It really is a great line of toys. I am pleased they rereleased the ecto. I have seen so many beat up, yellowed and incomplete ones over the years. It’s nice for collectors and collectors who want to share with their kids a nice new one. Be well

Great video Luke. I never had the Ecto 1, just Ray Stanz and the Frightened version of Ray but I always loved these toys and the cartoon was class. Your vintage Ecto is holding up really well.

Great review Luke! The Classics version is a great option for those on a budget or those who are having difficulty finding a minty white vintage example. Great idea to put the vintage one in the box to preserve it and display the Classics version in the Reynolds Base. If you can, try to get the US carded versions of the figures rather than the Euro versions. The US versions display better (in my opinion at least) and have a cleaner, less cluttered look, especially with the "i aint fraid of no ghost" bubble and the action feature callout. The US versions of the figures also feature the name of the included ghost accessory. The name is missing on the Euro versions. Hope that helps you and others who may wish to collect the carded figs. I almost got caught out with one seller but luckily I messaged them to ask. It turns out they had the Euro versions which I didn't want. The US versions tend to be more sought after and are as a result that bit more expensive usually. Hope this helps dude.👍🐵
Great review Luke, your right regarding the stickers, why fold them? There's a new retro toy shop opened up in my local town, and I saw two brand new boxed examples of the Hasbro one. Both £25, so a good price indeed.

I never had these as a kid, but remember going to a birthday party were my mates brothers got a whole bunch of these… always wanted these, but never got them ☹️ I do have the Playmobil ecto 1 and Firehouse currently representing ghostbusters in my collection…Big up Playmobil😂 Well spotted btw Luke! I am surprised HASBRO went for a straight up copy of the original box art leaving Winston off the box. Ernie Hudson went on record to say he felt the studio was not inclusive and continued not to be and this is why he felt he was excluded from the original movie poster, stating he was very selectively pushed aside. With this in mind, you’d think HASBRO would have wanted to correct this when representing the brand going forward. It’s definitely a great looking toy and HASBRO have recently added more to the range with Fright features real ghostbusters figures. The cheapest I’ve seen these is on HASBRO pulse at £14.99 each. I remember my brother having some of them, very cool! Super enjoyable video mate👍

And I recall Ernie Hudson talking about how he felt a little pushed aside, however it’s Ray not represented on the box not Winston, just so strange I always thought all four were there 🤷♂️ The playmobil version is brilliant, but I’m sure you can make room for this one lol 😉

Hey Matt, yeah not huge amounts but definitely there, the most obvious is the big join on the vintage one near the windscreen which has have removed on the reissue. But on this occasion Hasbro haven’t done a bad job at all….for a change lol

I find it a little ironic that the back door doesn't shut properly as with my vintage version at least, the back door feels like its going to brake whenever I try to open it 😅
Hey Si, yeah how strange how some things rocket in price and this one has dropped 🤷♂️ Yeah I’ve looked at the back door again, it has tabs to secure it but the are not big enough to catch the sides when closed so it doesn’t secure, whereas the vintage version is solid as hell when closed, 1.0 to Kenner lol 👍
I know people who have bought the playmobil version and taken the lights and sounds mechanism from that and transferred it to the classics version, maybe an option 🤷♂️

My first gripe, I have to put on the decals. I guess that's what happens when Hasbro lays off thousands of workers two weeks before Christmas.
No issue with putting decals on, I want to do that myself, but don’t expect them to come out the box virtually folded in half! 😡

The Hasbro Ecto-1 looks good at first glance. I wonder what others complain about.
I think it’s a very well done reissue personally, but didn’t seem to get much love from other reviews when it was released 🤷♂️
The vintage version numberplate sticker actually looks like the embossed lettering on the actual numberplate. The new one doesn't look as good to me.
