As a glasses wearer, I have been getting different glasses chains for different colors to bring it in more with lolita coords and normie clothes. I got a good and pearl one for my The Rival by baby Ponytail and I have a bat glasses chain that is going to be great for Lady Sloth Gone Batty.
Tall Lolitas I remember seeing a blog post a long time ago from a tall lolita with a very creative solution on lengthening sleeves. She inlaid a piece of lace about 3 or 4 inches above the cuff to extend the the sleeves. Depending on how much you need to extend, is how wide of a piece of lace you need.
Liz here! Thank you so much for the advice! 💖The blouse is banshee in forest from Surface Spell, and it is available in white too, so I might snatch that colorway up too so I can wear it with the headbow. I'm definitely thinking I'll grab some of that Puvithel jewelry, and I've been obsessed with the Lady Sloth overdress since they started posting pictures on instagram, so I'll probably order that too.
I am also a Liz that has asthma and wears glasses! I have some neutral pairs of glasses that can go with any coord (brown, gold, black), and I also have several fun pairs that I buy whenever my budget allows! My prescription is expensive even on cheaper websites, so if your prescription limits how many pairs you can purchase per year, go for a fun shape but in a neutral shade first, then get more fun colors later! Also I love your coord! 💖
For Liz I would recommend shoes in a darker red, I like the glasses actually and as a headpiece I would recommend a black headband with a veil or a ruffle headband. A gold blouse might be cool! But yes, the black blouse is gorgeous!
Any seamstress could do this very easily. Especially if the dress has waist ties. Taking a tiny bit of the waist fabric and putting it towards the straps would be an easy fix
if the straps have buttons, try strap extenders! i've also seen them called button or waist extenders. they're just a strip of fabric or elastic with buttons/buttonholes on them. i macguyvered myself a pair for a JSK that did not sit right at all on my torso and it helped SO MUCH. sidebar - because that JSK was fully shirred, the straps ended up falling off my shoulders (i have a very small chest) so i'm planning on making or commissioning longer strap extenders so i can crisscross them. i hope this helps!
I have always had a problem keeping my bedroom for relaxing/sleeping. As long as your bedroom is a happy place, a place you feel relaxed being in that it shouldn't be a problem.
As a 6ft girl I have cried many times over my arms and legs being way too long for most women's clothing. I'm super glad there's more options in Lolita now that there was back in 2009/10 when I originally wanted to get into the fashion (especially as an Australian, exchange rates and shipping was a killer), but man I'm keen for the tall edition of your vids (plus Holly has fantastic style). I'm actually in the process of making my first Lolita blouse and eventually dress etc, so I can make sure I have some basics that fit and aren't synthetic and sweaty
Glasses chains are great for styling glasses! Also, here in Europe there are chain stores that have budget prescription glasses, and some of those even have good deals like two sets for the price of one and such around the sale season. It might be worth looking into that? I understand spending more money on your "main" pair, but it can be nice to have one or more spares that go well with your coords. (I'm not sure about most chain opticians, but I know that at least Ace&Tate has a website and worldwide shipping!)
For Chippers, what if you added a more sheer bell-sleeved blouse underneath that dress? I feel like the flared sleeves would look so pretty, and it being wider at the bottom solves the cuff problem. You could also add wrist cuffs with it to sort of mask the length, or gloves
Maann the shock I felt rn~ I have the first girls dress (Magic Night Museum in black) in my cart rn and I was legit going back and forth on actually buying it when this vid popped up. But Liz looks soo good in it, I'm definitely gonna have to get it now lolol.
I love the red blouse with your black hair in this coord Lor, it's so beautiful. I know it's not something that one has tons of control over, and that wigs are a thing, but oh man I wish my hair was as long and thick as yours!
Oh Lor! I love this coord so much on you! The colors look so great with your hair and skin tone! I actually think, that such mature, muted colors fit you way better than pastels, but I'm a classic lolita, so I might be biased in that point. Anyways, great coord my dear! ❤️
Kat's jsk would also look good with a darker off-white blouse to match the bear's fur and the ribbon lacing. I can picture it with a cute old school, removeable sleeve style blouse. Also maybe a thicker short sleeved blouse like the ones they sell on tinygarden on taobao.
@mahourae For Rae I would definitely recommend a princess sleeve blouse, I think it would mimic the shape of the shoulder fabric and have a nice cascading effect
I love these kinds of pastel wigs Lor mentioned here (of course not if they are like shiny costume cheap-looking), but I always feel conflicted about getting them, so Lor's reassurances are so - reassuring. Great video. I really love this series.
It's all about how you style them! The "ita" look generally had the detachable ponytails being poorly placed, the bangs untrimmed, and the wig uncombed/unwashed.
My favorite fix for helping friends with longer arms, if you or someone you know is handy with sewing, is picking the cuffs off of long-sleeved blouses and making new ones or adding an insert between the sleeve and cuff. The insert could be a matching fabric, a contrasting fabric, insertion lace, double layered with lace over a fabric...or you could just buy short sleeved blouses that have really pretty necklines and just replace the sleeves altogether. Also, short sleeves with gloves that go past the elbow can be a nice look.
omg I'm so happy you're making a video for tall lolita's! ok maybe a dumb one but as a tall person (6") I don't know how to find out if dresses will fit me. Ordering online is something I don't like to do regardless because of too many instances where I thought something would fit me and then didn't, but with lolita there's also the barrier of high prices for the items + shipping and additional taxes (I live in Europe), so it feels like too big a risk :/ I really don't know where to even start haha (even after admiring lolita for over 10 years now, it's only been recently that I've been feeling confident enough to try it out for myself ^^)
Re: cropped cardigan, I have the Dream of the Crop Cardigan from Modcloth in ivory and it looks great with lolita, so you might be able to use it! The only problem is that the neckline has a pretty deep v, so you'd still need a matching top under it and it doesn't have a huge space for bows. I think you could still add some fun, small pins or sew some small bows on.
Also, if you cannot afford too many pairs of glasses, try getting either a silver pair and a gold pair or a black and a white pair so you have two pairs that will go with most things
I just finished crocheting a lolita coord (well, jsk, blouse, hair and bow) for my doll and I’m not sure how well I did. I’d submit a photo but I’m not sure if it would fit here or not because you could at least tell me if the coord looks right. But, I haven’t had time to make a petticoat and shoes for my doll yet but she still looks great! She also has a hair bow and her hair is styled in two buns with bangs.
I’m a tall lolita and when my cuffs can’t button, I take a small clear elastic band (I used to do Rainbow Loom so I have a bunch), put it through the button hole and take both small loops over the button. This is very unnoticeable, and really helps with the fit of long sleeves when the cuff doesn’t reach your wrist as it’s supposed to.
Hi, I’m looking to get into lolita fashion and people keep mentioning tall lolitas? I’m 5’6” ish and I never really considered myself tall, but I see people shorter than me saying they are tall for lolita. Sorry that this isn’t really related but you mentioned tall lolitas in the video and wanted to see what would be considered tall in this fashion! Thank you :D

Keeping into consideration that this is a J fashion and mostly caters to japanese women, a "tall" Lolita would be anyone above 1.5 meters since that is the average height for women in Japan. That said, it's really not that hard to find dresses that are at least knee length, and as Lor always say, a lot of places do custom orders so you can get the perfect fit
There’s always things you can do to make it more appropriate for your height! Underskirts or even putting underlying lace on your dresses can help to add a little more coverage. You’re never too tall to wear Lolita but it does force you to get a tad bit more creative (I’m 5’4 and even some AP doesn’t go down quite as far as I’d like)
I'm pretty sure Lor is around 5'6" too. In Japan that is above average but Holly is 6' so you can see the struggle she has. Just know your measurements and you should be fine. Not just bust and waist measurements but also waist to knees and shoulder to wrist in centimeters.
My height is 164cm and there are a lot of dresses/skirts from japanese brands that are supposed to hit at knee height (and do so on the model) but they're between 3 to 5 cm shorter on me. I wouldn't consider myself a tall lolita though.
As a tall lolita myself I can totally relate to the long arms' strugle. My blouses are always custom sized, handmades or short-sleeved but I got one with those hime-style sleeves from Alice Girl(taobao brand) so I'd recommend measuring your arms and then checking the size charts because there are some tall and plus-size lolita friendly indie and taobao brands out there to make our lives easier. Also adjusting the cuffs of the blouses and making those lace-up is a really good advice.
bhiner's just a taobao shopping service, but they generally categorize popular items that you can search for instead of just going to taobao and search for what you want w/ all the translating nonsense. they have a cosplay site and i guess they have a lolita site and other sites
This may be controversial but using “normal fashion” blouses for tall lolitas has helped me out a lot. Especially since Chippers dress covers most of the top, something with just nice sleeves might not be too hard to find on Amazon or EBay. Checking those sites has helped me so much to adapt lolita into both plus size and tall friendly.
Im tall 5ft 9-10 i just buy my blouses from regular stores and go up a size or 2 from my regualr size to get the length that i need. I find it easier that way since a lot of clothing stores are selling vintage and frilly like blouses.
To make buttoning cuffs easier, you could also add some elastic loops to use for the buttons instead of the button holes! This isn't a specific lolita hack, just something my seamstress brain is thinking of :)
I think Liz's coord would look really really cool with red gloves! I saw some on Wunderwelt Fleur the other day, but I can't remember the brand off the top of my head.
for the second coord i was thinking the eyepatch looks a little costume-y because it's lacking detail, perhaps? i know i've seen some really detailed ones on etsy that have lace and stuff, they match much better i think with the amount of detail typical in lolita fashion pieces :0 the headress also sticks out a little i think because the white detailing doesn't quite match the lace trim on the dress.. but maybe that's just me. it still looks really cute overall though :3
Ah I haven‘t thought about that! I‘ll look into different eyepatches bc I rlly like the aesthetic of it🥺🥺🤍 TYSM this helped a lot! Also I made the headpiece with things that I could find in my small town 👉🏻👈🏻 Sadly couldnt find anything that could match and I wanted smth quick bc I was so excited for my first coord hehe
I am about 5'8-5'9 and am coming to realize as a new lolita, that I am a tall lolita. I have purchased several blouses that did not work like I'd like them to. My favorite blouse is from Axes Femme and I like to wear it with my lolita. Another problem I run into is the jsk dresses can sometimes have a much shorter torso and the waist falls more on my rib. I have an Infanta piece that fits me perfectly and accommodates my longer torso. I have found that I need to size up as much as possible in order to make things fit better.
Yes!! Tall lolita fashion tips please! I used to wear lolita in HS and always had issues with it. I'm recently getting back into wearing the fashion so advice and things to look out for would be great!
@@LovelyLor I just got Holy Lantern (Yay) and I think I'll get the new Ouji Cape by Princess Chronicles to part with it :> I've seen had my eye on the Mantle that comes with Black colourway of the Nightmare at Dawn Flower Set by Arcadian Deer witch is SOOO dramatic and flowy! it looks like Devil Inspired has a Little Red Riding Hood section with loads of cloaks and there's a cute elf-y charismas-y Cape by With PUJI that is super cute.
I love your coordinate here, you look like lolita Snow White 😺 As a thick-ass glasses wearer i can only recommend delicate metal glasses. I do wear round Potter like glasses in some sort of gold-silver mixture colour and it matches almost everything 🤗
I think some gold history themed jewellery would be really nice with the first dress. Goth jewellery is silver a lot of the time and while that can work I think gold would tie in very nicely. (Of course goth jewellery isn't always silver and it always depends on the piece, no saying that). I was thinking maybe a small old picture/mirror frame or a key?
For Liz's coord: I know cute plus size tights are hard to find but www.etsy.com/shop/TejaJamilla has tights that I think would be perfect for this dress.
Lor is over here encouraging me to live my best babbylita ita life and u know..... i will. I will do it. I don't care. Watch me. Watch OUT. LMao xD worst coords r on the way.
okay but oh my gaaaaawsssshhhh i looooove Chippers' dress!!!! that's so beautiful!!! tbh her coord was alreADY gorgeous but yes, I also support the idea of long gloves and a winter cape!!! so cozy!!! so elegant! much wow!
On the blouse sleeve length note: western clothing in 'victorian' or 'edwardian' style gets into lolita fashion floofy, so maybe try those? etsy searches are looking great. I'm waiting on an order from www.historicalemporium.com/store/ladies-blouses.php so I can't speak to quality, but the styles look great.
Question: I went to spirit Halloween to buy a costume and there was just socks there. Like random socks. They’re very thick, good quality, they’re OTKs and they’re pink. They do have white stripes on the top but you can barely notice them and the dress I’m getting might cover that up anyways. If it doesn’t, I honestly don’t care. So would y’all kill me if I wore those with lolita?
Bolero? A bolero is a short jacket, and sometimes the word is also used for sweaters. If you're looking on English-language sites, they're also called shrugs.
I'm definitely not tall by any means, but for the blouse sleeve buttoning issue I just wanted to add that I have a blouse that has sheering/elastic cuffs and I've seen others, so that could be an option. Could then add wristcuffs to make up for the length?
So I have a question, I’m currently buying my first cord ever and want to know if it matters if I use different brands. Like can I use angelic pretty and baby the stars shine bright pieces to make a coherent cord? Or could I use a classic style dress and sweeten it up with sweet Lolita accessories? I really don’t know.
Check out #lolitainglasses hashtag on instagram :) I'm mostly the person tagging my pics, but a couple more people used it too. It'd be nice if those o you who have to wear glasses would tag your coords too! :D I normally stick to blak and gold or grey with texture frame as it blends into my wardrobe quite well (I'm mostly into gothic and classic lolita)

Love this coord Lor!!
Yes!! Tall lolita fashion tips please! I used to wear lolita in HS and always had issues with it. I'm recently getting back into wearing the fashion so advice and things to look out for would be great!
Yesss love this thank you lor!!!
Cloaks!!!! Cloaks and Lolita! Yes yes yes!
I want to get one so bad!
@@LovelyLor I just got Holy Lantern (Yay) and I think I'll get the new Ouji Cape by Princess Chronicles to part with it :>
I've seen had my eye on the Mantle that comes with Black colourway of the Nightmare at Dawn Flower Set by Arcadian Deer witch is SOOO dramatic and flowy!
it looks like Devil Inspired has a Little Red Riding Hood section with loads of cloaks and there's a cute elf-y charismas-y Cape by With PUJI that is super cute.
Ita challenge!
the eyepatch, get a lace designed one!!

I love your coordinate here, you look like lolita Snow White 😺 As a thick-ass glasses wearer i can only recommend delicate metal glasses. I do wear round Potter like glasses in some sort of gold-silver mixture colour and it matches almost everything 🤗
Great video, thank you💞💕🌸👍
I think some gold history themed jewellery would be really nice with the first dress. Goth jewellery is silver a lot of the time and while that can work I think gold would tie in very nicely. (Of course goth jewellery isn't always silver and it always depends on the piece, no saying that). I was thinking maybe a small old picture/mirror frame or a key?
congraaats on 100k
I love firmoo for cheap glasses for lolita. You can get single vision lenses for $10 with coupons.
For Liz's coord: I know cute plus size tights are hard to find but www.etsy.com/shop/TejaJamilla has tights that I think would be perfect for this dress.
I appreciate the work from home tips as well as the lolita tips.
Lor is over here encouraging me to live my best babbylita ita life and u know..... i will. I will do it. I don't care. Watch me. Watch OUT. LMao xD worst coords r on the way.
okay but oh my gaaaaawsssshhhh i looooove Chippers' dress!!!! that's so beautiful!!! tbh her coord was alreADY gorgeous but yes, I also support the idea of long gloves and a winter cape!!! so cozy!!! so elegant! much wow!
uhmm, I'm all in favor for an Ita Day??!! PLEASE???
I love you Lor 👏👏👏💕❤️
I have a blouse where the sleeves are short so I wear like flatter wrist cuffs with then bigger puffier ones on the wrists if that makes sense
Why can’t there be more people like this around me! 😭
Even if I lose all my friends, lovely lor will always call me her friend. I'll always have a friend, even if she doesn't know I exist 😂
SOS iso red ruffle socks that aren’t nylon. Anyone know where I can purchase?
I like your outfit but not with the blue blow I think if it was also red it would be so great
Devil inspired has a lot of nice head pieces.
If they're good quality, go for it! No one will know where you got it unless you tell them anyway.
@@KLT-id9nm thanks!
May I know the name of the word she uses at 14:03 please
English isn't my first language and I've been looking for those for a while :(
Bolero? A bolero is a short jacket, and sometimes the word is also used for sweaters. If you're looking on English-language sites, they're also called shrugs.
@@lady_sir_knight3713 thank you so much!! That's the word I've been looking for
The last time I was this early Epstein wasn't assassinated. Jokes aside thank you for uploaded right when I wake up! It was an awesome treat.
I'm definitely not tall by any means, but for the blouse sleeve buttoning issue I just wanted to add that I have a blouse that has sheering/elastic cuffs and I've seen others, so that could be an option. Could then add wristcuffs to make up for the length?
Does anybody know where to buy really cute Lolita flats?? I have a dress but I can’t find shoes to match
as a genderless being who loves clothes, ai really appreciated the air quotes around "men's"
Doesn't matter if you mix and match brand pieces! As long as the coord looks cohesive and is comfortable to wear, you're golden :)
Hello.
Lolita Bihner is a reliable source and it's very easy to order from.
yes!!
Check out #lolitainglasses hashtag on instagram :) I'm mostly the person tagging my pics, but a couple more people used it too. It'd be nice if those o you who have to wear glasses would tag your coords too! :D I normally stick to blak and gold or grey with texture frame as it blends into my wardrobe quite well (I'm mostly into gothic and classic lolita)
ok, the image of a tall person with short arms is goddamn hilarious to me
