- As family, friends and fans from around the world now mourn the death of Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of music royalty, some wonder about the future of Graceland, the storied Memphis mansion in Whitehaven.
I had the same feeling as this woman, Lisa Marie was our connection to Elvis. We took for granted that she’d be around for a long time, and keep her Dad alive. She was so respectful , appreciative and loving. No one will represent Elvis or Graceland like his own daughter. It’s all around a devastating and shocking loss. 54 is too young to leave. My prayers are with her Priscilla and her children. 🙏🏻💙

So many people would love to visit Graceland, I finally got to go on my 65 birthday. It was a dream come true for me. I hope it don’t ever close, so many people loved Elvis and Lisa.

Lisa Marie has gone thru what we all will and that is leaving this side of heaven. I saw an interview she did a few years ago in which she clearly said she has always been the sole heir of Graceland and when she has departed it will be her children's. Thank goodness she has children old enough to know how much Graceland meant to their mom. All will be well in time. Departing is part of iving.

I visited Graceland every year for 8 years in a row with my Mum and the Elvis Presley Fan Club of Great Britain from 12 years old and back for a couple of the big Anniversaries. I have so many memories, it would be devastating if anything happened and it closed. Her children have some tough decisions, but I think Priscilla will be the one to ensure it all works out okay. Look what she did with everything when Elvis died. Elvis was all but bankrupt thanks in a big part to Colonel Tom Parker, and Priscilla turned it around and made it into what it is. I don't think she will let anything happen to it and hopefully the children won't either, they saw how much it meant to their Mum, if nothing else, hopefully Graceland will be safe, it has to be.

Well they cannot close access to the graves as its a cemetary. They could close the house and all the otherr stuff but the family would be missing out on millions of $, that would not be a smart move. Princillia will have a big say in this, she started it all.

I finally went to Graceland in October 2022 and it’s amazing such a beautiful home and you feel Elvis there ❤ I have plans to return in August this year, but now…I took it for granted that it would always be there - I hope it stays in the family
I visited about 20 years ago during a trip to Memphis for something else. I told a friend to give me the space to visit because she could care less. I must admit when we went thru the front door you could feel Elvis presence in a peaceful way. It was very welcoming and sad at the same time.
I was there in Oct 2022, as well. Glad I made the trip. We are losing so much talent these days.

Presley Estate has a net worth of 500 Millions including Graceland from Rolling Stone. According to Forbes, Elvis generated 30 to 40 Millions a year in 2020 and 2021 and his Estate raked 110 Millions in 2022. Graceland draws 700,000 visitors a year and generate 150 Millions in revenue for the city of Memphis annually and Elvis movie 2022 grossing $287.3 million worldwide on an $85 million budget. They say The Elvis Business Is Booming Into the Billions so Graceland will be fine.
Whatever the family of Elvis and Lisa Marie decide it is their own business and decision. They owe the public nothing at this point.

This is what I hope, that Graceland and the remaining Elvis Presley assets will remain safe for his grandchildren and their heirs to come. However, I'm uneasy with Lisa Marie's last ex-husband trying to get more than $6K per mon6from her before she died. I read a new blurb that he thinks she's hiding assets from him. What kind of person does that to a mom or person strugglung with so much loss? A greedy one I'd say. Lisa Marie, like her dad had so many people taking advantage of her kindness. I agree with another comment here that I hope her children get some good financial management lessons and maybe even a legal degree or two. May the Lord protect and comfort them all. As a 14 yr. old I stood at the Graceland gates (1981) and watched as Lisa and Priscilla came down the drive. Back seat of course. They were stopped for a minute because of traffic on Elvis Presley Blvd. I always wondered if she saw me as well. Very sad time.

Priscilla is always such a great loving woman. Elvis would be so proud of what she has done to keep Graceland accessable to the fans. Without her, no telling what would have happened. I went with my grandmother and aunt many years ago when I was a kid, and we all loved Elvis and just visiting there, it was amazing. I felt like I grew up knowing about Lisa Marie ( when she had her babies, who she married, when she recorded her songs ) and she was definitely a reminder of how Elvis lived on through her. So very sad she passed 💔🙏

It goes to her kids, she said it in an interview. Her son is buried there..... , she will be buried beside him. Her dad is there too. The home will stay in the family.
Yes I saw an interview she did a few years ago and made it crystal clear that Graceland has always been her's and when she has departed it will be her kids. She said they love visiting there and have lots of family in the area. It will work itself out. Furthermore, she has an older daughter who I am sure is more than capable to follow thru with her Mom's wishes.
Why should Lisa's death have any effect on Graceland? It was Elvis home. The only reason she kept it going all these years was for the money, just like her Mom, who had zero to do with Graceland after Elvis died. Priscilla didn't give a shit about Elvis, or she would have stayed with him. They had been divorced years before he died, and then she swooped in to make money off the people who loved Elvis. People can hate me for saying this. I could care less. Elvis was the star, the talent. Lisa and her Mother used him and his fans for income. Shit! They even went on Oprah. Lisa's death is sad, but isn't definitive of Elvis legacy, just like his adulterous wife isn't.

I agree. Riley is very level headed and intelligent and I think she'll do a great job if she can handle the grief of losing her brother and now her mother. My heart goes out to her.

This is tough. Priscilla is going to have to have a very strong, serious, inconvenient and uncomfortable discussion with her granddaughters and enlist some reputable legal counsel/court monitors as co-guardian and guidance over Graceland and the entire estate for the indefinite foreseeable future because this is a very fragile situation and so many vultures will likely be waiting on opportunities to use the vulnerability of the grandchildren to their own financial advantages. One manipulative conversation and one signed document…and it could all be snatched and stolen from them in the blink of an eye. And keep in mind, this is the territory where stealing property by fraudulent means/fake signatures on deeds by roguish demons is far too common.
Riley, Lisa’s daughter, is living her own separate life as a young actress and wife and she may not have time nor interest to dedicate to overseeing and managing the operations to the estate like Lisa (and Priscilla) have been doing for 40+ years and her younger sisters are way to young to even consider handling the responsibilities of all of this right now…or even years from now possibly.
And I sure hope that their dad doesn’t have the opportunity to slip in and try to get custody of those underage girls and snoop around in Lisa’s financial affairs (like he attempted to do during/after their divorce). This has the potential to be a BIG MESS, so even through their grief, Priscilla and Riley will likely have to lawyer up and deal with some tough issues real soon. Hopefully, Lisa had an iron clad Will and a really great attorney. Otherwise, this will likely get tied up for a while in Probate Court.
This is so devastating that Lisa has died just like her dad…and now her mother is left behind to now bury her too…and help finishing raising and providing necessary guidance to her grandchildren. God please help. 💔

Guys! New York times just confirmed that it will all go to the older daughters except for the twins because they are minors. So I don’t know where everything else falls legally for the twins because regardless… No matter how we feel about him. He still needs financial help raising those twins. I just hope legal analyst Emily D Baker can shed some light on the legalities and how all of this works once the time comes.

I am distraught over this terrible tragedy the loss of Lisa Marie Presley.
I am also very concerned over what will happen to Graceland. Will a greedy corporation end up owning it? And what about Michael Lockwood? I don't think much of him or his new wife. Are they going to be living there and having some sort of control over Graceland because they have influence over the twins? I just get so sick to my stomach now thinking about the changes that are coming. I know that Priscilla is having health issues and may not be able to protect Graceland from the naivete and possible bad decisions that her may may make that end up taking Graceland away from the people who love Elvis.

That's what happened when Elvis died. He left it to Lisa Marie but she couldn't take over until she was 25. So Vernon took over when Elvis died and then Priscilla took over when Vernon died and she kept it going until Lisa Marie was old enough to take over.
Graceland is a not only their family home but also a huge source of income for the Presley family. It wouldn't make sense for them not to plan for the future of the house. Besides, Priscilla is still around and I guarantee you that she'll make sure her grandchildren get Graceland.

Mine, too. I thought it would go to Priscilla that maybe Elvis had t hat written in a will as I am sure Elvis mansion meant more to Pricilla than Lisa Marie's kids.

What will happen is it will go back to her mother then bounce to her eldest daughter then when her two youngest come to age then them. Her eldest daughter I think will do a good job keeping it going and probably adding to it including her brother and her mother. The one I would be looking at is the fourth ex-husband and what he is going to do now Lisa is gone and his child support payments stop because he got custody of their two children. It will be interesting how it will go through the courts and hopefully Lisa had a Will.

Priscilla grew it onto what it is today for the benefit of Lisa Marie. She will continue to guide it into the hands of Elvis's flesh and blood granddaughters. They are just as much a part of him as Lisa Marie, just a smaller percentage genetically speaking.

I am not surprised at her passing because it is so common for the immediate family to develop or have the on-sight of a health issue of the heart function at a younger age just like a parent or sibling. Her son had heart failure as well even at a younger age.

It’s a money machine. The family would be smart to keep it going and not sell the property and it’s contents. I am surprised that a good portion of Elvis’s other assets were even sold in 2005. In my opinion that was a mistake.
lisa has said in interviews what she wants to do with graceland not that long ago and i’m sure she was smart enough to have a will. their family is buried there. the kids have jobs and have no reason to get rid of it.
