So ironic that rottenborn said Johnny “blames other people, refuses to take accountability” when that’s exactly what amber did during her entire testimony. She didn’t admit to even ONE wrongdoing.
Rottenborn delivers his closing with abusive undertones. He's manipulative. Even so many months later I am so very grateful to see the truth won. Jury got it right, and they didn't know at the time, just how bad AH is. She is unlike anything I've ever seen. Very sick women. Johnny is lucky to be alive.
That name is pretty fitting for him, sneaky man trying to manipulate everyone, but in the end he just runs around the same topic, trying to get jury to believe that there's no need for more pics, medical reports or better videos, that her words and poor texts are enough. Like Johnny's lawyer said, "Lies are not protected under the first amendment." Lies that defame character are NOT protected speech. Lies that cost people their reputation and livelihood are NOT protected speech.
It makes me angry that they have tried to make this a first amendment issue. This coming from Amber's lawyers when she has tried to silence people that have spoken out about her. So hypocritical.
That was covered in his closing argument. Proven lies are not protected. Depp has/had the burden of proving those were lies.
He failed in the UK libel case. This is his second attempt. The UK libel case gave the go ahead to write about it because it was proven true by a civil court standard. He's gotten his second chance to prove it false...jury will reconvene on Tuesday.
I wish a similar argument could be made in lieu of the SECOND amendment. 😔

This case hits a little too close to home for me because my mother is a histrionic personality disorder woman and my dad is very sensitive, almost too sensitive, like Depp. Its like watching my parents divorce all over again. Only this time, thankfully, the narcissist is being called out appropriately. Something my poor father didn't have the luxury to experience because Depp's lawyers are wonderful.

The law doesn't allow damaging and false claims as free speech. There are limits to free speech. Falsely accusing someone to harm them is illegal. That's why people are able to press charges and sue. It's a form of terrorism to use speech to harm people or anything.

No matter how hard juries try to make decisions based only on evidence, their feelings towards the attorneys ALWAYS impact the decision. The best trial attorneys make it their #1 goal to be liked by the jury. Not to alienate the jury as AH’s team did.

For over a year I’ve been stuck on certain parts of Amber’s testimony and keep coming back to watch the trial. The one example that haunts me is when Elaine asks Amber why Johnny “can’t” or won’t look her in the eyes and WHEN that recording was taken. Her replies are the perfect summary of her entire testimony.
The WHEN-She explained that the recording was the second to last time they saw each other but the next time they were in a room together she says “…and Johnny VERY MUCH looked me in the eyes…”
But then follows it up by saying “….he can’t look at me because he KNOWS he’s guilty. Otherwise, why won’t he look at me. I survived. I survived that man…” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Also, differed people are affected differently by drugs, and as witnesses said: Johnny can take a lot, and not be affected as badly as many others. I am a dv survivor and stayed in a dv protection home. There were men with their children in this home because they were dv victims and needed protection from their wife.
In this case it seems like JD needed protection from his addiction to drugs and alcohol so that he could function properly at work and have healthy relationships.

Wow, I really wanted to hear this closing argument from the defense in hopes of any "enlightenment" but it never came. It's like they concentrated on the "instructions to the jury" more than actual evidence. One of the biggest fallacies of this closing is his mention that Amber tried her best to leave but wasn't able, when it's pretty objectively been proven otherwise, even, to a certain extent, by Amber's team's provided evidence. I wouldn't have hit on that point, it's a really presumptuous point and devalues anything else he might say after.
