This guy seems like a real gem to paint because of the fire/smoke effects, being able to actually paint a face without using micro dots for details plus his armor and chair. It's like He's jumped off the pages of a comic book. Well done!
I’ve been binge watching your content since finding it. Your style of painting is absolutely amazing. I also really like the format of your videos. Very easy to follow and replicate
Incredible job as always. Your highlights are so well placed it's honestly mind-blowing I sometimes I look at your thumbnails and wonder if they're minis or cgi.
You used to teach me music, about 10 years ago. It's inspiring to see you quit teaching and pursue a career painting. I'd love to see you do some 40k models
Thanks a lot Peter! I remember you well! I used to paint 40K actually but it's just not a game I'm that into at the moment. I never say "never" though... :)
I really love your Marvel Crisis Protocol series! Always look forward to the new video for this game. Please do a tutorial for Black Panther, maybe with some purple kinetic energy could be cool!
I would love to see you do another one of these for M.O.D.O.K. Scientist Supreme, just got him and am scared to start because I rely on your video! LOL
Hello. Outstanding as always. It might be a silly question because everything is in the video but I'd like to ask about the face. I too own the Malefic Vallejo set for the purpose of creating basically the same effect as you have. Yet I find Malefic Flesh paint to be sort of a muddy grey colour that has little to do with flesh tones. I even got upset reading the step by step instructions that their version on photo looks nothing like colour of the paint. And somehow you've managed to achive exactly what I have tried with that set and the midtone of Malefic Flesh looks just right. Is it the glazes that brought it to life or mixes with Frozen Flesh and Pale Flesh? I just can't figure out how to get rid of the grey mud effect. Thanks in advance for your response
Hi there! You're right - the Malefic Flesh set is somewhat desaturated and grey-ish. You can see to get the look I was after I firstly pushed the contrast of the values (i.e. brightness) quite high by mixing Black and and Purple Shadow for the deepest shadows, and White for the highlights. I then tinted the skin tone with a few simple glazes near the end (and a little in the middle with the Magenta OSL) to create character and interest. :)
Hey sorastro! Love this video! I have a question about your zenithal highlighting. I'm having a hard time with the black primer clogging the airbrush. What psi do you run your air brush? Also, do you thin your primer? I'm using an iwata hp cs. Any other tips? Thank you and love your work!
Thanks a lot! I actually managed to break the pressure gauge on my compressor so I'm no sure of my exact PSI but I do crank it up pretty high when priming. I might also add a few drops of flow enhancer to help prevent blockages :)
Fantastic painting and tutorial as always. Throughout the video there was something bugging me about the eyes and I've realised it's that they look a little "flat" - I think they might need a couple of glint highlights in the whites.
Thank you! I think you might have missed the part where I added some glints in pure white, but it's understandable that they might not "pop" so much as the eyes are somewhat shadowed 😀
Holly smokes! I’ve been watching since the zombiecide season 1 days! Your skill level went from table top to competitive quality in that time! I’m seriously struggling to learn comic book style painting! I paint Everything like scale models realistically and it’s making me mad I can’t master NMM ans comic style painting
Dear Sorastro, Outstanding NMM work - very inspirational for my wandering earth vehicle I am hoping to receive in july! I do hope you & your Family are keeping well? Kind Regards as always Johnny
You are Very strong because i really hate this caracter. I fond ut grotesque and ridiculous. But with your painting i can round it interesting To paint i Will try for my marvel united mini To copy your style. Thanks again for inspiration
By far one of the best painters on RUclips. No hyper bs- just hard work and talent.
That really means a lot to me - thank you! :)
Holy moly dr.sorastro once again you prove yourself to be among the greatest painters in the world ❤️🥇
Thank you Kim! I don't think that I am, but I graciously accept your kind compliment :)

Thanks a lot! He sure is a blast to paint :)
Outstanding work! The rocket blast looks like it is glowing from an LED within 😍
Thank you buddy! :D
Brush magician at it again, thanks for being such a huge influence for this hobby.
Thanks so much Joshua! :)
Dang it. I don’t even like this character, but I feel like I need to try to emulate this paint job after this video. Amazing work as always sir.
Thanks a lot Zac! :D
I've been following you since 2016 and you get better and better with each miniature. Keep up the amazing work. You inspire me.
Wow - thanks so much John! I really appreciate that :)

Thanks so much Marc! I'm really happy to hear that 🙂
Magnificent! I love all the different techniques you've used here!
Thanks so much buddy 😀
You do it again! What a “Marvel”lous paint job - I stand as always in awe, well done, Sorastro 🌟🌟
Thanks again Kim! I really appreciate that 😀
Another great video. Using all of this but for vampires, that skintone is perfect, the purple and gold NMM, so much goodness.
Awesome! Thanks Rob - I'm glad you found some useful ideas in the episode :)
@@Sorastro That's the whole thing, every piece of it has multiple uses, so compact and great.
Absolutely amazing! You inspire me to up my game and try new techniques! I LOVE the explosion effect! Keep up the amazing work!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the kind words :)
That nmm gold is spectacular!
Thanks a lot Terry! I'm glad you like the gold 😀
seems like the perfect model to practice faces.
asome work, I'll defenetly keep this one in mind when I paint mine
Thanks a lot Mike! It really is - his features are so large and nicely exaggerated :)
Incredible job as always. Your highlights are so well placed it's honestly mind-blowing I sometimes I look at your thumbnails and wonder if they're minis or cgi.
Thank you kindly! To be fair, I think the small scale of the thumbnails helps hide the imperfections :D
@@Sorastro and as a viewer who isn't painting the model and seeing the whole process I'm probably unaware of them.
@@Sorastro Your minis are like Bob Ross paintings. There are no imperfections, just happy little accidents.
@@Sorastro your imperfections look better then my "perfection".
Like I said on IG your nmm is on another level. Simply outstanding. Those Nocturna flesh tones are a nice find too!
Thank you my friend! The Fantasy Pro paints are very nice indeed - I first used them on the Phoenix from KDM and fell in love with them 😄
wow absolutely incredible work.
Thank you so much! He was pretty epic to work on 😀
Amazing job master. Hope to see some Journey in middle earth in your schedule ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you! instagram.com/p/CPAzTaBnGrY/? 😀
@@Sorastro Oooh lordy, I love you !
Great job! Love the face. I may have to steal it for some undead figures!
Thank you! Steal away! :)
Wow, such a beautiful job, fantastic video.
Thanks so much! :)
Brilliant work as always, Sorastro. I've been debating to get MODOK for a while, and this paintjob is really helping influence that decision 🤣
Ha ha - thanks Adam 😄
Your best mini yet!

Thanks a lot Brendan! I've got Scarlet Witch, and I have Cable on pre-order (he's not out here yet).. :)

Ha ha, thanks! I do have the model, and would love to paint him one day.. 🙂
A masterpiece, it looks better than most of the comic versions of M.O.D.O.K. A cover art mini. :)
Thank you so much Mikel! I really appreciate that :)
got these paint there so good

For fun could you paint a MODOK like the new TV series coming out? That would be hilarious and easy to do.
Ha - that sounds fun but I think I have enough of a "pile of shame" as it is :D
@@Sorastro Ha ha! I feel your pain there. Thanks so much for the work you do.
