  • Take a ride with me through Stamford as I explain why my friends, family, and clients love living here. I am a life long resident of Stamford resident, and I've spent an ample amount of time at the local establishments. Feel free to ask for any suggestions.

When younger I lived for a time a short drive from Stamford....Now after some research to relocate, I think that along with Bellevue, WA and Saint Pete, FL Stamford is one of the best places to live!

Yeah, Bellevue WA is a good comparison. Haven't been to the FL one, but loved Bellevue and got very Stamford-y vibes.

I used to live in Stamford from 1996 until the end of 2013. In 2014 - present, I moved here to Melbourne, Australia with my wife. I loved Stamford though. What did I miss about Stamford? It's nightlife....Fiesta Peruvian Restaurant, Mi Terruno, Sergio's Pizza, Cove Park, Alive@5events every Thursday, famous Bobby Vs, Club Mor, Stamford Library, Target and Daddy Junky Music Store where I bought my first electric guitar! So many memories. I'm planning to visit there again, next year! 😊❤❤❤❤❤

I lived here all my life. The walkabilities are high around downtown. Even north Stamford you can walk to certain places but only in north Stamford. Glenbrook, Springdale, certain parts of the west are great areas.

Nice video! I think you forgot to mention that Stamford ranks among the top 10 safest cities of its size in the entire USA year after year. Plus, the popularity of the city has caused it to grow in population to the point it now ranks as CT's second most populous city.

I used to live in Westport. Remember Stamford well, worked there for a while. Now I’m across the Sound on the north shore of LI. In the summer I like to take the Ferry and visit Fairfield County.

Born and raised in Stamford, Connecticut. Worked and lived there for my entire life. Over priced housing, over taxed property taxes. Couldn't wait to leave. You have to be extremely wealthy to live in Stamford Connecticut.

Thank you for saying it. Born & raised here as well. I feel like the optimistic outlooks of this city comes from newer residents. Because it's just getting crowded & congested..like a little New York city. They did everything to accommodate the wealthy people that came into town but did nothing for the natives.

Stamford cost of housing is incredibly low compared to other Acela line cities like Boston and New York, and income and sales taxes in Stamford are dramatically lower than in NYC. Plus Stamford is incredibly safe and clean for a city of its size. Yes it is pricey but it's one of the most desirable cities in the northeast. I find it impressive it isn't more expensive.

I grew up and owned in Springdale. Sadly, I must retire out of the country early, because I quit every post-college job I ever had due to low stress tolerance, and never really built a good employment record or earned enough money to afford to stay here. I will be retired in another country by the age of 55 because of my short-sightedness.
    What a shame!

Stamford is pretty cool. Seems there is something for almost everyone there. The city looks quite festive during the fall and winter holiday seasons. I love being able to hop on the train, and in 45 minutes I'm in New York City, especially during the holidays.
Oh, yes, Stamford needs less motor vehicle traffic and more infrastructure for cycling. But this is true of many cities. Lets start getting out of our cars more and start riding our bikes but not now. There are just too many cars in the central city.
To promote cycling, Stamford could sponsor a cycling event. Start by temporarily reducing or eliminating on-street parking to create safe, bike friendly lanes. This could be done on a trial basis a little at a time. Why not try it in a few downtown neighborhoods for starters? Then later head up Long Ridge Road or High Ridge Road to the Stamford Museum and Nature Center, for instance. Do it one day on a quiet weekend.
A 10 to 12 mile bike route would be grand to kick things off. Maybe it's already a thing. It would be a terrific way to see the city, promote the city, with its many different neighborhoods--some of them truly very picturesque.

This video covered the kinds of topics that would interest almost anyone who would be considering a given locality to move to or visit. HOWEVER, I think it would be way more effective if more of the video focused on the geography, businesses, and products discussed. Most of the video was just some guy driving his car, which really tested my attention span. lol I think an audio narration combined with video of the things being talked about would be a bit more effective.

No mention of the schools? Stamford is great but it’s biggest downfall is the public schools. Number 1 reason I’ve heard people with kids say they won’t move there. Majority of the schools are ranked low. High schools are ranked 3/10! Most people with kids move to neighboring towns because of the schools. Hard to justify benefits of living in Stamford when you can move to neighboring towns with 10/10 schools!

Why do you keep dropping in food choices throughout the video? Restaurants in the beginning, more food after that, then pizza, and food at the end. Why not put all of that in one area of the video, then the things to do, then the proximity to NYC, etc? Its like you're saying that all the place has to offer is food. This wasn't a great video. Is that all you do in Stamford?
