The tragedy here is perhaps compounded by the notion that even someone as talented, successful, and nominally attractive as Hartman perhaps didn't have better options to choose from, at least according to his point of view.

      @orpheus.. 2 года назад +19

The reason he is speechless is because he clearly knew that Andy was 100% wrong. You can see it in his eyes and body language.
He was probably thinking "well, if I give you drugs and you die because of it...then yeah, I'm kinda responsible for your death, man". But he couldn't say that because then Andy would've reacted like "Oh, is that so? Then you know what? You're the same as Lovitz, so good riddance! I'm outta here!" and then you're out of the interview. So he struggled between an honest answer and "the answer to keep the interview alive" and not even him was able to lie about such a sensible subject so he tried to keep everything neutral with the usual "no comments" line.
Even when trying to tell his side of the story AD comes out like an a-hole. He doesn't seem to realize that due to his ridiculous ego though.

It also said the relationship was on the rocks already so who even knows what else was happening or what could have happened if she never got from him.

Well maybe your not giving h him enough credit.
In the end what you or I say is only an opinion and neither of us know for sure.
But iv seen people trying to to fully incriminate themselves (of opinion and of law) so it sounds vague or not fully sure what went on and they would say something like that and then kinda say "if" they done it they would do it certain ways or use someone else they are with as an example, this is quite a common way to do exactly what Andy did here.
I mean OJ Simpson wrote a book called "if I did it" after saying he wasn't guilty for years lol its very similar and seen many people do it who were obviously guilty of what they done (as is 100% Andy here) but it's not the point is it that he gave her the coke or is it that it led to bad things?
It's not his fault she had issues and I could quite believe he didn't know she was sober for 10 years as if you notice he didn't do any of the above about that part.
Sp you see 2 very different ways of talking about things and lots of changes around it and hypothetical additions to the parts that are definitely true but he wants to just keep it not incriminating fully (again by law or public opinion) and a totally different way of saying "I didn't know she had issues of sobriety" which is in a way pretty much admitting he did give her it.
So if you look at it there's a way he talks about the 2 different truths differently I mean he's not even lying as such cause he's obviously doing it so openly obvious that he gave her it.
It's either he is so crazy and maniacal he doesn't know what he's saying which is very possible too or he is saying he gave her it in a funny way but then being sincere with the whole he didn't know she had issues part and didn't put it in with the hypothetical/weird way.
I believe that's true for sure and ye why should he feel too bad for that?
Also the part where you say people aren't blaming her go look at the co.ments lol its all about Andy and how bad he is mostly so it doesn't cut it.
She was a poor soul who was led down a terrible path by Andy who malevolently gave her drugs and she the poor soul had issues and murdered her man and its due to Andy.

Besides we're all grown-ups here- no one forced a gram of coke up Mrs. Hartmann's nose, she was going to do it because she wanted to, and the resulting relapse that escalated into tragedy is absolutely her own doing and not one other person bears any responsibility for it. I struggled with opioid addiction for 15 years. 4 of my friends died from OD'ing, and yet I recognize we all have no one to blame but ourselves. Years back I was at the L.A. Zoo with my girlfriend. About mid-morning we're at the "Gorilla Experience" live exhibit watching the gorillas roam, run, & eat in a realistic-style habitat. Who comes up next to us & starts chatting, Andy Dick. Minutes later, a boy walked up very close to the bars on the cage with his camera to take some pictures & a gorilla who was close, came even closer to the bars, squatted & began shitting into his/her own hands & throwing it at the boy. The sure-handed ape hit the kid & the screaming boy ran like he saw a ghost.
Andy was laughing so hard, he then excused himself, evidently went to the giftshop, bought a disposable camera & returned minutes later, surprising us by taking an even less defensively strategic position by the fence. What we witnessed was hilarious, thoroughly disgusting, awe-inspiring, vomit-inducing, and one would think, in violation of many anti-pornography statutes. Although Andy's over-the-top enthusiasm only increased with every "successful catch", and his extreme level of fecal-comfort was impressive, I noticed that even many of the gorillas had to often look away out of sheer disgust.
We watched as long as we could but there were other wild animals to view. But as my girlfriend and I passed the "Gorilla Experience" about 3 hours later we were able to yell 'Hello' to Andy because he was still there (with a big shit eating grin) after obviously making many, many more "successful catches".

Very tough situation...I'd want to blame Andy for what happened to Phil as well, but in reality the blame really falls squarely on his wife. She could've said no to the cocaine, and she also didnt have to murder her husband...When I was in High School, i gave these 2 kids books of matches that I had knicked from science class after a day using the bunsen burners, and they ended up taking them into the bathroom and lighting a garbage can on fire, causing the school to empty out during last period. I dont think I am to blame for that because all I did was give them the matches, heck I figured they were going to go smoke a joint or a cigarette with them after school or something. Her actions after she got coke from Andy are her own.
As to the Lovitz situation, with the comments reportedly made by Andy in the moment I would assume that Andy getting his head smashed into a bar is justified.

I believe it was summer 2020 on the podcast, In Godfrey We Trust, when he told the story. I think Ardie Fuqua was the guest on the episode. Also, a friend of mine was at a bar doing a standup show and Andy Dick was at the bar, and gave him his number so my friend could possibly write material for Dick. He had the number for a year and never called it, but after a show he, another buddy and I did, told us he had the number, and we told him to call it. Sure enough, Andy Dick answers, and we chatted with him for about 15-20 minutes. This was right after the Comedy Central Roast of David Hasselhoff.
