This is a perfect example of why I respect and appreciate Jules so much. I can tell he spends his time learning and then learning more deeply by teaching. So much value and benefit created because he cares.
That's a great video and once again I have to say this is the only EDM channel that talks about the process of learning EDM production and getting better. There is a process to it, and it is hard. It is supposed to be hard, because improvement needs challenges that are just barely outside our reach.
Great video. Interesting topic. I have to say that I do wish you did more subject-specific learning videos to facilitate the process you've described. There are plenty of million-sub RUclipsrs out there that do "How to use compression" or "what is compression," but you always seem to have a keen sense of the part that others miss. For example, understanding the what and how of compression won't help someone make better music. For some reason, most tutorials skip over the most critical questions -- e.g., why/when should you use compression. Understanding how to hold a hammer, how to swing it, and all the components doesn't really tell you why you should even take it out of your toolbox. What jobs should you use it on? When should you use screws and a drill instead? Etc. Anyway, having followed a lot of your stuff, whether on YT, discord, or great PML lessons (I still supplement the Diva manual with your course when needed), I think you have a real knack for that and wish you'd do it more. Honestly, you've probably got dozens and dozens of great lessons tucked away in your track making sessions already.
As someone who uses this type of info professionally, you explained that better than most I’ve heard. Fun to hear it in the context of music production. Great angle and insight. Bring on more 😊
Thank you, dr. Jules

Aww thanks so much ❤️🙏
Love your approach to things. You could talk about umbrellas for an hour and I'm convinced I'll enjoy your thought process. Thanks Julian!
Tnks - you are a very good teacher! Very articulate....

You are like my teacher of music and life. Thank you Julian!

WHy PML and Ableton Tips never give your RUclips link in the descriptions of videos you make for them?
Jules what happens when our short term memory is a single stick of 2GB DDR2 and our long term memory is a 33 year old mechanical hard drive????
Then you make nightcore 🤪

The background music is distracting. I want the RAW SUBSTANCE
