What a shame that a beautiful country as North Korea could be run under such a scary dictatorship. Those people who live in South Korea must be blessed that they do not starve to death while looking at that view. I would be!
careful? u know there is a tourist boat on a river border that drives ppl around showing north korea. & yes u can basically shout over the river. its way closer than the starbucks binoclars. + dont we forget the bridge for tourists u can 50% cross to its drawn line.
It sounds like they had 71 years to do that, but they would rather hate each other than allow people to cross the 38th parallel which separates the 2 countries. Armed guards at the 38th parallel have a reputation for ending anybody's life who tries to go from one country to the other. Telling those people to stop shooting and shake hands is asking them to go from one extreme to the other.
@@MrJuvefrank They don't hate each other? You're talking out of your own perception. SK people dislike the leader for obvious reasons and have pity for the citizens that live there. If they hated them they wouldn't be putting so much efforting helping people escape. I think you're projecting what you wish to see them as, enemies.
Great way to rub it in to the starving neighbors literally next door. I’m pretty sure people watching from the roof wants to secretly ship large amounts of Starbucks to them
0:39 the war did not actually end. They (USA, China, NK) agreed to an armistice to end active fighting, and established the DMZ. Because there has been no treaty, the countries remain technically at war.
Is that considered Stalking or spying? Using special equipment to look at someone without permission in another country. Imagine you live there and people look at your daily life activity all the time.
That's absolutely terrifying. Watching them as if they were in a cage like wild beasts. Hopefully one day both Korea's can reunite and there'd be peace once again.
Anyone remember the South Korean TV series CRASH LANDING ON YOU? Imagine the Ducklings drinking Starbucks while seeing their homeland from the other side.
I hope north korea builds their own north korean Starbucks on the other side so they be like looking at each other while eating biscuits and north korean tea while throwing hand gestures to the other side 😂 that would be fun.
There's something desensitizing about enjoying 1st world freedoms while viewing 3rd world conditions without a screen in your face. Starbucks is weird for this one.
Yes it was.. that's why there is different countries and nations and we speak our own languages eat different foods and like different stuff. but the idea of a dictatorship is wrong
I'm not surprised. People aren't living in environments that encourage empathy consistently. Before you know it they might even make a gameshow where they snap pictures of North Koreans and guess how much food they ate in a year based off how malnourished they look.
There's nothing more relaxing that sipping on Frappuccino while looking at your starving neighbors..
Exactly gosh I love being privileged.
Tell me what South Koreans can do. Cross the border???

Wallah that’s weird mate
Seeing your own people only yards away from freedom is both insane and depressing.
I totally agree! I would feel so helpless. They have family members over there too.
It's amazing how much of a "tourist attraction" the demilitarized zone is.
Not on my list of places to visit, military and bureaucrats, how not exciting.
Capitalism flexing on Communism 😂😂😂
While market capitalism as a socioeconomic system sends humanity to extinction due to not being a complex adaptive system.
Capitalism using communism to it's advantage
Capitalism is Oligarchy wearing a trench coat
I think this is the point knowing south korea
Amazing that u think nk practices communism
When they fire employees they exit through the backdoor right into North Korea 😂
That is cool,,,who wants SBUX workers with purple blue green yellow orange pink HAIR?!?,,,,,lmao
What kind of starbucks is that the ceo office?😹😂🤣

It's on the north floor not the south floor for sure

I didn't know that; I thought it was worse than a zoo.

0:33, That statement contradicts itself. Since there was no treaty, the war technically never really ended.

No ‘full out fighting’ since 1953
