The movie is very good,but very very cultural so might you not get it. The sequel is much much better than this one, but you will miss out the characters if you directly watch the sequel. Frankly u miss out on some parts due to translation, certain things in these types of movies are very cultural, regional or some common ideologies which we are familiar with so u don't get it. The sequel won most of the awards including National award and Filmfare. I suggest you to watch the trailer of tanu weds manu returns and then make a decision, but do not turn down this movie just based on the trailer. At least see the trailer of the sequel.

The guy is the photographer dude from 3 idiots, Madhavan. He was also the pilot who died in Rang De Basanti. He is a cross industry leading man (Hindi-Tami-Telugu) and very good. He is a total girl-magnet and heart throb, but he was putting on a little weight at the time this movie came out. He got fit later again.

He also played the pilot who dies in the fighter plane crash in Rang De Basanti. His character in this movie is one of my favourite male leads ever. Manu is an absolute sweetheart.
