    Had that one while I was in the portuguese army the G3 was the rifle used by us in the Infantry, and if I'm not mistaken the Comandos used the G3 also but with the adjustable stock... Man the memories just by seeing this.

      I love to hear stories like this. Yes, the G3 was a widely used rifle by a couple of countries throughout the world. Many different versions of this Bayonet we also manufactured.

      I made a leather sheath for it, but unfortunately did not film it. I plan to do a leather sheath video for a different knife at some stage.

    枪刺,全抛光的做法是不对的,应该刀身是经过防锈及发黑处理,这样作为战场武器更有隐蔽性。

    Another G3 Bayonet wrecked. A bayonet is a blunt weapon, not to slice but to thrust. So sharpening is a gross error. It needs to be black as the light reflects from it, giving the enemy your position. So all in all someone who got no idea about this piece.

    • @zeemanknives
      @zeemanknives  Год назад

      I disagree with you...i cant see how sharpening would be a gross error...bayonettes were used to thrust and to slice into the opponent...and it was used as a field knife. Besides...if you plan to attack someone with a bayonette, the blade "reflecting" light...will be the least of your problems. Many bayonettes were never painted. Also keep in kind, this was restored for a private collector...so this is not a "service weapon" anymore...strangely enough all his original bayonettes in his collection all have edges and none are black...

    • @zeemanknives
      @zeemanknives  Год назад

      I you think about it...if bayonettes were supposed to be blunt weapons without edges, why bother grinding in bevels...instead of just issuing soldiers with a metal rod with a sharp point (which was the case with certain countries)? This bayonette was rusted beyond recognition and I did apply gunblue to darken it, so im not sure why you would call this project wrecked? What would you have done differently?

      @markusdoerr4373 Год назад

      @@zeemanknives I would have browned to a black finish, the same colour as a G3 barrel. We weren’t allow to sharpen it at the Bundeswehr for the reasons mentioned before. I own a G3 and a MKE T41, no bayonet yet

      When you file with a file, the file does not touch the tip of the blade, how will it turn out then?

      I actually have no idea. I have seen military knives go for ridiculous prices at markets, but I am no expert on monetary values. This one was bought at a cheap price because of the shape it was in...
