Thank you very much for this. I learned about Locke as a child in school years ago but don't hear much about it. FYI, BC on Confucius' grave stands for "Before Christ." So if you were born 551 years BC (551 years before Christ was born) and died 479 years BC, you were 72 years old. I think 72 was SUPER long for someone to live 2500 years ago. The current calendar is AD (after death).
@@JeffytheAdventurer They didn't really run backwards. The year before Jesus was born was the year 1BC, so 100 years before Jesus was born was 100 BC. If you were born in 100 BC and you died 55 years later, that means you died 45 years before Jesus was born (or the year 45 BC). :-)

That is very interesting about how the years ran backwards all those years ago compaired to how it is now. Very interesting!
