I was under the impression that when doing an applique, the fabric should already be on top of the garment from the placement stitch, then remove the hoop to cut it and rhen place it back on the machine to run all the other stitches. Would it be wrong to do this way?

I use Candle Thread. I still have some Madeira Thread, but I am transitioning to Candle as I am running off of the old ones.
Only used Madeira with very little issues. Is there a benefit to change to Candle thread?
Does candle thread have data sheets available?
