Try holding the A chord with pinky, ring and middle finger then slide to C# with your index one the 4th fret as shown in the diagram.. Hope it helps

@@elizabetkafka8976 I can't even tune by ear I struggle to distinguish tones that are similar to one another. I have played guitar off and on for 15+ years. I seriously doubt my ears ability to preserve on that front.

It's okay it happens. You'll get it after a few songs. The only tip I can give you is to practice the guitar part well and know the lyrics by heart
