My perspective on Mother Gothel is that she would do anything to keep Rapunzel in the tower. She doesn't buy her paints though, she brings her the elements for her to make the paint. I don't think she does it out of compassion or love, but to keep her busy and happy enough to not try to escape.
i think mother gothel in a way has come to believe that she does those things for love, though. i think she doesn't truly understand love, or she has forgotten what love really means, and her actions and statements, in my opinion, show that yes her primary concern is keeping rapunzel in the tower forever, but that she also feels she provides for rapunzel and that she gives rapunzel everything a young girl could want or need - but mother gothel's view of the world is warped, so she ends up giving rapunzel everything except the few things rapunzel truly wants and needs: the truth and freedom. sorry for writing you an essay in reply lol; i just have strong feelings about character analysis

She had no problem hurting and manipulating her. Mother gothel didn’t care about rapunzel, kept rapunzel busy, and protected what she loved- the powers that came from the hair. She doesn’t have a warped way of love because she doesn’t love rapunzel seemingly at all. If the queen never got sick, didn’t need or take the flower, give birth to rapunzel that transferred the power then gothel would never spare even a glance at her. The power to be young again is all she needs. Keeping rapunzel happy and compliant is the easiest way to get what she wants. To further my point, mother gothel tried to take a lock of her hair so that she could use only the powers without the hassle of the kid, but the hair lost its power when it was cut, only then did mother gothel need rapunzel, if MG could have it her way and the powers didn’t go away, she would have just kept the lock of hair until she needed more or lost it.

18:35 Hey Minori! I love your videos so much :3 This part where you were talking about using "too much" paint; I agree with you, you can't be stingy for art. I'm a self thought artist myself and this has always come to mind whenever I used paint, but one solution I have that works for me, is that I always keep a blank canvas of some sort next to me when I paint. (It can be just a sheet of paper too.) The reason I do this is because when I finish painting and there is still a bunch of unused paint left, I use them to make abstract art. Just relax my mind and just do whatever random brushstrokes that come to mind. Random shapes, horizontal, vertical or diagonal lines, dots... I even sometimes just use my fingers too. The abstract art piece that comes out of each bunch of leftover paints will always be unique, and if the artist worries about if they are wasting too much paint, this can help make it not feel too bad or guilty for using a lot of paint. Again, this is just something I do myself whenever I am working on a painting project. It works for me and I thought I'd share it with you. Anyway, I love your videos, they always cheer me up and inspire me to try new things in life. Thank you for being so awesome. :)

What I love about this is that you didn't half ass anything. You could have just been like I don't want to paint the walls I can just paint on paper or paper mache is too hard, I'll make a small one but you legit took care and researched everything and did it well so proud !!!
Ya'll are talking about the ukulele that isn't a guitar, but I'm a little amused by the crocheting which isn't knitting. It's still a fiber art and she had fun though so that matters more than the specific name.
I think part of the reason Rapunzel had the supplies was because she was basically working on a homestead. She had to make new candles for light. She probably had to make some of her own dishes and vases. Sewing her own clothes was probably cheaper than buying an entire dress, and she definitely makes her own food. It's really cool to remember how well Rapunzel can take care of herself and all the skills she has, even if she's really naive.
I was thinking this the other day, that we’ve all become rapunzel. lol Minori Im glad you did all this !!! It motivates me more to actually finish tasks now . We’ll see how that goes in the future .

a tip for paper mache: use a cheap brush to apply the glue directly onto the balloon and then another layer over the paper. Also doing a second layer of tissue paper makes it nice and smooooth~

ただ髪の毛の恩恵を受けたいだけなら、ラプンツェルを閉じ込めて餌だけ与えて、って家畜同然に育てることも出来たから、そこは、ゴーテル式の愛情があったのかなって思いたい。

I think part of the reason Rapunzel had the supplies was because she was basically working on a homestead. She had to make new candles for light. She probably had to make some of her own dishes and vases. Sewing her own clothes was probably cheaper than buying an entire dress, and she definitely makes her own food. It's really cool to remember how well Rapunzel can take care of herself and all the skills she has, even if she's really naive.
Literally I wanna watch her Japanese channel just to see how cute her voice is lol

a tip for paper mache: use a cheap brush to apply the glue directly onto the balloon and then another layer over the paper. Also doing a second layer of tissue paper makes it nice and smooooth~
