  • In this video, I am making two gears for my future project on a homemade gear cutting machine. gear sizes 16mm x 18 teeth. the second is larger 25.6mm by 30 teeth. module 0.8. do not judge strictly for the quality of the gears, they are not perfect. But for a machine of such a small size, assembled from trash in two evenings, it is quite normal. perfect for my future project. soon you will see it. for the manufacture of these gears, a new dividing disk had to be made, which did not take much time. in general, see the result in this video.

I am very impressed with your ability to create your gear cutting machine and I will subscribe so that I can view how your agile mind copes with other engineering problems.
If ,as you say you are happy with the product your machine produces then read no further. If on the other hand you will allow me to suggest possible improvements, please read on.
I am going to use the terms 'Accuracy' and 'Precision' . These terms are often used as alternatives but I will use them as they are used in Metrology where they are not interchangeable. Accuracy means how closely the product dimension fits within the stated tolerances and Precision means how well a process can be repeated. For example ten shots in the Gold is both accurate and precise whereas the same grouping on the outer edge is precise but inaccurate.
Firstly your index plate is an excellent alternative to purchasing an expensive 'off the shelf item' and can produce precise angular movement. An improvement I would suggest is to drill using a centre drill with a depth stop which will give your detent the ability to locate with precision. Angling the detent to match the angle on the centre drill will assist.
Because you are using your eye and skill to position, firstly the centre punch and then the drill, you are inviting errors in accuracy on your index plate. A difficult problem to overcome. My suggestion would be to investigate in your environment what manufactured 'gears' you can find (broken toys come to mind) that your use to engineer your indexing plate from. Turn your machine on it's head and work backwards to get holes fixed from an accurate source.
Another source of inaccuracy when drilling holes is the drill itself. I once bought a set of drills because they were cheap, when I inspected them they had all been ground so the cutting edges were different lengths. They wandered about on their centre and cut oversize.
All the above is added in the hope that it will help you in fantastic endeavours, keep it going.

Думаю причина в жесткости. на маленькой шестеренке получилось лучше. на большой похуже там рычаг больше по этому наверно
