    My first ever sketchbook is finally here! I feel so accomplished to finally finish a sketchbook and I'm excited to work on another one. This is a very honest look at the inner workings of my mind and how messy and chaotic it is to be an artist. It's a bit nerve wracking allowing others to see what goes on behind what is usually a private place, but I think that authenticity is important, especially in the creative field.
    Let me know what you think! What are your favorite pages? What would you like to see me do in my next sketchbook? ❤️

    Finally, a real authentic, true to life sketchbook of an artist❤ I compared myself to the other RUclipsrs with their perfect sketchbooks, and I found that I was actually creating myself an artistic blockage, trying to be so darn perfect on every page of my sketchbook and actually be ripping out pages that weren’t so perfect to make sure the flow of perfection was continuous imagine that lol, but your video has showed me that as you said sketchbooks are not meant to be perfect. They are meant to be used and not perfectly. It’s a place to sketch study and experience. new subscriber can’t wait to see more❤

      Thank you for your lovely comment! Yes, I believe that those videos can often be quite detrimental to artists, especially ones who are struggling to find motivation and flow. Of course, a sketchbook is very personal and can be whatever you want it to be as there are no rules, but I do believe that many artists tend to only show their "best" work. I love watching all types of sketchbook tours and find inspiration in each one, but I realized that the ones that look like completed art books left me feeling frustrated with my own work. It also made me afraid of messing up a page so I wouldn't even start, leaving my sketchbook sitting on my desk for months. This is definitely why I've never been able to finish a sketchbook in my entire life. We shouldn't be afraid of our art, we should feel safe to experiment and explore our inner mind. If we want to have a page that's literally just scribbles, then go for it. I'm a huge advocate for using art as a form of meditation and therapy as well and the more I learn about that field, the more adamant I am about this practice. Stepping away from my own perfectionism has been hard, but crucial in my journey as an artist. I have found myself creating so much more and getting lost in that wonderful flow state. Even if I don't like how something turned out, I can just say "Oh well, I learned something from that, let's turn the page and move on". I honestly almost ripped out a few of these pages and didn't want to show them in this video, but that would have been a lie. We NEED these pages.
      Thank you again and good luck with your artistic journey! ❤

    Вы правы! Скетчбук должен прежде всего быть рабочим инструментом, площадкой для экспериментов и блокнотом рисованных заметок. У вас он замечательный! ❤😊

    This has really inspired me. I've been wanting to start doing more art again, it's been about 10 years since I did it at school. Back then, I was very conscious of every mistake I made in the sketchbook which would then be graded, so this has helped me see how I can do it more naturally and freely

    • @Ellary_Rosewood
      @Ellary_Rosewood  3 месяца назад +1

      I hope you get back into it! Art is such a gift and adds so much to our lives. The most important thing is to enjoy the process of creating and create what speaks to you. Humans are natural artists, unfortunately school has put art in a neat little box and often snuffs out creativity in pursuit of doing things the "proper way", when in reality there is no proper way of making art. That mindset only puts up walls and creates fear of failure instead of letting it flow naturally.
      Wishing you the best! 🌲❤️

    I can't tell you how much I love it all! 💖It's fascinating how you combine a variety of things to sketch on a page or 2. Danny Gregory must be so proud of you for completing the sketchbook with the most wonderful drawings and paintings, as well as for the great portrait of himself! I just found Philip Carr-Gomm and Tea with a Druid here this year! He's wonderful, too. Really 💙the last page. Your calligraphy throughout is awesome. In a word: INSPIRING! Keep it up, girl!
