@@emilyjames3110 Hi Emily, I personally don’t have PCOS so I can’t comment or offer advice around skincare for this. However, my friend who does, focused on her diet to help support her hormones better.
I myself have suffered with bad breakouts and mild acne in the past. I quickly realised that it was because of the dairy that I was eating (it doesn’t sit well with my stomach or skin) and the junk food I was constantly consuming at university. That being said, I also used a consistent skincare routine to help combat my breakouts. This all took time from adjusting to a new diet and skincare routine. I did do a video about how I got clearer skin 3 years ago, but what I know now about skincare is completely different so wouldn’t recommend watching that.
All in all, I’d say review your diet and current skincare routine. If you need health and nutritional advice please see a professional or a doctor.
For skincare, look at going back to basics is something I always go back to. Taking out products that don’t work and keeping the products that do work. I have taken out a lot of fragranced products from my routine as they can be an irritant. People suggest using skincare with actives such as salicylic acid to help with acne. I myself use a salicylic acid based face wash- Cerave SA cleanser. This paired with an acid toner such as Paula’s Choice BHA toner has helped to keep my skin at bay. I also use hydrocolloid patches when spots to do arise to avoid picking.
Although, you may have acne, you may also benefit from addressing your skin type too, as a lot of products out there can be quite abrasive and harsh on the skin.
I am sorry I can’t offer you solid advice, I can only account for my personal experience and as someone who is not a doctor or skincare professional I can’t advise you on products. I hope this has helped in someway or another. I wish you well in finding a routine that works for you! ✨

The redken shampoo probably stopped working for you because it was expired. Once any hair product is opened, generally in 12 months it expires. There’s a little jar with a lid on the back of hair products with a number next to it and that represents the amount of months it’s good for once it’s opened. Once something is expired it doesn’t work the way it should anymore and can grow bacteria in it. But if something looks and smells different than it used to then it’s expired.

Thank you for sharing this! I honestly forgot about expiry dates and yeah that’s probably why it working anymore, though it didn’t look or smell any different to when I first used it.
