As someone who gets panic attacks...... I don't think people understand what Carmy is going through. Him thinking about Syd and instantly starting to calm down is a BIG DEAL. Someone like that, you want to give them the world. You would literally do anything to keep them close to you. ( Carm had this experience in s1 e8 when Syd came back to the Beef) The relief on his face is like he can finally breathe. And (s2 e8: that moment of dread he experience when he feels like he's making her unhappy or angry) he literally said "this is what you wanted, and that's what I'm giving you" Most people don't think, they watch a show and because the sub lead doesn't fit their version of beauty standards or the one that's promoted by society( white, blonde with blue or green eyes)... then they think the leading character should only be friends with characters like Syd. Watching this show is like my version of reality with anxiety. I assure you, Syd is Carmy's anchor (his safe place). And Syd is so closed off from everything, she's all about business, but she's slowly opening up to Carm and she doesn't even realize it.
@@livingbyfaith1I don’t think it’s fair to suggest people who dislike the carmy/syd ship are motivated out of society’s beauty standards.
