I too am just starting to learn to play the classical guitar. At age 79 I regret not starting many years ago. While I know I don’t have enough time to attain the skills it takes to play very well, I enjoy learning and playing some beginner pieces. You are an inspiration for me to practice, practice practice! Few people can really understand Barrios, this is one of his songs full of meaning, each note is a word. Thank you for sharing this inspired interpretation.

Tatyana is my favorite living guitar player. Her musicality is second to none
Beautifully played...I'd like her comment on the artistic liberty of changing the beginning (first 2 bars) and ending (without the repeat). Many players do the same as well. I studied the original score while in music school with the composer's notes. This piece is hard not because of its technical complexity but its sheer emotional demands. Each phrase poses 'questions', and then the 'answers' follow. It's one of the ultimate musical examples of the genius of Barrios.
Beautiful. I love seeing how much Tatyana is enraptured by this music as she plays. She is totally connected to it.

I'm pretty sure señor Mangoré would have had this clip on repeat if he'd lived today.
I also think he'd shed some tears of joy if he could hear his composition sound so marvelously great, not just because of the wonderful tone of that guitar, but even more so that you play his song with such heartfelt delicacy.

Playing guitar is one thing... playing music is a gift.

This is Piece is by Augustin Barrios-- Julia Florida is the name of the piece, named for a woman with whom Barrios was infatuated by who did not reciprocate his feelings.

Tatyana is slowly becoming my favorite classical guitarist as she makes the music I've heard many times from others into her own. She projects herself through her guitar. Beautifully done!

i think theres a fine line between skill and talent, and this is just both. i never liked any other rendition of this piece. her playing is just so colorful its amazing.
Talent is inate or not, skills are refined with practice and dedication. Superb rendition l agree

This is one of the best versions of this piece I've heard! I particularly like your phrasing or maybe I mean to say "rubato"? (i.e. how you ebb and flow the rhythm) Whatever the term is, the bottom line is this is Very, VERY nice to my ear. Such expression.
