    • @Punk-Jw
      @Punk-Jw 5 лет назад +2

      Your actually better off ouside the guys I saw going on the inside where going WAY to far down. About a car width away from the inside line is the groove you want to be in. If done corrctly you steer it out with as much throttle as you can without it getting to loose so that you end up closer to the wall about halfway down the track then in a gear that has your rpms up slowly start to come into the corner so by the time your at about half way threw your at the lowest point and your momentum start pushing you towards the top of the track near the wall. only a couple of these drivers knew how to run a circle track, not to mention you dont want to be shifting either, you want enough gear to take you from turn 2 to 3. The rpms and the drag from high rpms letting off the throttle is what keeps you in the corner. Its hard to explain I guess, but thats the basic idea.

    • @reallybuddy3259
      @reallybuddy3259 4 года назад

      @@Punk-Jw That is true at some tracks. Usually ones with a consistent radios turns and equal banking. There called handling tracks. horse power tracks are different its basically drag race down the straight brake hard (Glowing rotors) And dive for the bottom first. Altamont speedway in Ca was a track like your describing about a car width from the bottom was the fast line. Ukia and Carson city were drag race tracks HP and brakes. stockton 99 you would drag race down the straight brake hard aiming at the center of the outer wall between turn 3 and 4 then rotate last second and come back down the hill into the front straight. one and two are more of a standard shape like the one in the video. Remember these are not set up race cars on race tires there probably better off staying away from the wall so when they spin there is more space to avoid backing into the wall and wrecking there street car.

    Good racing, better when I was younger, guys had the balls to drive them faster and harder, i watched a 1978 Z28 called Caveman wreck in turn 4 and hit the opening to pits, he slammed that wall big time. The reverse races are fun also, then Figure 8's are the best. I used to go threw the 1970's and1980's then my dad died when I was 16. Only went back once, a FRIEND entered the race then demolition derby. He got $20 for his car from some guy. He took his plates off. That's was in 1992 or 1993 era. I do how ever miss going their. I made a bunch of MONEY as a kid, I picked up all the cans and sold them. Best fireworks show besides in Vegas now. But just as good maybe better. We went a lot, free parking and cheap to get in.

    All in all, there's about a 30m-60m (100ft-200ft) difference between the inside and outside cars when the race is over. The outside car would have to be considerably stronger than the inside lane car just to break even.

      It’s because there were no unprotected bystanders or opposing lines of traffic to confuse them.
      Typically the impact order is
      Spin tires, curb, grass, people.
      Or
      Spin tires, curb, median, oncoming cars at red light.
      I have a Ford and a Chevy. I haven’t hit anything in the Chevy yet.

    you cannot drag race on a oval track the inside lane always has the advantage

      When they do these races they draw for inside or outside of you get off the line faster you can take inside of you get there first

      Nope the inside lane is not always faster on an oval track. you can maintain more speed on the outside with the right driver and car. its not that simple there are many factors involved

    • @kevinschnepper8426
      @kevinschnepper8426 4 года назад

      Watch rockford speedways spectator drags the outside has the advantage it has more of a bank in the turns so they can run faster on the top and who said you have to stay in your lane you get ahead drop it down to the bottom and a way you go

      The Summit is unmatched when it comes to launching, but it is still a top heavy minivan on street tires, so it is no match against the 3000GT.

      Eh, they were the smarter choice for circuit racing. If it were 1/4 mile drag racing, you'd have seen more Novas and Camaros in the finals. Except that little Expo, there's a few videos of him around, he's able to get consistent 11-second quarter mile ETs.
