    The flexible drive pipe is causing you some inefficiencies. Flexible pipe moves and expands when the brass swing valves cause the water hammer. You could replace with PVC or metal pipe.
    I like the expansion tanks you are using, much better than some of the expansion tanks made out of 4" PVC Pipe.

    Papa pump is too expensive including the installation compared to home made ram pump. Papa pump also is not design for more than 100 meter vertical lift because the bladder tank maximum pressure is 8 to 10 bar. I prefer the home made ram pump but have to make your own waste valve and check valve but jot the surge tank for higher lift is made of steel.

    1. Is there a difference in using a bladder tank versus a ordinary PVC pipe?
    2. Does the wider tank respond better because it has a larger surface area inside the tank?

    Not a fair comparison between home made ram pump and a papa pump.. As we can see the source of water was not the same.

    My new 2021 patented amplified ram pump (ramplified) can lift 30m using 50cm drive head, this will disrupt current ram pumps

    • @Waterpoweredtechnologies
      @Waterpoweredtechnologies  2 года назад

      How is it "amplified" and how much does it deliver? our pumps can work on 50cm head and pump to 30m....
      however the delivery amount (150 litres/day) is normally worth finding more head, as more supply head= more water delivered

      There are plenty of videos showing how you can make a homemade ram pump. The point of this video was to show how making your own is interesting for a hobby but if you want something that will last a long time and not require that you to constantly have to tinker with it, then it is worth investing in a more efficient commercial product with a 5 year guarantee. If you are a busy farmer your time is worth more than the relatively small investment in a Papa Pump.

    Your check valve or delivery valve using brass spring check valve will not last long. Im is better to use stainless steel spring check vallve or make a DIY check vave and waste valve.

    If you only getting 2lts a min at 500mts and 2800 per day it's very small, my 2inch ram pumps pump 21lts a min at 500ft, at 40ft height, or 8lts at 82mts height at 165mts distance, mind dont brake any parts, and kevin Smith ram pumps in new Zealand are the best in the world delivery is 130,000lts per day at 300mts height,
    The rubber vavels your using wear out and get perish over time,

      Hi Derek, the delivery amount depends on the supply head, please see the calculator on our website hear: www.waterpoweredtechnologies.com/calculator/
      In regards to our rubber valves they last an average of three years and the pumps come with a spare set. Replacement sets are only £20 so in the long run are much less expensive then the traditional style that will wear its expensive parts out.

    Can you explain why the cow drinking tank overflow goes back to the river? That is contaminated water in my view.
    I think that you should have a dry well and dump the water overflow there, or treat the water exposed to cows.

    seems like a lot of wasted money there are people pushing water 700 to 800 metres with a rise of 75 to 100 metres no problem with ram pumps . his ram pumps where kind of shitty tho so i can see why they did not produce much water plus he had a lot of hammer effect at the end of his output hose . still if you have the money to spend why not i suppose

    • @Waterpoweredtechnologies
      @Waterpoweredtechnologies  5 лет назад

      Pushing water over a distance is not a problem - there are only small fricton loses. The Papa Pump can deliver meaningful amounts lifted over 150 metres. In this case it only had to deliver up to 65 metres. As you know, the amount of water you can deliver is mainly dependant on the Supply Head and the Delivery Head and you have to work with what the topography allows. We have retrofitted the Papa Pump to replace the old metal style pumps many times and each case the efficiency of the water delivery has improved and running costs lowered. It has achieved this because of the patented new venturi valve. Also the Papa Pump uses a pressure vessel so that you don't get the pulsing of your water delivery unlike the home-made pumps. This was a comparison of home-made against the commercial alternative.
