Kala Stuff - New California U-Bass & Strings Information

I got my Kala Sunburst, 5 String .. 4 days ago, it's a got the low B, just as I hoped! I love it so far! I wasn't going to buy it, but he dropped the price 30% so after tax $335 USD! I am very happy with this beautiful bass. Sounds lovely!! I am considering flats. I run flats on my Hofner so ... hmm ... and thank you for your content. You helped me decide on this Kala!

I have one of those tiny Guild fretless 4 string basses that came out with the rubber strings.. I never had a lot of success with the strings I’d like to put some flat wounds on it..

Bearing in mind that some guys believe only a 35” scale can work with a low B I can’t believe a low B speaks on these instruments.

I have that 5-string with a low B. It works, but you won't be playing any clangy metal riffs with it. The overtones and the attack just isn't there.
