Disney Parks have been screwing up in regard to theming ever since they introduced the Frozen attraction (a cheap one at that) at the Norway Pavilion at EPCOT.
This area is just painful to look at. 1. The white picket fence is just depressing. It reminds me of coralling cows., cheaply done. 2. Where's the foliage? Standing in the lines is going to get hot. 3. The artwork and yellow poo colored paint is horrendous . 4. This area lacks warmth and detail. 5. What's going on with the mesh of time periods. Well if you compare with splash mountain the criticism is warranted I feel. Tianas doesn't even follow the movie. They should have given her a ride of her own. But it is what it is. Now the log ride is probably still fun like any log ride, but this disjointed storyline and empty areas make it lackluster.

If I were stuck on a ride for that long, Disney should pro-rate my ticket price to compensate for the time lost at the park. Amazing.. so expensive and with all the Genie/Fastpass/Reservations etc... you get like 3x E ticket rides in... No dice for me...
I recently watched the Preview of Tiana's Bayou Adventure and while I do like the animatronics of Tiana, Mama Odie, Louis the Alligator, the furry critter animals. I feel very underwhelmed with the Missing ingredient plot story and I don't like some of the empty spaces that still features in the Disneyland Tiana's Bayou Adventure. I wished the Disney Imagineers would add more animatronics and TV screens that would feature 3 Frog Hunters Reggie, Darnell, Two Fingers as cameo characters. I also want more critters from The Princess and the Frog the dancing Spoonbill birds, red and yellow lady butterflies, 3 possums, deer, 2 alligators, Buta the Dog, Marcel the cat, Tiana's boss Buford, to fill in the empty space void especially at the Disney World version. In addition I want 2 songs "When We're Human" played at the Dropoff, "Ma belle Evangeline" (played at nighttime) Also for Halloween season version like with Haunted Manison I want to see Dr. Faciliers Magic Show featuring Dr. Facilier and his scary minions shadow spirits, masks, dolls and play the song "Friends on the Other Side" Although the song may get censored to remove the reference of Voodoo and Hoodoo. I hope I can convince the Disney Imagineers to add more so I'll actually enjoy the ride attraction like with Pirates of the Caribbean rather than feel like it was a Jungle Cruise slow ride. I'll try politely asking Disneyland and Disney World customer service if I can talk to the people in charge to share my feedback suggestions.
The original Splash Mountain looked like something from an animated feature. Chickapin Hill where Brer Fox looks out and sees Brer Rabbit coming. The briar patch was there. It had classic songs. Nobody thought of the movie when on this ride. Tiana's Bayou Adventure looks like nothing. There's no connection to anything. It's not even connected to The Princess and the Frog. It looks like a pile of leaves. It looks stupid.

Ironically, the 1949 movie was based on a series of stories that originated with enslaved African-Americans. Disney Parks managed to erase an attraction, whose origins can be traced to African-American folklore. Go figure.

Theres no build up to the drop and everything before the drop doesn't make much sense and its kind of empty in spots and boring. When you see tianas face really big on that one screen dose a person realize they've shrunk? I don't think so. They should have given tiana her own ride.
I think what they need to do is they need to do what they did with Mission Breakout and have a Halloween overlay with Dr. Faciliar in the ride and at the drop have “ARE YA READY?!” playing at max volume!
What I find funny is that although Disney erased the breir references, I just noticed that during the scene where Judy Hopps says while crying, “I really am just a dumb bunny” In Zootopia, she wears a pink shirt and blue jeans like Brier Rabbit
To be honest, the new ride doesn’t really make sense. Sure, rides are basically things that don’t really make sense, but if they wanted a ride with Tiana then making her a poacher salt mine owner is actually an offensive choice. It disrespects the characters, it disrespects what was before, it disrespects the interests, and it disrespects the impressive imagineers.
It is a lot cheaper just to take a boat in New Orleans or launch your own bass boat and drive through the bayou of Louisiana or just walk around in the French Quarter. Plus, New Orleans is closer to home than Disney World or Disneyland. Disney is now a money grab machine and you can no longer have a Zip A Dee Doo Da day. Splash Mountain will be missed.
