Awesome stuff! Glad to see you are still doing KOF content! I would love to see a video about what to do after successfully anti-airing someone with a jab. Because from the looks of it you cant combo them afterwards. Not too sure how to continue pressure afterwards
this is super interesting, the aerial heavy neutral almost looks like smash ultimate. is this how all KOFs play? or is this specific to KOF 15? I've only played KOF 98 as a child, so I have no idea what competitive KOF looks like, but I am interested in getting into the series.
Yes, a lot of KOF games function like this BUT jumps are actually (relatively) weaker in 15 compared to older KOF games due to reduced blockstun and increased throw invulnerability frames in 15. To compare, hop CD attacks have pretty unreal blockstun in 98
This is an excellent video, only thing I think you should’ve covered is the importance of faster hop normals to interrupt j.CDs. Very solid video to teach the basics of footsies in this game
a year ago I started playing kof xv. It's my first kof and I didn't know how to hop, so I decided to play without the hop, but the people I met insisted that I needed to learn hop, as they were more experienced I agreed and decided to learn. Today I try to use hop but every time I do that the opponent jumps higher and hits me in the air, after all is it supposed to jump high or low in this game? nonsense thing
There is no single answer for when you should or shouldn’t hop or jump. Send me a DM and I’ll take a look at your replays to give you advice. My twitter link is on my about page
Generally speaking, due to how throws work in this game, you have 3 options: 1. Input a throw yourself to break the throw 2. Do an invulnerable move after the trade (since your opponent is trying to throw they can’t block AND attempt throw) 3. Jump to trade with their close heavy attack (you’ll take damage but you’ll avoid a potential hard knockdown from the throw) Hope this helps!
just got back into kof 15 after learning they fixed the matchmaking perfect time to watch this
Same, love it. 😃
Thx for watching! It’s great to see that the netcode is better for a lot of people now!
Been wainting for this! Keep up the KOF 15 content!
Nameless' theme (Zhe Prime) in background, you got my attention with this video.
Glad you liked it!

Yes, this is basically how to play KoF in general. Hops and jumps are essential.

The similarities are not by mistake couse Masahiro Sakurai was kof player and was inspired by it😂
What a perfectly timed video
Thx for watching!

Thanks for the kind words! I'll keep that in mind for next time
Instead of Footsies, KOF's Neutral game should be called Hopsies considering how much players hop in this game lol
Interesting idea haha. Thx for watching!

Hey Chris_F, any tips for after winning an air-to-air trade? What options are available? I keep getting thrown

@@pacogerte7208 thank you :)
Game too fast for my small brain.
Just takes time to get used to, don’t be so hard on yourself
