- This video shows you how to take the Sound Transit Link Light Rail from the baggage claim area of SeaTac International Airport to Seattle (Columbia City Station). I do a walking tour from bagfage claim to the link light station so as to give you a feel of what it’s like to actually walk there.
Hope you enjoy this video and if you do please buy me pho. 🍜✌️

Great! I was in Seattle 20 years ago. No any Link Light Rail that time. A bus only.
Aaaah I love joyriding Sound LINK train!
I love the alert chimes when the doors are opening and closing on Sound Transit train. 😌 🎶
This was so informative. Never got a chance to experience the light rail when I was in Seattle so thank you for posting this! I love that they use the honor system for the tickets. Reminds me of taking The Max when I used to live in PDX
Thank you Dennis! I feel confident with my move next month because of your videos
Thanks for this informative video. I am going to take the light rail next weekend. Now I will be a little more prepared and knowledgeable about what I will be doing.
Thanks, helps me know what to expect when I fly there.
Thank you so much, it was very helpful for me 🙏🏾
I remember doing the exact opposite many years back.
Oh how time is flying so quickly!
It's so easy to take the light rail from Greenwood to the airport. Love it!

Thank you very much. Vids like this are extremely valuable for visual learners like me. I have to say that this looks like quite a long walk given that I am older, need to use a cane and we will be towing along quite a lot of luggage. I need to know more about the complimentary Train-to-Plane shuttle between the terminal and the Link Light Rail station.
Thank you so much this helped a lot. Flying in soon and need to take the train, and had no idea how to get there once I landed. Very informative 👍🏼
This Link light rail video is like a perfect segue into your Columbia City walking tour video from last month Dennis, nice work!

For 2.75 that beats sitting in traffic. Like you said Mr Dennis, your tax dollars are paying for it, might as well use it. Arizona sounds like a nice trip this year,we went to Moab UT last year for vacay. Now you can do a video riding Amtrak from Seattle to Leavenworth. I'll wave at you when you pass by Picnic Point.
Indeed. Uber would be at least X 10 the price.
Epic video. I usually take the bus back down to Tacoma. Put a couple coins in that big bus, and the wheels go round and round. Go get ‘em. Boon 🎉
Thanks a lot. I'll be traveling there for a conference and would like to utilize all electric transportation while there. Bikes, scooters, rail, etc. This is very informative.
Thank you for using the LINK Lightrail good sir. Please do the video on our water taxi next. 😊
I will buy you some Pho any time, but only in person. Awesome video Mr. Ocean, love ya brother .. 👍🔥💨🍻✌️
🤜 🤛
@@LaoOcean oh, love the intro... 👍👍👍😆😅😂🤣
Thank you for this. Just show some more of the signs on your walk.
as a Uber Driver… I discourage people from taking the Light Rail… It’s like $4
or take my smelly Prius Uber from Seattle for $80 base to Airport! lol return trip is only $65! lol
😆
Welcome home👏👏👏👏👏very nice and helpful video of light rail trip from SeaTac Airport👍👍
Just a fair warning to watch out for panhandlers and scammers who prey on tourists and weary travelers. I'm not a stranger to large cities and scammers but after a long day of being airports and flying, a scammer got me! This was around 7 years ago when the city was going through a huge boom and I was unaware of how bad the panhandler/homeless problem was getting so my guards were down since I was still in the airport property. When I come to Seattle the first thing I do is fill up my Orca card and/or buy a day pass and as I was doing that, I got some change back which were Sacagawea Golden Dollar Coins and just then someone who could pass for a fellow weary passenger and said they didn't have change for the light rail and so I gave them the 5 bucks change that the machine spit out. Before I had a chance to even get my stuff together, they were gone down the stairs and they were definitely not using the money for the light rail.
I mean it was only $5 but for all I know, maybe they were planning on taking off with my belongings or wallet or something and just didn't have the opportunity. It was a rude awakening to how the city had changed since my last visit so I kept my guards up since.
Thank you! I needed to see how long the walk was from baggage claim! I was wondering if they had golf carts to bring you to the link if you have mobility issues?
Great video, your picture quality is always good and you are a smooth operator. Dennis, I'm surprised you don't have an ORCA card!
I had one… need to get one again.
Thank you so much! So if I wanted to go to pike street probably get off at pioneer square? That was very helpful!
To get to Pike Street or Pike Place Market you would get off at Westlake and walk west a few blocks.
Westlake or University Street... Pike is pretty much right in the middle of both. Depends what part of Pike... I usually use University Street if I want to go to Pike Market... I feel like the walk from the train to the station exit is shorter (might not actually be the case).
That is a lot of walking with luggage. Seems like an afterthought compared to SF, Chicago, JKF, or Atlanta.
I did this when I visited Seattle. I got off the train at Westlake Station and walked very fast to my hotel on 6th Street. I don't care for the area around Westlake.
We were there at the end of May/beginning of June and stayed at the Paramount Hotel and the Crowne Plaza and didn't feel at all unsafe in that area. Never once got approached or hassled in any way.
Can I have the ticket with APP? Or Apple Pay?
Thanks for sharing. Being a tourist and traveling with bags from the Airport has a passenger ever got any grief or basically threatened. Just asking because I thought about taking the Link Rail to Westlake instead of ubering
Many people do it just be aware and you should be fine.
If construction has seemingly been going on since... forever, you're at SeaTac Airport! After that walk it looks like they should have a light rail to the light rail.
Yeah it’s a bit of a walk. 😆
I was working on a construction project at SeaTac a couple years ago and we had to arrive/leave a little over an hour early to work just in order to bus in and out of SeaTac(along with security). We were also working 10s which made for a relatively long day.
Flying in from Va in about 3 weeks, I know it’s a lot cheaper but they say a taxi is quicker but is the with traffic factored in? I’d hate to spend $50 to save 30 mins only to then sit in traffic for the same time
Depends when you’re coming in, when it’s not rush hour traffic usually fine.
I think we get in at about 2:30 Seattle time
@@greglittle1778 taxi should be fine
You're paying a lot of taxes for the roads in Washington state, too.
Did you know it takes 90 minutes from seatac to northgate? that's twice as long as driving :D
No it doesn’t. It takes 55-58 minutes
What other way is there to get to the train except walking?
No other way
There is supposed to be a shuttle. Where do you catch it?
No shuttle
I lost me dog in February.#Nomoredogs=freedom!
#findindianmaninamerica this guy is use to be RUclipsr he disappeared suddenly he use to live in seattle please anyone find him.😢
Thank you brother, this was very useful. I never been to Seattle but it pays to take the light rail rather than renting a car and driving in a town that’s new. I will say one thing. It’s a hell of a walk from the baggage claim to the Sea-Tac Station. You gotta walk the entire width of the parking garage, then, I noticed, you had to walk a long walkway to the station, then shlep up to the actual train platform. I was getting tired watching you walk the entire length. I imagine not everyone can walk that far with luggage in hand. Jews take a taxi! I’m not Jewish but I live with them in South Florida and I know what they’re gonna say, before they even say it. That’s scary, ain’t it? I’m not even Jewish and I’m starting to think like them from all the years of living with them in South Florida! Well, that’s something I need to discuss with my therapist but watching you walk that much, made me totally Verklempt! It means totally overwhelming but it’s cheaper than a taxi. Thanks for your video. It was great! 4 stars! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Thank for watching and the comment. Can I get 5 stars though? 😆✌️
@@LaoOceanYes you can! I only gave 4 stars because I didn't think it went higher but you're right, you're personality is what puts you above the other videos. I will give you 5 umbrellas instead of stars since you're a local of the Seattle area. How's that? ☂️☂️☂️☂️☂️ 😂
