Wow!!! Thank you so much! The inversion of the keyboard to write is my fav. What a gamechanger! I’ve been awkwardly taking the ipad off each time. THANK YOU!
To those that have now been doing this for a year now - do you find it damages the keyboard? Just came across this Video and wonder if it could cause damage after awhile
Update...You can now go to control centre in settings where you can add the keyboard brightness to the control panel. Tap on globe + c and that opens your control centre.
You can also turn the iPad into a Mac laptop now by clicking the little one on the bottom right with icon looks like a tv casting screen with 3 little screens to the left of it. 🤯
Nice and steady, brilliantly clear instructions. You explained as tho you were speaking to someone that had NO idea - me. I came away feeling enlightened and informed. Thanks so much.
Glad to learn holding the Command key shows all the shortcuts (I have an app that does it for me on the laptop/desktop). Also, someone at Macrumors showed me that Command-Period gives me “Escape”, so I don’t have to lose my emoji key. Thanks!
Thanks for the tips. I have the new Magic Keyboard for the M4 iPad Pro and I learned a few things indeed (new to trackpads). I love this keyboard and special thanks for the bonus tip. I do draw on my iPad and I was wondering if I could do anything to improve the position of the screen. The new magic keyboard wobbles a bit when you draw on it while it’s in the standard position, but turning it around makes drawing a whole lot better/easier. So thank you for that 👍
Thank you for these excellent tips. I was wondering if you would help me sort out a an annoying problem with the key board. When I am using say Twitter, after replying to a comment, as soon as i click reply, the screen changes and goes to the home page. It’s frustrating me! It does not happen when the key board is not attached. Thank you
I had to turn off tap-to-click as I have issues with incidental activations. I’ve also found that the ESR Rebound Magnetic Keyboard Case is a near identical replacement for the Magic Keyboard and has some improvements over it, for 1/3 of the price.
Not sure if this is new to someone out there but pressing the shift key while arrowing right or left highlights that word to the right or left. Also, holding down the shift key while pressing down or up arrow, highlights a whole line. Or command home or end while holding the shift key highlights to the end or beginning from the cursor point.
But does the Magic keyboard have the two ‘game changers’ for me: A light or sound indication that Caps Lock key has been pressed (which I sometimes to do accidentally) and a Delete to the right key
hey there thanks a lot for the video. Nice tips! One question. Is there a way to select the suggestions with a hardware keyboard? This would improve my productivity, workflow unlocked. I can’t seem to find anything related to this. Thanks!
Great Video thanks. I use the polish keyboard and sometimes I have to use the iPad screen to change the letters from an English A to Polish Ą with the accent. Do you know a short cut or work around on the keyboard for this? Thanks
I don't I'm afraid, I just had a quick look to see if I could get it to work. I can see that this seems to work totally differently to Mac OS (where you would simply hold the 'a' key until your accent options appear). It's a shame, feels like a missed feature by Apple.
Found out now how to do it. If you hold down the option key and the letter key it should change the letter based on the keyboard you have selected at the time.
Hi I have problems with my Magic Keyboard iPad caps lock key. Looked at your shift key repair but seems caps lock key is different and can’t come around 🤷♀️any advice/tips?😊
How to close the background apps using Magic Keyboard? Using 2 finger, swipe up, am I right? There is any setting need to set up this? Or it’s originally works like that?
When i am typing i get this blue box that pops up around the search bar like i highlighted it or something, usually right when i hit my space bar after typing the first word. It drives me absolutely insane and if anyone knows how to fix it, i would highly appreciate it.
Yeah, I don't understand why that feature couldn't come to, what is essentially a physical keyboard attached to the tablet. Doesn't make sense when you can do it on Macs, and on the on-screen keyboard of your devices.
Hi what would you prefer Ipad Air 4 with 64 gb with Magic keyboard or 256 without magic keyboard? I'm buying this ipad to replace my laptop and use it for like 4 years
I often have problem with the tab key when it highlights over an app or elsewhere and I can’t get rid of the highlight. It there an easy way to turn it off etc. Thanks
Love your videos. So clear. I have a Logitech Touch Combo keyboard for my 6th gen iPad Pro & it works almost exactly as the Magic Keyboard😊. Is there anyway to disable the trackpad on the keyboard? Or even a temporary trick to disable it? Thanks a bunch.
I'm afraid so... Instagram isn't a native iPad app, which is why it can't be displayed in landscape mode (any native iPad app would have a landscape function as well as portrait). The Magic Keyboard is not designed to be used in portrait mode at all.
These tips was super helpful ❤👌. Subscribed your channel . My new WHITE magic keyboard is yet to be delivered , along with ipad pro 12.9 M1. I will use these tips once i get my new ipad pro 12.9 M1 & new WHITE magic Keyboard
Glad you found them useful. That white ipad and keyboard setup looks great. I've always gravitated toward space grey, but I do like the look of the white. And the M1 iPad Pro looks like it's going to be an absolute powerhouse!
@@ProperHonestTech Felt very nice reading your comment. Thanks for your message. I am counting days for my new ipad pro 12.9 M1 to be shipped home 😁. Have a good day !! 😊
Hi Tom. I have the Magic Keyboard and I would like to know why I keep getting a boarder randomly cropping parts of my screen. It can move when using the arrow keys on the right bottom but if I want to type something my space bar doesn’t want to work. Any help with this would be great. Love you RUclips page and learning heaps of information that you share. Thank Bryan.
I just got my new magic keyboard yesterday but I can't figure out how to get rid of the onscreen keyboard to strictly type on the magic keyboard. The Magic one will not accept the space bar entry nor the caps/shift controls. I have to use the onscreen keyboard to do those functions. Is there a setting to change this? I had the older version of this magic keyboard and never had this problem.
I need to emphasize the magic keyboard will not function at all unless the onscreen keyboard is showing. I cannot type on the magic keyboard without the onscreen one showing. What am I doing wrong?
I think you're referring to the pointer? It's in Settings, under Accessibility. Look for Pointer Control, and ensure that you've not got it hidden in there. It will only apply when you're connected to a Magic Keyboard.
I don’t feel the “escape” key is important. You can hold globe and H to go home or slide 3 fingers up on trackpad. Two easy ways to escape to Home Screen without changing the keys. No need for the escape anymore. There are other ways to leave the app. I don’t know that’s what I am feeling anyway. Stay safe.
Very interesting, as usual. Thank you. But I am quite unhappy because the iPad Pro cannot only be used in landscape mode (horizontally) and not in portrait mode (vertically). I tried to buy another type of support but it did not work. And several apps I use regularly are in Portrait mode. Therefore I am not in love with this iPad and prefer to use my old iPad Air. Any idea maybe ?
I'm a bit confused - are you having an issue with the iPad, or with the magic keyboard case? If you're saying that the iPad Pro can't be used in portrait mode... that's 100% not the case. It can be used in portrait mode like every other iPad out there. If you're looking on the other hand for an iPad case that allows you to have a keyboard, trackpad and use the iPad in portrait mode, I'm not sure such a thing exists I'm afraid.
@@ProperHonestTech I am sorry not to be clear. I am referring to a case without keyboard that would hold it vertically and would be easy to remove. It is rather heavy for my little hands. Thank you very much.
As case that would hold it vertically would be the regular Folio case from Apple, or a similar option from a third party. If you want the case to also function as a stand (holding it vertically), I'm afraid such a product doesn't exist to the best of my knowledge.
Buddy - if you are referring to Proper Honest Tech's comment where he says 'looks like it's going to be an absolute powerhouse' then he has used it's correctly. In this form it isn't an 's showing ownership it's a correct abbreviation for 'it is' .
