This is a great ending of a masterpiece of an album, in my opinion 😍😍 About the song: Aurora spoke about the track to Apple Music: “'A Little Place Called the Moon' has been in the back of my head for a long, long time before I decided to finally record it. It's the most spiritual song. I feel very in touch with a lot of ancient and spiritual things. I'm imagining you and me and all of us just standing up and walking towards something great and hopeful and beautiful that lies there, far ahead in our future. And eventually, we're all going to the moon. I just like the idea of all of us going to the moon. We'll get to look down at ourselves from up there and see how small and beautiful and large we are at the same time.” She had noted it as one of her favorite songs off the album and as a 'bridge to the next album', she said: "It's the perfect ending. You have to wait so long for the final release where I finally come in again. I like the patience of it, it offers you one last breath before it all ends and disappears into the sky. And it's a really good bridge to my next album."
my first time hearing this, it's amazing in my opinion (I'm a huge aurora fan though haha). At 4:50 it almost sounds underwater and mechanical at the same time. Xploding plastix is very awesome, they are Norwegian which I didn't even know when I first listened to them. Mostly instrumental and electronic with occasional words. They are a good listen
Howard Shore (who did the soundtrack for LOTR and the upcoming series The Rings of Power (TROP) definitely needs to contact AURORA to have her sing (or even appear) in TROP!
Love this song (top 3 for me, with Everything Matters and Blood in the Wine), glad you like it too :) ... And now, all you have to do is the same thing with her previous albums ;P
I can't quite put my finger on it....but melodically and vibe-wise this track has always reminded me of _something._ Some other song. Melodically it's kinda sorta similar to the stuff Daniel Johns was writing in Silverchair and The Dissociatives in the early 2000s, but I don't think that's it. It's driving me crazy not being able to place the familiarity.... Any ideas people out there?
You know what? I think.......it might be Animal Collective that it's making me think of. Mostly MWPP era Animal Collective. Something about the overall feel of it strikes a similar mood....
