A really cool use case I haven't seen anyone talk about is using chat GPT as a practice debate opponent. I was getting ready to confront some anti-abortion protesters in front of Planned Parenthood and I asked chat GPT to debate me as a religious anti-abortion protester. We had a conversation and it did a good job bringing up religious anti-abortion arguments for me to respond to. After we were done, I asked it to critique my responses and it gave me excellent feedback.
Always happy to debate that one, so abortion is murder of an innocent human child and that is a fact that cannot be denied so the default position must be to oppose it, but let's consider exceptions. For that to be to be in any way justified requires a compelling reason. Now the most compelling reason is medical necessity. I have heard that women raped who get pregnant do better mostly without having an abortion however that could be argued to be an exception, and we might also argue that if the life is so new it is not yet got say a brain perhaps we could minimize the degree of "wrongness" to a degree. Another reason give to justify abortion is that illegal abortions will occur that can be worse, however that is an argument that would apply to a LOT of illegal things, maybe all illegal things. So let's consider that some women use abortion as a form of contraceptive, some are truly shameless, so we could limit abortions (say 3) and triple the cost each time, and also make the cost go u for each week of development. And absolutely rule out any abortion of a baby that could be born prematurely (I was 11 week premature). More to the point it is increasingly viable to develop babies in artificial wombs, this has been done for animals and there is no reason this couldn't be explored and perfected. The mother had some choice in becoming pregnant, the baby had no choice. It would be more valid (if a baby were able to make such a decision) to give the child the right to terminate the mothers life!

I also specifically told the GPT to not be afraid to make shit up but say it authoritatively as these folks are prone to do. They once told me that a proposed California pro-abortion proposition ballot measure would allow babies to be killed after delivery. I knew she was just making that up (or was repeating something that somebody else had made up), but I didn't have the tools at the moment to rebut that.

Absolutely! This is just the first step in that direction though my point is that a flood of tutors is coming our way and this is one of the first ones. Once GPT-4o voice assistant drops I will do my best to show you how to set it up for yourself, no external service needed.
When the new voice assistant arrives I'll need to review all of the Gpts I created. They somehow need to be optimized for the new user experience that the voice assistant will bring.

I get shouted down for this, but when everyone can make anything, especially without inherent ability, then everything is sterile, diluted and worthless….I think Ai is fantastic, just not when it strips away skill and talent….
This only means that truly handmade stuff will be even more valuable to most people. I call myself lucky to have had multiple different hobbies in music and art since childhood. Even though I never pursued a career in those, I think it can become pretty useful when most of the content will be made by AI.
The same will happen to manufactured goods. Everything will be 'premium' and cheap. One has to focus on education & self development and group games like taking a part in a play. Working for the man will be over And about time. Humans weren't aways slaves to a clock. The economic system has yet to catch up but the Powers the Be will be forced to redesign the economic model.
I think the opposite. A lot of what is made today could be a lot better or more varied but is accepted due to only a select few being capable of making it or a lot of resources being needed to do so. With everyone able to use this technology to get what’s in their head out into the real world that creates a new found freedom that promotes creativity. You need to be creative to create a song for instance, but only a professional musician can actually make the music that they hear in their head. Most can imagine songs that don’t yet exist. Imagine a world where everyone can create the songs they imagine. Imagine the new genres that would be created. Yes there would be a lot more songs, but the good would stand out even more from the average than now. Furthermore, those who have studied music theory would still have an advantage. The song imagined by someone who knows the structure probably can make better songs than the average person, the same goes for art. What this does is democratizes creativity since there’s so many things people want to make but can’t either due to a lack of time, money, or other resources but not necessarily raw talent. And as mentioned before it makes it so that those who are truly talented in a craft will stand out among the crowd.
They’re doing it because many people have got bored or started to lose interest. Also, $20 USD every month is VERY expensive for most of the world’s people. Especially on something potentially erroneous (requires double-checking) and that they rarely use anyway.
That is not why they are doing it; they are doing it because it helps them build their models better. Secondly, $20 a month is nothing compared to how much money you can make with it, which you obviously are not doing. Most of it does not require double-checking; the thing is very smart. Maybe you are just using it wrong. It's amazing how people love to complain about $20 measly dollars but have no problem going out to eat, drinking alcohol, paying for Netflix, or going to the movies, and so many other useless things that don't help you in any way. Since ChatGPT came out, I use it daily for business and personal purposes. If it were not for ChatGPT 4 PLUS, I would not have earned an extra $30K in the last 9 months.
I'm looking for a tool that lets me upload a book and then ask questions about its text. For example, if I take an out-of-print book, convert it to ebook format, and upload it, could an LLM then answer questions from the text, summarize concepts, find and explain key quotes, etc.? I'm a paid subscriber of ChatGPT and Claude-could either of these services provide this functionality? It might be a bit pricey to do this with all my favorite books, but it would be incredibly fun to have this feature. Is there such a tool available?

in writing @ in the chat box, I can find the ones I pinned on the first day, but when I want to use one it says "We are sorry, but you do not have access to GPT interactions." So it is not fully free, nor freely available now.

4o not that hot, only allowed to upload files. a few times,, and then limit was reached. The initial file that was uploaded could not be analyzed the second time that was tried it was analyzed but the file could not be downloaded,It was useless.
