  • The GMF 1600 CE Combo is a universal router supplied with a single motor and 2 bases; fixed and plunge in one tool gives you the best of both worlds. The fixed base is perfect for repetitive and precise work or free hand intricate work, lockable switch on the fixed handle for table use. The centre of gravity is lower with handles closer to the work piece making the router easier to control. When inverted, there is provision for height adjustment from above by drilling a hole in the router table top. No tools are required to change the bases. The plunge base is for precise plunging or dowels, multi-pass cutting of channels and rebates. Among the finer features are powerful 1,600W motor with Constant Electronic power booster, Soft start and variable speed, simple cutter change with the motor unit removed from the base, LEDs light the cutter and work. Fine depth adjustment system gives outstanding precision. Lightweight, robust compact aluminium housing.

I´ve got one, and it works very well. But when I try to use the fixed base in my router table, and I try to raise the motor whit the hex wrench, frecuently it locks.

Unfortunately this does not come with edge guide and possible no case in the US. Guide listed as separate purchase on Amazon.

I have this router. the plunge base will not stay locked in position for more than a few seconds. it is very frustrating. it generally moves away from the work such that you don't notice and have to go back over everything again. especially infuriating using round over bits. otherwise it seems like a very good quality tool.

Unfortunately, the router is complete garbage!
The main reason for buying it was two bases, a plunge and fixed. The idea was to mount the fixed under the table and use plunge in other cases.
Fixed base does not work at all! It is supposed to be fine regulated with screw but the motor cannot move inside the base at all!! So, money down the drain!
O.K. I said, lets buy a professional table plate from wood peckers... and another problem rises. First the motor does not measure like any other supported by most of plates so there is a problem mounting it and the second, the power switch is not on the motor but on the base so you cannot use the motor out of the base.
Not to mention that same tool in USA is caller MR23... so when you are tying to found a plate for GMF1600 in USA... is like trying to find an ice cube in the desert...
I have manage to overcome most of the described problems just to figure out that it would be nice to have a few Watts more.... so...
After all the problems it ended in garbage and I have bought a Festool OF2200 which is 3 times more expensive, but worth every single cent !
