audio. Passive preamps are popular among some but they only work well with short, good cable runs and if your input and output impedances play well together. Sorry, got carried away.
hello my name is Casimir and i live in Smerville Boston Massachussetts, and i'd like take some lesson, i don't know how can i do that....

We all got to make a living dude.
Stupid question here. If it only enhances the volume why doesn't he just turns the volume knob?
Dennis Aguilar I was asking myself the same question. I’m trying to change the tone without too much volume 😂😂😂😂 If I was Robben Ford the neighbours probably wouldn’t mind hearing me
Turn you amp’s overdrive on the verge of breakup. Play. Then roll off your volume a bit. Hear the tonal difference?
That’s why.
Nobody really knows
@Ryan Swanson That's what the volume knob on your guitar is for.
Why not just a volume pedal for the amp?...
nice axe, but not sure about the boots
Vertex boots? Ohhhh, boost.
hahah Vertex Boots!! Love it!!
YeeZee did it first.
what's the difference between this and a cheaper TC Spark mini?
200 dollars :)
@@ATreeForFive true that!!
TC Spark is great but it really color the tone. The Boost doesn’t color your tone at all and it really blooms It adds something to the amp tone that it kind of indescribable. I play it with every overdrive or fuzz I own and I always makes them sound better and if you have a really nice tube amp it will really increase dynamics. A good amp, compressor and the Boost is really all you need.
Dont buy TC spark. Colors sound, killing the tone.
TC Electronics Spark Plug
+Michael M It's a good compact pedal, but if you need the transparency and the ability to buffer your system flawlessly and remove the impedance of any volume pedal via the EXP loop on the Boost itself, the Vertex Boost is the only pedal that can do all three of these things with zero color of the guitar and amplifier. Are you using the TC Boost now?
Boost and Boots 🤣🤣
I would love to have a chance to demo one of your pedals, everything I've seen so far it's fantastic Wayne Reed SoundCloud you can hear me do Jimi Hendrix Red House, that upload was just guitar and amplifier no Studio no musicians,
I creamed all over Jimi Hendrix Red House
No one cares bro...
God dammit, first I got a ZenDrive, then an EP booster (not sure if you even use this) and now ANOTHER BOOST?
Oh well.
To be fair hes playing into a dumble
If you know much about these amps, you know they're notorious for taking pedal poorly. For Robben to say it "makes it a little better" is about as high of a compliment as I can ask for.
@@VertexEffectsInc I'll take Robbens word for it then. Seems like he knows a thing or two
They are not notorious to take pedals bad
@@ClaudioMartella yea you're right I saw that mentioned someplace the other day.
I have heard the term "Dumble" and do not know what it means. I will have to google it. My favorite head I have right now is a Mesa Triple Crown 50 watt head. I love it.-I run it into a 2X12 vertical mesa slant cab. It sound so tight with a god compressor.
Hard to make a dumble amp sound better
Robben is the man!
Lol! He's playing into a $150K amp saying that the boost is the most exciting thing!
That’s the best testimonial I’ve heard!
@@VertexEffectsInc Right?!?! So, regarding placement, do I put this at the end of my pedal board? Is the built in buffer good for line driving?
Well if he used a decent amp, maybe it wouldn't degrade his tone so much. ... I'm joking, JOKING. :)
+intrsoul The very definition of shots fired.
Crystal lettuce
😂😂😂
Dumble?! Comon! My blues jr will sound just like that right? 😂
David, believe it or not, the Dumble is super sensitive to any pedals hitting the front end, and Robben said only the Vertex Boost, Zendrive, and a few other select pedals actually work with it. We've found the results to be true of pretty much every other amp, including your Blues Jr. as we design almost all of our pedals using a test rig of Hot Rod Deluxe - an amp not too far removed from the Blues Jr. sonically. Feel free to check out some of our other videos of the Vertex Boost and you'll see the same result with a myriad of amps.
Vertex Effects Awesome. Thank you!
Of course!
I am puzzled, I don't want to discuss the quality of this pedal, because i don't own it, but when he say that the sound is more true also when the pedal is off he's basically telling us that he discovered a buffer concept. Now I do really think that Robben Ford is an honest guy, but in the same time I struggle to believe that he never try a buffer before, either Ford is never been adviced properly on pedalboards or he really likes the royalties that he get from this company, no pedal improve your sound when is off. So careful guys when you believe in your guitar hero
Hey Marco! Thanks for watching! Indeed, not only does Robben like how the boosted signal doesn't alter the sound of his amp and only improves it as he says in the video, but also appreciates the quality and fidelity of the buffer inside the Boost. The biggest issue with the Dumble amp is that it is sensitive to anything in front of it. He had tried other buffers in the past, but none with the transparency and fidelity that our Boost provides. Robben is not a paid endorser, on the contrary, he loves the pedal and wanted to help us with this video.
Vertex Effects
Hey thanks for reply, talk about buffers in term of transparency it's a bit of a stretch. buffers can make you loose volume, all buffers do it, can introduce noise, but do not have any sound. Now if we are discussing how a dumble amp works, well you got me, I have no idea, neither 99.9% of the people that gonna buy your boost, what I am trying to say that even if your buffer is the best ever produced any user that have a boss pedal, no matter if on or off , have already 2 buffers for each pedal in the board, making useless any other quality buffer you can add to the chain.
I've found that there is a wide degree of sonic differences between buffers, and often some players prefer the color that certain buffers impart. I've seen input impedances that range drastically from unit to unit and low as 2-300K ohms and up to 3M ohms. This in itself will change not only the sound, but how the guitar reacts to and with the buffer and whether it is loading or unloading the guitar pickups. A buffer by design shouldn't loose volume, and it is, the buffer could be suspect, or perhaps more likely something in the system - whether it be cabling, another pedal in the chain, or power. If you have a Boss pedal on your board in conjunction with our boost, having both buffer won't necessarily be an issue, the more important part is where the buffers are placed in relationship to each other, and how often the pedals are used. For example if you have a Boss Compressor and always have it on, it's no different that having a true bypass compressor on all the time as they are both acting as a "buffer" anytime they are "ON" (true bypass or not). If it's the first pedal in the chain, than any buffering before it is only effective up to that point (which your reach this hypothetical compressor), and then the compressor is responsible for driving the line until the next pedal is turned "ON" in the chain or you hit the next buffered pedal. Generally, having put a lot of our Boosts on pedalboards, it only helps the overall sound, and if you have a volume pedal, it really improves the sound greater than any other input or output buffer could because of its isolated EXP loop for the VP for impedance isolation. If you have buffers you like and sound good, great! If you have a great boost, that's even better! I know many people struggle on how to set up their system correctly and maintain the best possible tone of the guitar plugged right into the amp. We did our best to address this with the Vertex Boost in addition to offering volume pedal capabilities via the EXP and the same high quality buffer we were known for when we used to build pedalboard rigs for some of the finest touring pros in the industry. It's certainly not for everyone, but I think you'd appreciate what it does if you checked it out. I'm happy to connect you with a dealer near you if you're interested in seeing what it can, and we also have several other videos with more common amps that might help you better calibrate how the Boost might work in your set up. Let me know if I can be a resource for any of this! Kind regards, Mason @ Vertex

Hard for anything to sound less than great played thru a Dumble...
I have a Vertex Steel String Clean Drive. It never sounded very good and now it doesn’t work at all. I won’t buy anymore Vertex pedals.
The boost has a 30 day money back guarantee...doctors, lawyers and proctologist toooo...shut up and try one. If all of what you speculate is true, send it back. Mine isn't going anywhere! :-)
Very hifi sound, almost too much detail/harmonics. I think I could live with it though.😁
Tim pedal
I don’t get it
@@VertexEffectsInc please check out Paul Cochrane Audio Tim pedal. It is the greatest transparent boost/od that I am surprised you don't know about.
BTW your boost is impressive as well.
lee gollin I’m familiar with the pedal, I just don’t understand the overlap with the video
@@VertexEffectsInc your pedal reminds me of it. Take it as a compliment.....
Call me silly but why not just turn up the amp? As it's still clean - just louder - someone help an old duffer like me and enlighten me pls
This is an option, however it’s a little bit unrealistic and a gig when your amplifier could be 10 feet or more behind you and you want to go for a solo with your identical tone. Yeah ideas that you can make this change on the fly remotely without having to adjust the amplifier at all
@@VertexEffectsInc Thank you - so it's really really simple - just a foot volume boost but with zero coloration (Im assuming that is usually the problem:)
Edward Bonthrone it’s the transparent boosting (everyone says their boost is transparent, most aren’t). This also has an output buffer and the volume/expression connection to control the volume remotely like a volume pedal.
You’re silly
250 BUCKS FOR A BOOST PEDAL?!?!?!?!? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cciemail more like 100,000 for a dumble amp...
Honestly, I love it. I thought the same damn thing, but it is the best buffer, and transparent boost i've ever used. Plus, it deletes the tone loss of my volume pedals. It's also the 2nd expensive pedal on my board. I do wish it cost $200 though.
Luke Scriptwriter LPB-1 is $50. Exotic RC booster or EP booster both well less than $200. All highly regarded. If it's truly transparent doesn't that mean turning up the volume will do exactly the same thing? I want some tone enhancement/coloring - sparkle, fattening, something for my $250. Steel String clean boost sounds nice btw. Think it's by Vertex. New dumble-ish pedal.
All Robin ever needed was a guitar and amp the rest is a Whatever...
Nothing more disappointing than getting a new pedal that sounds cool but takes a certain point of clarity out if your tone.
Robben didn't seem to think so?
So I just learned from this thread about the whole wah scandal. Sorry I'm late to the party. I gotta commend Mason for the way he handled everything; seeking to make things right no matter the cost. That's very honorable and worthy of forgiveness and another chance. But to follow with this pedal seems strange to me. As Robben says, "it's my tone just louder". In the aftermath, I would expect a pedal that is unique and special. This just seems like a way overpriced volume pot. Maybe I'm wrong and will have to eat my words if I ever hear one in person. I just don't get it.
Sorry but the pedal makes the amp sound more brittle, shrill and less musical. Amp sounds more 3D without the pedal.
Yes. That amp is legendary and needs nothing in front of it.
HAHA and HA as if the $100K Dumble ODS wasn't enough HAHA and HA
love Robben For but its a skinny sound, no crunch no body, I prefer more crunch
Why not get a real guitar player to do a pedal demo? Ever hear of "The Tone King".
You're joking right
So...... Robben Ford is not a real guitar player? So who is?
Oh you're just one of those metal shredder, no space in music, no taste for nothin' kind of dude now ain't you?!
