- There's nothing wrong with wanting to become a better man for your wife, children, family, etc., but if you do not do it for yourself, you will get discouraged as you feel the previously mentioned do not value your effort. Love yourself... fight for yourself!

Two years ago my wife showed me that it was okay for me to embrace my daughter when she cries. It was like a new revelation. I was 41then. I never say my dad embrace my sister or mom when they were in pain. He caused most of the pain.
Just want to let you know that you are helping far more than just young black men. I'm a white dude in my mid-30s. My father was a drug addict and abandoned us. I've struggled with addiction myself, and rage, and anger. I have never had a positive male role model, or anybody to mentor me... I've learned a lot, and transformed much of my suffering, but I have always felt so alone and in the dark. You are helping me finally become a man on the path to goodness and God. Thank you brother.

Even some of us ladies enjoy. 🙂 Unfortunately many need a fatherly voice. The saddest part is most only need the smallest ember of encouragement, yet go decades or perhaps a lifetime without the slightest essence of such. I’ve also found direction through Jordan Peterson’s work. They both have an undeniable perception of balance. That hearty fatherly vibe with copious levels of beneficial advice. Best to you Jack.

Brother thank you for this video. I am fighting anxiety and depression and fear. I didn't have my dad growing up so even now anybody that loves God could be a mentor. Which is why I have attachment issues. At 31 years old I am still learning how to be a man. It's a fight daily just to stay sane. I

Yesterday I was going through some emotions with my wife and we had an uncomfortable discussion of a past issue. I had a hard time processing all the information and felt like I was reliving the whole experience again. I had high anxiety throughout the night and had a hard time sleeping. And when I woke up and came to work I still felt the same way as I did the night before. I open IG during my break and as I am going through the feed the clip of this video appeared. So I came to RUclips to watch this video. And I want to THANK YOU for your words of encouragement. I will defiantly watch the video again tonight. I am a firm believer of everything happens for a reason. I was suppose to have that uncomfortable talk with my wife. And I was suppose to watch this video at the right time. I know now that today is a WIN for me. And I will keep fighting for myself!

Thank you... I'm finding it nearly impossible to fight for myself right now stuck in this state of depression that I can't shake. It sounds so dumb, but how does one love themselves?
My friend you are not alone and it doesn’t sound stupid to ask how can one love themselves in a world that condemns men when we try to be human. The best place to start is with a counselor or better yet what helped me was a biblically based psychotherapist.
I believe in you. And our Heavenly Father does.

Forgive me if this is out of turn as a white guy but I think the black community would do so well if we practiced love towards black boys especially. I think so many get caught up in status and trying to be “the man” amongst their friends that it leaves them cold and in a box. The man box. I think this issue alone causes a lot of problems for the black community

Totally agree with with the baptism mandate as a youth. I spent my late teens & 20’s separated from the Lord until I gave my life to Christ in 2014.
