I really like the the simple graphic of this vid
Love the music.
A wonderful example of why old techniques can fail when a counter is found. The wolf pack was a great attempt at countering 19th century warfare that was enacted in the 20th century. Turns out with maps that are standardized, clocks that are not run by the command crew alone, and the wartime footing of ‘Jesus just dock already!’ means that any crew of tarry jacks can dock a battleships worth of airplane parts anywhere in the world. Not that they would mind…
no mention about the tactic codenamed "Raspberry" by Western Approaches Tactical Unit...
I don’t think the German could had that many U boats in any chosen spot in the Atlantic
I don't think I can understand this comment.
It can,
Attack on a convoy can take Weeks for a uboat to prepare, And to call like 7 other uboats to the area
They had knowledge of predicting routes
Most of the WW2 transports went into Liverpool. Wolf packs would focus on the area of the Atlantic off Liverpool called the "Western Approaches". An Allied operations center inLiverpool would coordinate the anti-submarine action. There is a Western Approaches Museum in Liverpool. liverpoolwarmuseum.co.uk/
