Thanks for watching! What are your plans for December school? Do you have something specific related to Christmas that you are studying?

Santa is a controversial topic for a lot of families. I always told my kids Santa only brings one toy and it’s usually something small like a board game or book and the rest is from mom and dad lol. Our advent study this year is from advent blocks and it’s called the king is coming. So far it’s been great and easy to understand for littles. Thanks for sharing, and your dog is adorable 🧡

I completely agree on the Santa topic. Years ago when my daughter was five a friend told her there was no Santa and shen she asked me and I told her the truth she lost it. She cried heartbroken and and asked what else I was lying about and it broke my heart, and her trust in me. I was astounded because I think I just always just knew there wasn't a really North Pole Santa as a child. She would write to him year round though and also to Winnie the Pooh in the Hundred Acre Wood lol.
So now seven years later no santa at all my seven year old is feeling like she didn't get to have that magic and she feels like she lost something. Sometimes I feel like I can't win in parenting. Finally this year I said look the if you want to pretend and have fun with the Santa thing thats okay we can do that because Saint Nicholas was a very magical person in his time but the focus in iur family unit is Jesus. Its been a hard thing to navigate. Also the tooth fairy. I grew up with it all so I struggle with feeling pike Im depriving thwm of their childhood lol 🤦‍♀️

I was surprised our kids didn't show much emotion when they found out. We still do all the Santa, magically things but the kids know it us and just for fun. Our main focus is Jesus and advent. Surprisingly, the kids said this was their best Christmas. They were more grateful for too because they knew who got their gifts.

I also feel uncomfortable about pretending Santa exists. The other day my daughter told me she saw him and I ended up comparing him to a tree! There are the real ones and the stand in (fake ones). My two will be disappointed that they don't get what they want. They think Santa's elves could make a Pixie Flyer that has got poor reviews.

Our kids didn't show much emotion when they found out. They just asked if they still got presents.🤦‍♀️
