- Hello Friends!
I feel like I've been neglecting the classic movie side of my Classics and Cats, so I'd like to share more of those videos along with my classic book videos. I hope you will enjoy taking a look at the classic movies I have collected so far. These are mostly movies from the 1970's and before with several of my all-time favorites among them!
If any of these are your favorite movies, please let me know in the comments! I hope to add to my collection very soon! I'll be sure to do haul/update videos as I add to this list.
Take care and thank you for joining me!

Your film collection is fantastic, I've only seen a fraction of the films you shared but a lot of those titles are on my watchlist. Just gotta get around to making it happen! Also you totally have Natalie Wood vibes!! :) Oh I spied the 1995 version of Sabrina and I LOVE that movie, so sweet. Thanks so much for sharing!!
I didn't realize how many movies I have in my collection, but have not watched yet! Haha! Apparently, I need to make more time as well! Last year I dedicated a lot of time to reading, so I may have to balance it better this year with more movie watching! It also made me realize how many good films are missing from my collection, so now I'm on the hunt to do some classic movie shopping! :)
You should add Bette Davis to your classic movie collection
I love Hers To Hold that's one of my favorite Deanna Durbin films I love it when she sings the songs Begin The Beguine and Say A Prayer For The Boys Over There and I love the part where she and her parents are in the living room watching a reel from her other films
Me and you love classics I see you have the amazing Mrs.Holliday
George Peppard who plays Paul In Breakfast At Tiffany’s is one of my favorite actors from the 1960’s
You have a great collection! Some I've never heard of and would like to watch! Some recommendations: Rebel Without a Cause, The Godfather, 1 & 2, What Ever Happened to Baby Jane, Mildred Pierce, To Sir, With Love, and Giant. I used to work on a video store back in the 1980's, so I am very familiar with VHS 😊
That is a great list! I actually do have Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, Mildred Pierce, and to Sir, with Love on my "to buy" list!!! I have never seen The Godfather! I should probably watch that soon if I'm going to consider myself a true Classic Movie Gal! Haha! Giant and Rebel Without a Cause are good adds to my buy list! Thank you so much!
don t think THE GODFATHER will entertain you madam. it has many violent and brutal killings
@@ClassicsCatsHere’s some old classic movies to add to your list: Now Voyager with Bette Davis and Paul Heinreid Nice Girl? with Deanna Durbin and Robert Stack, Up In Central Park with Deanna Durbin and Dick Haymes, The Corn Is Green with Bette Davis and John Dall, Christmas Holiday with Deanna Durbin and Gene Kelly. Mickey And Judy Collection, I Love Lucy The Complete Series. Spring Parade with Deanna Durbin and Robert Cummings
Great collection! You have added some movies to my watch list 🙂. I really like Arsenic and Old Lace, It’s a Wonderful Life, Sabrina, The African Queen, and To Have and Have Not (although the movie is very different from the book).
Oooh! Arsenic and Old Lace is a good one! I haven't seen that in years! I'll have to add that to my list! I also love It's a Wonderful Life and Sabrina!!
I have not seen The African Queen or To Have and Have Not, I will have to add those to my watch list!!
@@ClassicsCats I'm glad you love all the films I sent you plus I think you should do an updated classic movie collection video and a Deanna Durbin collection video that would be awesome. I'm glad you like the Deanna poster I gave you. I'm gonna send you one to give to your parents since they love her too
What you should add to your classic movie collection is The Corn Is Green with Bette Davis and Gun Crazy with John Dall and Peggy Cummins they’re great classics
Very nice old classic collection. Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is one of my favorites. You need to include Of Mice and Men. 🙂❤ Although I usually like originals, the 1992 version is excellent.
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is excellent! Paul Newman is soo good, as is Elizabeth Taylor of course!
I saw Of Mice and Men years ago and cried my heart out! 💔 So heart-breaking! I have the book too, but I'm scared I'll cry again! Haha!
@@ClassicsCatsCat On A Hot Tin Roof is one of my favorite Elizabeth Taylor movies I love Paul Newman also I love Butterfield 8 A Place In The Sun

I need to get a copy of It's A Date and and I'll Be Yours on DVD
Oh you have Mean Girls that's another one one of my favorite movies I have it I love it my actress in it is Amanda Seyfried (Who plays Karen Smith) I love her so much and if you like her you should get Dear John with her and Channing Tatum who's my favorite actor
Haha! Mean Girls is definitely a must-have! I like Amanda Seyfried too -- I was surprised to learn she had such a nice singing voice! (Mamma Mia)
What I think of classics is 1950s-200
That makes sense too! It's so hard to draw a line in the sand. Some people even just say if it stands the test of time and is loved by people for generations! I agree to all of the above! :)
What movies does the Deanna Durbin music and Romance boxset have?
Music and Romance set has: Mad About Music, That Certain Age, Three Smart Girls Grow Up, Because of Him, and For the Love of Mary. :)
@@ClassicsCats My sister has a best friend who loves old classic movies and she loves Audrey Hepburn but I got her interested in Deanna Durbin. Last week I ordered her the Sweetheart Pack. I’m gonna order her the Music and Romance collection
Yesterday my cousin Kechette got It's A Date and the Amazing Mrs Holliday from Amazon she loves Deanna
If you really like Audrey Hepburn you can get her whole dvd collection off EBAY like there’s a 5 film collection that has Breakfast At Tiffany’s Funny Face Sabrina Roman Holiday and Paris When It Sizzles
I do have an Audrey Hepburn collection! It has Breakfast at Tiffany's, Funny Face, and Sabrina!! :) Love it!
@@ClassicsCats I’m gonna get the one that has five films
The movie East of Eden only covers the last 4th of the book. The main character in the book is actually James Dean's father in the movie. If you haven't seen it you should watch The Apartment with Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLane. It is by Billy Wilder who also directed Sunset Boulevard and Some Like It Hot.
Oooh! I will look up The Apartment for sure! I think I have it saved on a watchlist on one of my streaming services, but haven't watched it yet! I'll move it up on my priority list -- I love Shirley MacLane! I didn't realize it had the same director as two of my other favorite classics!
Do you have the original "Cheaper by the Dozen" movie?
I don't -- I should add that to my list... I have many that I need to buy still to complete my collection!
Once you get new Classic movies you should do an updated old classic movie collection plus the ones I sent you like your new Deanna Durbin’s and Cleopatra with Elizabeth Taylor Richard Burton and Rex Harrison but I’m not done yet I’m gonna send you some more classic movies like some Bette Davis and more Elizabeth Taylor and Mickey and Judy
Hey as far as the Deanna Durbin films Don't forget to order Christmas Holiday Up In Central Park Spring Parade and Nice Girl?
I know, I'll have to look for them! Spring Parade for sure! I watched that one on RUclips and really liked it!
@@ClassicsCats Also don't forget to add 100 Men And A Girl to your list the very first Deanna Durbin movie you saw when you were 8 or 9 years old
Some thoughts and a couple of factoids:
'The Disorderly Orderly' is my favorite Jerry Lewis film. Oh, well. I'll agree to disagree. :) The Ladies' Man is also a good one.
'The Moon-Spinners' was the last film for silent movie queen Pola Negri, playing Madame Habib.
Joan Blondell - one of my favorite actresses - considered Aunt Sissy in 'A Tree Grows in Brooklyn' her favorite movie role.
I absolutely agree with you on Kirk Douglas. I did like him in 'The Strange Love of Martha Ivers' and 'My Dear Secretary.' Now, all of his films are tainted to me. Never again. For semi-related reasons, the less I say about Robert Wagner, the better.
As well as my Deanna collection I told you about on another video, I've recently started a Sonja Henie collection. She's the one who got me interested in figure skating. I have seven of her eleven movies.
As for your VHS tapes, there are ways you can convert them to DVDs to save them.
A very fine movie library you have. I enjoyed this! 😊
I'll have to give Disorderly Orderly another shot then! 🙂
I love movie fun facts!! I did not know that about Pola Negri in Moon-Spinners! Very cool!
Joan Blondell was also in Desk Set! Which I just watched last weekend!
Agree on Robert Wagner as well. Makes me sick the Kirk Douglas got to enjoy the success that he did during his life. Ugh. Glad we agree on that front! I also enjoyed the Strange Love of Martha Ivers. Had to look past him...I have not seen My Dear Secretary, I'll have to look into that one!
I'm not familiar with Sonja Henie. I looked her up on IMDB and It's a Pleasure does sound familiar! (The plot sounds like it may have inspired The Cutting Edge movie!) Do you have a favorite movie of hers that you recommend starting with?
@@ClassicsCats - I haven't yet seen all of Sonja's films, but 'One in a Million' and 'Sun Valley Serenade' are good places to start.
@@JWClapton I'll check them out! Thank you! 😊
Have you ever read Natasha? A Natalie Wood biography 😮
A long time ago... I've read "Natasha" by Suzanne Finstad and "Natalie" by Lana Wood. I need to read the more recent biography and watch the newest documentaries! I found a podcast I want to listen to too!
Don’t forget to add 100 Men And A Girl to your list
You have Baby Mama I watch that a lot
That one is very funny, isn't it?!
@@ClassicsCats Yeah I love the part where Kate scares her date by saying I want a baby now I'm 37
You had another Jerry Lewis film called The Delicate Delinquent that you didn't pull out
swashbuckler complete collection
Get Paris When It Sizzles that’s another Audrey Hepburn movie
I'll check it out!
@@ClassicsCats Have you gotten Paris When It Sizzles yet?
