We've got a new drum at GTown Studio...the Buffalo Drum!

This drum has a nice deep sound and is fun to play! I'll definitely be adding this to one of the songs on my new solo album.

Hi there, could you please advise some recording tips for this drum? What kind of mic and set up did you use?

For this demo, I just used two overheads. I believe these were the Audix ADX51 mics. But when recording this for a real music track, I use a Shure SM57 pointed at the head of the drum, plus overheads or a room mic to blend in, if needed.

Absolutely! I'm playing some rhythms with my fingers on the back, but you could also ditch the mallet and play with your hand on the top.
