given the fact that i hear thom vocals, phil on drums, colin on bass, and ed on rythym guitar, it is probably jonny playing all of the goofy instruments before his solo. this is important because it confirms that jonny greenwood has played the marimba in his career
Most bands first effort sounds like a gargled mess. Not saying this is great or anything but you can tell that musical talent and chemistry is there. It’s no wonder they were able to write such beautiful music later on.
Something I noticed while listening to the On A Friday stuff and other early releases by Tchock and Co.They tried almost every genre to see what they were good at.In fact, they still continue doing it and that is why I love them
it almost was. if it hadn't been for a chance meeting with an EMI manager, they might not have gotten noticed and they'd have just finished their college degrees and moved on from On a Friday

I heard the record company were unhappy with some of the song choices for pablohoney. Maybe they wanted more like this... Thanks Radiohead for turning out so different!!
I believe this song is a joke about their songs being so sad. I imagine them showing a demo to a manager, who criticizes their songs are too depressive, and they write this song as an ironic answer
Wow. No one who ever heard this could have seen OK Computer on the horizon. Thank God they kept working on improving their craft. Has anyone progressed more from album to album than Radiohead?

Happy Radiohead:
Imagine if the last song on the final Radiohead album was just a rerecorded version of this.

Haven't you seen "Meeting People Is Easy"?!
This song is from the mid-80's. It always blows me away how Thom's voice sounds exactly the same today, no aging to his voice whatsoever.
It's _so weird_ hearing Thom Yorke's voice performing upbeat C86-style jangle pop.
I like it.
thoms voice in this is too precious
this is the real closer to A Moon Shaped Pool

this song actually makes me happy so weird to hear thom sing like this lol
Some else has expressed that this song might be a kind of ironic joke.
After listening to the lyrics, I'd have to agree. That shit is *dark.*
I think the second chorus is: "My head is clear / I can see through all the dirt now. / Her eyes are clear / I can put my cigarette out in-her-eye."
Then again, most of Radiohead’s-erm, I mean on a Friday’s-lyrics are pretty dark anyway.
